@@daviddulom8258 don’t know if you watch Barca but Dembele is absolutely lethal on the right. He had 12 assists in 14 games last season, he breezes defenders consistently that’s not exaggeration. Mostly cuts in or drops in crosses , but teams almost always double team him. Which leaves Mbappe on the left. Good luck. 👍

Shaw vs Dembele Part 1. Shaw can put in solid defensive performances if he doesn't have to concentrate on attacking but then England have to find a different way to build up play. It wouldn't surprise me if Southgate keeps Shaw high and Dembele runs the show.

England, the team aren't pitting all focus on mbappe. The media and fans might, but I think the England coaches are a little more intelligent than that.

Both teams are very similar in how they approach the game. Both have pragmatic managers who prefer to keep defensive first. They both have the ability to hit you with Quick counters with their talented individual players They key to this matchup will be which team establishes their tempo first. It’s rare for both teams play from behind. The team that scores first will be able to impose their biggest strength - hit back with quick counters when the opposition pushes higher to try to score. Should be a great game.

The offensive output and pressure England are capable of putting on France back line is something France hasn’t had to worry about in the matches they’ve played this WC. Some times soft group matches and round of 16 games hurt you when you play a team capable taking you to the deep end of the pool.
I think France has a better starting XI. But England seems to have a better squad for me. And I think that's what it might come down to, when subs come on maybe they will just do it for England.
What a Qtr Final matchup, would have been a great Semifinals or even Final matchup. Netherlands and Argentina is a good Qtr Final as well, but England vs France should be epic.
Yes Mbappe has been a star man, but on his day Dembele can torment any defense with his pace, and also don’t forget Coman too. It will be a tough job for english defense especially in the wings
dembele and greizzman doesnt move me i think people are putting way too much money on these big names and in a game where dembele isnt gonna get space like vs poland he wont do well. also the thing to hurt england is an aggressive press which i dont see dembele, mbappe and giroud doing
@@bigt6665 dembele is more of a provider then a goalscorer and against smaller teams it's hard to find the passing lanes bc they play very defensively but against England the game will be wide spread and there will be more spaces between the defenders and that's where dembeles pace and Antoine griezmens passes will come. With Gironde in the box.
As a french I'm surely completely biaised, but a few point for France have been under estimated, if we talk about pure speed: -Dembele who's almost as fast as Mbappe -Coman who could be as lethal if he had to played -The weakness of France is the lack of depth because of all the injuries (Benzema, Nkunku, Hernandez, Kante, Pogba). And I'm still amazed of what The team can do without them. -The strengh of this team is not Mbappe from my point of view. It's Deschamps. And I don't think England media seem to realise how the man is able to bring low team to their best (Monaco 2003, Marseille 2013 if my memorie is still good ^^"). Equally for the players, when you see what Griezmann is capable of in France team. once again, I'm 100% biaised, but France is still favorite for me due to expérience and the coach. But on the field, everyone can win :) Good match for England, and good luck :)
if you say it's not Mbappe... We don't see the same match. Basically, Poland flooded his side to contain him (2-3 players in front of him), hence the reason Dembele had a lot of one-to-one situations... He is the main player. Simple!

One thing that has strengthened the English team is the improvement in cooperation, unity and understanding amongst the players. They have suddenly realized that their Premier League rivalry will lead them to nowhere. That's a huge gain and it's going to take them to the extreme end of the tournament. I see a England win in 90minutes on Saturday.
I think France's defence has been a bit worrying on both left and right sides, especially right. I hope Deschamps will start Pavard instead of Koundé. It's anybody's game really, both attacks are very good, I don't know if France can keep possession in the middle against this English squad, it will be the key factor of the game.
Both teams have weaknesses. Like the French defense is not as strong as it used to be. While England can also be outplayed. They were outplayed by US. It can go either way. But I have a feeling England will win since FIFA would like England to win due to France winning WC in 2018.

It’s amazing how people talking about stopping mbappe and forget about dembele or giroud . Giroud gets his goals when opportunity come but dembele at that right and side it’s dangerous .
France has had some defensive worries mainly at RB but to be honest England doesn't really have much of an edge, their midfield is about the same or you could make the argument France's a little better, griezman, tchoumani, and Rabiot have had a great World Cup. Tchoumani has been one of if not the best midfielder in this World Cup so far. Greizman has been amazing he is so good at transitioning the play from defense to attack in an instant, nd he has been good defensively too. Defensively they both have had scares and for England is Maguire and for France kounde who isn't a natural RB. In attack France has the better attack but England has a better bench. this is a close game and I can't wait for it.
I disagree about the bench, Frances bench still has better players who are all match fit, england has bench warmers that haven't even been playing for their respective clubs regularly. It's a definite France win.
Aside from Bellingham and Walker, it's hard to find an English player who would make this French starting XI. Close, perhaps, but it should be a routine France win.
Both teams match up well to be honest. I think England can play toe to toe with France if they don’t start slow as they did in their previous games. They absolutely cannot play on the backfoot or let in a early goal. The real possibility of France breaking with Mbappe cutting in and Dembele running at and in behind Maguire could really expose them
on paper France is by far the better team but they will have to show it on the field, sometimes the pitch delivers surprising results ,in the end what counts is the score

In last match, it was not the pace of Mbappe that hurt Poland. It was the finishing. Only problem is sometimes he is off in that aspect. England should not give him enough time to shoot well, then they can stop him. On the other side, saka will be an isssu on the same side for France.

Actually Mbape, his speed and finishing is always a problem to teams standing against him. Dembele is a speedster who creates panic and disrupt defenses. He is not a good finisher, never been. You have now Grease-man who is playing like N'golo Kante with much more scoring threat.
But there are vanishingly few players in the World right now who can deliver 1 strike like that in a crucial game, much less 2. England is better than Denmark or Poland, but I don't think they're better than France.
England played very good against Senegal,it looked very easy for them,both teams have a shaky defense more so England,its hard to win a world cup tittle with Luke Shaw to be honest,but Englands midfield are awesome especially Bellingham what a talent,its going to be 55-45 for France in my opinion
Closer game than everyone is thinking it will be. For me, Mbappe will score but so will we with Saka/Kane. I think the game depends on how well Bellingham plays. If he has a monster performance then England will win, but if he doesn’t influence much then we’ll get overrun in midfield.

His goal was unfairly refused against Tunisia tho. Anyway he is a midfield and not a striker in this WC, his role is to control the game and make the link between the defence and the front. He's been so good since the beginning of the WC, probably France top 2 or 3 best player in this WC so far, he is so important.
