About the Speakers
Sandeep Aggarwal, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Calgary and the Medical Director of the TotalCardiology Rehabilitation program which provides cardiac rehabilitation to over 2,000 patients per year. He received his MD from the University of Toronto, where he then completed his residency in internal medicine. He completed his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Calgary and echocardiography training at the University of Ottawa. He spearheaded an early access to cardiac rehabilitation as part of the STEMI project in Calgary. He is also the Cardiovascular Co-Chair for the provincial implementation of a unified electronic medical record system for Alberta Health Services. His research interests are mainly in cardiac rehabilitation as the Director of the TotalCardiology Research Network (TCRN). 
Dr. Steve Wilton, MD, is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Associate Professor of Cardiac Sciences and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine. After completing medical school at the University of Toronto, he came to Calgary for training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and a master’s degree in Epidemiology. His research program spans clinical and health services research domains, focusing on the prevention and treatment of common, high-impact cardiovascular diseases. Steve is currently the PI for the APPROACH initiative, as well as the Scientific Director for Alberta Health Services’ Cardiovascular Health and Stroke Strategic Clinical Network (SCN).
Dr. Codie Rouleau, PhD, is a Clinical Psychologist at TotalCardiology Rehabilitation and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Calgary. Her research and clinical interests focus on health psychology with an emphasis on behavioural factors in cardiovascular disease prevention and rehabilitation. She has over 30 peer-reviewed publications addressing the interplay among psychological factors, adherence, and chronic disease outcomes. She sits on the Executive Committees for the Canadian Network for Health Behaviour Change and Promotion (Can-Change) and the Health and Behavioural Medicine Section for the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
