A comparison between the ENGL e530 tube preamp and the TSE x30 VST plugin.
Note: The sounds are very quiet because I didn't want to falsify them with mixing and mastering. What you hear is the pure sound of the plugins in your DAW.
Contents:
0:00 ENGL e530 Clean
0:46 TSE x30 Clean
1:29 TSE x30 Gain adjusted
2:13 ENGL e530 Lead
2:58 TSE x30 Lead
For all clips the same guitar, same cab impulse and settings were used. No effects were applied. Also no mixing and mastering was done. All knobs were turned to 12 o'clock. Only for the TSE x30 clean part I had to turn down the gain a lot but still it was not as clean as the ENGL e530 with gain at 12 o'clock.
I used a Mesa Boogie 4x12 Impulse together with Poulin's LeCab v2. The doubled parts were not doubled with different cab impulses.
