Not a mk1 owner, but stumbled across the page this morning. Well done guys. Subscribed purely because this is what car ownership is about. Appreciating the work that goes into a build. We are just lucky to see the effort on the other side
Jeez bru I wish you could've done this job at my house where there is plenty light. I take my hat off to you wotking with a flashlight. In my younger days we also did it this way. You simply do what you can with what you have. Brilliant
Like the other guy I too stumbled on this channel today, I enjoy SA content like this. I own a polo 9n 1.4 consider rebuilding the engine myself with all stock internals no fancy stuff.
You could always have undersized bearings which make you believe the crank is turning fine. Best is to always use a mic or plast strips. You never know... Also the engineering companies sometimes make mistakes so it is best to check the lash (forwards and backwards movement of the crank. After you installed the mains. I have seen guys break conrods or suffer heavy oil leaks because of engineering mistakes.
I enjoyed the video. Just a Lil more detail guys on the manuals. Drop a link as to where we can get the manuals. But further more. Very proud of u guys.
when using a torque wrench you should only click once, if you click more than one time then it will over torque it just slightly. Other than that great job!
Thanks buddy, we were just double checking that everything is torqued and that we didn't miss any bolts. But thanks for the feedback and help we appreciate it 🤙
