Just found your channel and I am blown away! I've been a mechanic/restorer for over 45 years and have never had anyone teach metal working in such a friendly, easy to understand manner. It's like hanging with your best friend and learning at the same time. I'm 64 years old and am currently working on a truck resto that needs a great deal of metal repair. Your channel is exactly what I need to help me as I am more of a mechanic than fabricator. I have a great deal of respect for you and the knowledge you have. Your personality and presentation skills are over the top! Thank you for sharing your love of metal-working. It's making a difference to your viewers. I have already shared your channel with several friends and we now are all subscribers, calling one another to discuss your videos. Keep up the good work!

Being both an automotive and industrial mechanic but never doing any body work I find you and fitzee to be a wealth of knowledge. And you both have a way of conveying that knowledge in a way that makes it enjoyable and entertaining. If the student hasn't learned...the teacher hasn't taught. This channel is like an autobody encyclopedia except its exciting. I'll definitely be using a lot of your tips and lessons in my own shop as I work on my old 54 pick up. Stay safe. All the best in 2022 and in your future.

Great explanation and demonstration man. An expensive wheel is definitely not a necessity, I've done some pretty nice stuff with a $100 piece of junk. I think the issue for most(as it was for me) is overthinking the process. I always tell people that you can only do 4 things to the metal.....cut,bend , shrink and stretch! It makes things easier to digest. Keep up these amazing videos!

You have a great way of explaining what takes place in sheet metal forming. I had historically steered clear of anything involving an English Wheel, or a Bead Roller etc. as it always struck me as some form of sorcery. Now I'm exploring these as options to expand my ability as time, money and space allow... you are still some kind of wizard though!

Another very good and understandable tutorial. One thing that I may gently remind you of is: Be mindful of your thumbs! Unless you want blood all over whatever is the other side of the wheeling machine and not to be able to use your thumb(s) for a couple of weeks or so, know where your digits are at all times!. I started learning metal shaping in England when I was eleven. This was something my instructor would be very emphatic about. At the beginning of my training he would, every so often, sound an alarm, which meant that you instantly stopped what you were doing and shut off any machines you were running. He would then remind us to be aware of out digital placement, our body stance and the state of our clothing for whatever process we were involved in. Everyone would surreptitiously check themselves out, sometimes there would be a flurry of tucking in of shirts, buttoning or the rolling up of sleeves and the binding of longer hair. After about a month this procedure would be unnecessary as everyone had leaned their lesson well. But he would still cruise the shop looking for unsafe practice. He didn't often find it.
@MakeItKustom
@MakeItKustom 2 года назад
Thanks for the reminder what in particularI am very mindful of my digits and I’ve never stuck them in the wheel yet is there a particular thing that I was doing that you thought was unsafe for my fingers!?
@tobygathergood4990
@tobygathergood4990 2 года назад
@@MakeItKustom Nope, nothing that you were doing. Your technique is just fine. It's only that you didn't mention it for any newbies out there. Getting your thumbs caught between the wheel and anvil can come as a very nasty surprise

I think these videos are awesome, I just don't understand why people would click the dislike. These are good educational tips and tricks and even how to build tools and required equipment. All of us in this field are on a forever learning path. And knowledge is key. Maybe some haters that think they are better, well then, make your own "better" videos. Or people that are not in this field and don't understand the art, skill, time and effort this kind of work involves. But from me, a big thumbs up for ALL your videos 👍👍👍👍👍
