Some records are already "enhanced" (e.g., Joyner's 10.49), but if they get athletes that are already reasonably close to record performances, the existing standards could be exceeded with no-limit enhancements. Maybe not Magnussen at this point, but certainly Cam. I'm just offering the scientific viewpoint. I'm not in favor of these experiments, but it might be interesting to see some before/after results. The enhancements (for formerly clean athletes) will be substantial.

I listened but not interested in enhanced athletes. Why not train for a real 50!

I find the premise of these games somewhat interesting, but I'll say if he needs an illegal suit just to clear 20.91 by a few hundredths, it will really cheapen the accomplishment in my eyes (even more than the enhanced part already does lol). It's almost a given Dressel, McEvoy, Proud, maybe even Manoudou, would already have been under this WR in those suits. But hey if he can convince the ones with the money it's enough of an accomplishment to merit $1 million, power to him I suppose, go get that cheque.

Dressel swan in one of those suits and while not breaking any records, his final words were "The suit doesn't make the swimmer, the swimmer makes the suit".

The record was set with the suit on, he is only talking about wearing the exact same suit. That can only be called logical.

@@NealosMetropolos You need to train in the suit in order to take full advantage of it. Just donning the suit for a few cracks at the WR isn't gonna work.

@@NealosMetropolos The suit that Dressel used in the challenge was a Speedo LZR Fastskin, not an Arena X-Glide (which is what Cielo was wearing when he got the WR). By all accounts, the Arena suit was clearly superior to the Speedo one. But since Dressel (or Phelps, back in the day) is sponsored by Speedo, he will never get the chance to use an Arena supersuit in any kind of promotional event/challenge.

Great athlete and always comes across well but honestly as an athlete who’s performed to a high level this is all horseshit. We fight for a clean sport. I was scared to take protein shakes back in 2000’s. Grow the sport in other ways. More excitement 50’s at Olympics, personalities etc.

I was very skeptical on initially hearing about this, but it is obvious that James is approaching this correctly. Will he be successful? I think he has an excellent chance on setting a personal best (under 21.5) simply by solely focusing on the 50 free for the first time and wearing the same suit that Caesar wore. Add the 'enhancements' and breaking the world record becomes a legitimate possibility.

Its cool to see but I dont think he swims faster than prime Cielo with a suit and in best form. Cielo was just a diffent beast with rhe best coach😊, with PEDs or not, I think he wont get it but its cool to see👍

I think it would be a bad idea as sports will no more be seen from a pro health pov and would only be a means to express who can take more dosage and risk their life for sports. It kills the basic idea of woking out in general. Even enhanced pro bodybuilders are not seen with respect by many in our society which has also led to a rise in natural bodybuilding expos. Experiencing such a change it is not an intelligent decision to introduce PEDs in other sports as well..

Enhanced Athletics is an oxymoron. Athletics is about challenging oneself to improve independent of any enhancements. I don't see the point of this project.

This issue is really going to the core of competitive sports events. Naturally, I’m against the Enhanced Games purely for health reasons (especially with transhumanist megalomaniacs like Peter Thiel being involved, who probably considers anyone less wealthy than him as laboratory rats). We’ve already seen the dangers of PEDs in cycling, and if that is taken to the extremes, eventually there will be deaths. But apart from that, we also gotta look at the bigger picture. We‘ve seen countries using systemic doping. All the East German women‘s records from the 1970s and 1980s (of which we know now that they’ve been the result of PEDs being enforced already in kindergarten / primary school age) were smashed within a time period of 20 years. Yes, coaching methods became more technical and professional, other countries developed more sophisticated swimming systems, sports psychology got way better and workouts have become professionalized. But still, world records which came about with the help of PEDs were eventually erased. Without PEDs, there will come a time when some records will stand there, if not forever, at least for decades (there are limits to the human body). That certainly wouldn‘t be a problem for athletes, who can still be motivated to eventually reach a new level. But will it satisfy TV audiences, sponsors, the media and, most important, the host cities of Olympic Games? Every Olympics are marketed with claims of world records being broken. Will a host city really have the honesty to state „Okay, there probably won‘t be any new records, but we‘ll have a fun time anyway“? That‘s the question. With the Enhanced Games, there will be the danger of some sort of „space race“ between the Olympics and the Enhanced Games, and between companies who can produce the best PED, either officially, or hidden.

Have they not made these shorter distances more popular in Australia? Or it’s just been you 3 or 4 guys and your random medals? 🤔 & Cody Simpson 🇦🇺 #who’sEmma?
