A party can only truly thrive after you 've arrived , Kat . - I think the best compliment for any shop owner is saying " I enjoy being here ! " , and yet sometimes seems so hard to create and sustain that " Feeling Home Experience " for any customer . And it truly helps to talk with the shop owner in person , and in my experience that he will be tempted to give some discount , not the full price , but get something % off , if there s a mutual "feeling home " in the air . (Only male shop owners have given me discount so far ! , might be a silent " gentlemen 's agreement " and they always give it spontaneously, I never ask .)
Another interesting video, Katharine. It's important that we socialise with one another. No man is an island. I believe in the power of small talk. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks! ❤
It's kind of fun listening to you speak. The video seemed short. Yet, eleven minutes is more than what I look for, usually, as the duration of a video. Amazing.
As you say Katherine, i can t recommend you enough to other potential students, such a gréât enthousiastic lesson.may the wind always gently push you forward. Serge from France.
Hey Katharine. 🙂I just love your exceptional connection and communication skills. 😍You often refer to your students, so I hope you're still teaching face-to-face in classrooms. You remind me so much of my British English teacher from high school (and it’s been ages since I was in high school). I know it's not called "high school" in Britain, but the British school system can be a bit confusing. She was the one who made me fall in love with English and turned me into a complete anglophile. You have the same energy and enthusiasm that she had. Today, I came home early from work, had some Yorkshire tea and Walker’s biscuits while watching your video. That, to me, feels like the quintessential British thing to do. By the way, I’m an ambivert, and my wife is the extrovert. But when we visit Britain, we switch roles, which annoys her just a little-partly because she lacks the vocabulary, but mostly because of my anglophilia. I’ll definitely recommend your video to her, though.😉
@@englishwithkatharine Lovely idiom we students are given here alongside - " Keep a finger on the pulse " is actually a Dutch saying as well , and that is what doctors literally do all the time , to check and double check on the actual and current status of a patient's wellbeing .
Hello Katherine🥰 I'm new to your channel and actually really glad that I found you. I fancy british accent and I enjoy watching your videos for learning English. You're so lively besides your floral dresses are so pretty. Like your style🌸
Hi my lovely princess, this lesson you made is you 100%!!! Indeed, you are sociable, outgoing, a people person, the life and soul of the party...even better, you are the soul of life! I have to say that I'm ambivert as well, cause sometimes I feel at home in the place I am and other times I feel a fish out of water! I think it depends on how other people make you settle in in some context. You know, people can be extrovert or introvert and in the second case you feel limited and simply out of place...In my case, despite my being shy, I always try to be extrovert and talkative, although expressing my own self in english doesn't help me feel confident; I continuosly feel like being inappropriate and often stay silent when I'd like to give my opinion. I think you're a fantastic seller and I could buy anything from your shop! Well, the problem is, in my case, the answer of my speaker...I'd feel ashamed of being like "Excuse me, could you repeat that, please?" what an embarassment! Anyway, you are the representation of being gregarious, a fantastic person, always positive, an anthem to joy and hope for a better world, where happiness and sharing will win our hearts and people like us will bring about great change. Stop war, be this world a world of peace and joy for anyone. You are super, my princess, and your positivity is contagious! Have a talkative weekend and see you next time!
Yes, she’s adorable! A very smart and beautiful woman in which I can suspect lots of virtues and delicacies are dancing in harmony in some spring morning of that glorius days of England countryside. She seems to be extrovesion, openess of mind and emotions as that great greeck sculptures of pure and white beauty, but she’s the soul of that divine art. Enchanté Katharine
Katharine, I really thank you for all your videos ❤I watched it every day now, because I have “100 days challenge with English 10 minutes every day” and I spending it with you 🤤🔥 this video so much interesting and useful I am so grateful 🙏🏻
Hi Katharine!!! I consider myself an Ambivert as well!!! GREGARIOUS - that's a phenomenal "word-of-the-week"!!! I really liked it a lot!!!👍👍👍 Take care!!!🙋♀️
Hi Katherine, I like your lovely English words for Extroverts and how to use them in a small talk. I love the way you speak Katherine like a native English speaker. I learned a new word from you Gregarious. There are people with the name Gregory in England, America and even in our country Sri Lanka. It's an English of French name, but today I got to know there is an adjective of the name Gregory, Gregarious. Thank you Katherine for teaching me new words
"Cheers, Mam Thanks ever so much for the fantastic lesson! Your explanation was spot on and I loved the British flair you brought to it. You're a natural in front of the camera! Keep up the brilliant work! 😚

Hi Kath, very interesting thank you! I really like your slang, I like as well on YT Auto Sozial UK with Tish, I understand you both so good, on other english channels I understand nothing :) Greatings from Germany.
Hi sweet Katherine, here another amazing video!!I think that it suits me perfectly as I am an extrovert person. When I was in Bath long time ago,I went into the brand-new spa,it was out of the world I still remember the aesthetic of the builiding and I told at the reception that it was a super facility!Thank you for your highly educational videos, always💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is fantastic! This is super good to know. I will try to use this more often but like you I am an ambivert, leaning more to the introverted side. Now, I working on my second novel and it takes place in England again. The characters are an introverted English nurse and an American pilot who is an ambivert. But I will have him come across more like and extrovert. I use your tips on English for extroverts. This will help a lot.
I guess you are gregarious not only in front of the camera but in real life!😃 In Ukraine neighbours will definitely bring treats if they decide to pop into. Thank u for a lovely and informative video🥰.
Salut Kath, ma belle, ma rose d'Angleterre! 🌹😊 Super video as always! I'm not surprised you're an ambivert (as am I, although I probably lean much more towards introversion). I clearly sense these 2 facets in you; on the one hand, the more introverted and introspective person, you love literature, poetry, Nature, you're a contemplative, an artist, a magnificent and talented composer, pianist and singer; I think you need to be with yourself from time to time and that's probably important to you. But I also sense a very affable, gregarious and sociable side to you, with this ability to let go in conditions and an environment where you feel comfortable and at ease; you're probably sensitive to your surroundings, to the moods of the people around you, with this ability to transcend yourself in certain situations or even when circumstances demand it; reserved and somewhat introverted people can sometimes become surprising. I find myself quite at home in this; I'm basically maybe not shy but in any case reserved, even though I treat/heal myself ;-) May I ask what your sign is, (fish perhaps ...) The word 'gregarious' is interesting. It would constitute what I would call a sort of 'faux-ami' (false friend) because in French it doesn't have exactly the same meaning; I mean more precisely that we wouldn't really call 'gregaire', as in English, someone who is affable, sociable, outgoing and so on. we would more say sociable / affable etc. We'd use the term 'gregaire' (and I think it's also an acception of the term in English, by the way) to refer, in sociobiology, to populations and in particular to animals that live in groups, shoals or communities, but without any real social structure, such as a shoal of fish, a colony of birds, a herd of ungulates or a flock of crickets, for example. This gregarious behavior may be permanent or temporary; it may have strategic aims, such as escaping predators (schools of fish, wildebeests, etc.) or regrouping for reproduction, for example. Plants can also be qualified as gregarious when the colonies they form help them to thrive and develop like beech, oak, hornbeam ... For this adjective 'gregarious', I think it sounds better in English ;-) Lovely summer dress, needless to say, they are now a bit like your lovely signature.. :-) You're wonderful, your charm, your radiance, your voice, your enthusiasm are a real pleasure to watch and to listen to . Thank you so much! Have to love and leave ya now wishing you a great weekend! Bisous bisous, Love 🙏👏😘🌹❤🎹🎸🎶 ☮🕊
Merci Fabrice, This enriched answer is super formidable , and helping me and teachiing me , Dutchman specialized in medical biochemistry and microbiology , beyond any expectations for scientific vocabulary. I always learn from your comments , and thanks especially for this one .
@@taalpointnoord8826 You're most welcome taalpoint! Thank you so much! I too first studied biology and geology ;-) (before changing orientation) I always read your comments too. They are always interesting as well! Merci mon ami, bon week-end à toi ! 👍😊
Hello, Katharine.😊 The word "gregarious" reminds me of my mother. She's a social butterfly.🦋 Let me share a part of my staycation. The other day I went to a local planetarium, where I hadn't been for decades. It featured 'Arabian Nights Healing' and was filled with the amazing aroma called 'Arabian Mystic Aroma' and 'Arabian Moist Aroma'. It was out of this world!I can't recommend it enough! It's a super soothing experience for me. As always, thank you for your super informative lecture.🌠🌟🐪🐫
Hi Katherine! Mark my attendance Yes you are right the contacts between people are strong and regular in country side comparetivly to large cities especially when there is multiculturalism. Bye
We’re like passing ships unfortunately, many people tend to prevail socializing in the virtual world which is not cool 😉 Wish everyone is gregarious and outgoing just like you Kathy🤞 Thank you for theses nice expressions ❤
I was introvert, but from now on I'm gonna be extrovert, When I go to England and meet you, I'm gonna talk a lot (but in Spanish, cause in English the words don't want to appears)
2:11 Oh, Katharine! That was a lot of information 🤭❤. Be extrovert is great for many situations, but it consumes a lot of energy 😂. In any case, I want to share you my favourite extrovert word! And it is... 'amazeballs' Isn't great? Thanks for this useful video! I enjoyed, honey 😊. I wish you a marvelous weekend, too! Although I wish Fridays were long with you 😍😘.
I'm certainly not the soul of the party. I consider myself ambivert. However, my wife thinks I'm surly. She says that I take advantage of the fact that I'm odd to do whatever I want. I'm afraid she's right. 🤣🤣🤣
