Voice does sound clearer. And I do agree, everyone have different preferences. I might keep it at normal setting because I don't want the voice to stand out too much and become weird. I will have to mess around a little

Very good info. It definitely sounds better, cleaner. How did you get the frequency response graphs? Did you use your own personal anechoic chamber and B&K test gear?
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 6 лет назад
Sadly, I do not own an anechoic chamber :( The frequency response was taken from the the VMP+ datasheet provided by RODE. You can find the PDF file on their website. Additionally I did some tests on my own and compared the VMP+ to a linear microphone to validate the frequency response and the changes I made with the EQ.

best setting on this microphone for wedding video ?
@MarinasFlorin
@MarinasFlorin 5 лет назад
There are many people with Rode Videomic Pro (the previous version). Can these settings be applied the same or do we need other EQ settings? Do you have suggestions on this?

Hello, it sort of falls in the same category. I recently discovered my audio files have a cricket like sound every half a second. Is there a way to get rid of it ? Thanks

Question, do you recommend turning on the high frequency boost on for film projects, or travel vlogs, interviews?? What scenarios do you recommend it for thank you

Awesome!! I question: I get a clicking noise from the cable I think when I am out vlogging with the Rode mic pro plus... how I can eliminate it? Thanks for sharing!
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 5 лет назад
Hard to say, maybe the cable is swinging around and hitting the shockmount? Do you have an example of the clicking noise?
@IssarCerrato
@IssarCerrato 5 лет назад
Yes... if you listen to my last vlog at the end of it.. then you hear very clearly the clunky sound :)

Julian Krause 2 I fixed the problem.. its a little disc where you put the cable in. It was loose for some reason and need to be tighten up

will this tip be useful on outdoor events with loud music? or shall I use the -10db button of the mic?
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 6 лет назад
This will work the same for recording music. If your the music your recording is so loud that your recording is clipping you can additionally use the -10dB setting.

I have a m50 .. wenn have the +20 db on it always clips even if i have i All the way on the left in the camera Audio settings .. anybody know whats going on ? ^^

Thanks for the great video. Question. Do you find using the 20+ gain (together with zoom h5) helps signal to noise? Or is it best on normal and increase levels on the zoom instead ? Cheers
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 5 лет назад
Hey, I don't have the VMP+ anymore to test it out. But I'm pretty sure that it does not make a significant difference in the noise floor in this setup. The +20dB gain from the mic can help if you have noisy preamps in your device. So, if you go straight into a camera, I would recommend turning it on. But the H5 has decent preamps, even for the 3.5mm input, so it shouldn’t make any difference. But try it out and see what happens :)

Hi, thank you for the Video....i Have a Question, i just bought the VMP+ for my Sony A6500, unfortunately i am hearing some weared beat noise, like a heartbeat noise when i am recording something...its not that loud, but still noticeable:( Any idea what i can do to fix that?? I tried to level down the Audio level in Camera and boost the VMP+ 20db, but nothing helped.....Thank you for the Answer....

@mmfilm-foto
@mmfilm-foto 6 лет назад
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 6 лет назад

do you use the low pass filters at all? would they useful under some circumstances?
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 6 лет назад
Yes, I used the low cut filter quite often. Especially when recording outside the 80Hz setting will help to minimise wind rumble. The 120Hz setting is even more effective, but for my taste it cuts off a bit too much from the low end.

Wofür stehen die gelbe und graue Kurve ?
@juliankrause2105
@juliankrause2105 6 лет назад

What headphone is that? I'm listening from my laptop built-in speakers and I can hear the difference like night and day.

It is a very bad microphone that should definitely be avoided. How come a product that says "pro" is manufactured with a built-in, unchanging crappy cable? I've been having a pitch noise problem since I got it. The reason is probably that the cable is stuck somewhere. It is not possible to understand how such a product can be made without a jack (I can offer which has get it with a double-sided jack in the cheaper model "micro"). The second big problem is the plastic crappy battery cover, you have to wrestle with the microphone to insert and remove the battery. Worst battery cover I've ever used in my life. I would never have guessed that a battery cover could turn my life upside down so much. After about 10 uses, the tabs of the battery cover (naturally) broke and black electrical tape is holding the battery cover now. This product costs around 200 USD. Kindergarten children who aged 0-6 would have designed this product better than Rode. As for the sound quality, if I can ignore the ongoing pitch noise -which I can't- if you're making news, making documentaries or having the opportunity to connect it to something like a boom etc., takes the human voice fine, but not too much better than my zoom. its terrible design should definitely lead you to other options.
