The main objective for this day was to capture two GWR Castles (separate video) and given that a Class 40 and a Western were passing through the Birmingham suburbs within 7 minutes of each other and climbing St. Andrew's bank was too good to miss.
It's been years since I filmed at this location and I was very surprised to see palisade fencing on top of the bridge parapet which ruled out using my video camera and had to resort to an iPhone. The sound from the Class 40 was disappointing but was more than compensated by the Western at full cry.
Moving north of Stafford we see 86259 'Les Ross' hauling the Cumbrian Mountain Express past Stableford.
I hope you enjoy the video.
