Don't belive a word he is saying, why? It no logic behind it! Just listen to the way i talk, spooky. LDL particles just get trapped in the arteries more often when the consentration is a little higher? You gotta be stupid to belive in this!
He said that LDL particles don't cross the blood-brain barrier and that the brain makes all the cholesterol it needs, so there's no worry about lowering LDL too much. But that ignores the fact that statins do cross the blood-brain barrier, especially the lipophilic statins, so they can produce cognitive impairment.
How a renowned society puts a presentation on the treatment of any heart disease on an open video platform, providing access to medical information to a lay audience? This is, at the very least, complete irresponsibility. A shame.
Appreciate your organization posting such excellent grand Rounds. I am a community Intensivist in the US and your lectures helped me take care of my patients better.
I like the idea of knowing more about this situation I just wish they could explain it in more of a laymen’s terms. I have a highschool degree and most of the information given on these sites are addressed to Doctors. To me these sites are to deal with the general public they need to be more simpler for people who are enduring this problem.
I am really thankful for this video. I am a patient having experienced an acute type B aortic dissection. Initially it was medically treated only but about three months on I had Tevar. It was very hard to get a full explanation of what I was experiencing as the vascular team and Doctors, Nurses and others were not informative or forthcoming with what was happening. It will be 24 months on 3rd of December and I am still here so I guess that’s something lol.
The most evidence-based presentation from one of the most trusted medical profession in this area. I was so disappointed that this vdo has not been popularly viewed among people. There are a lot of pseudoscientists in social media who gave wrong advises to people regarding to cholesterol and the risk of ASCVD.
This is very interesting! My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (PD) 12 years ago. With all the reading we do, I have never read anything like this before. With that said, will these simple exercises help with PD related Orthostatic Hypotension as well?
Thank you. I have pre-syncope. Doc thought I might have POTS but I didn't want to do a tilt-table test to confirm. Having this prob as part of my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. These exercises looks great. My doc also told me to keep track of salt & water intake, & wear compression stockings. Anyone with lightheadedness, it's great peace of mind to consult a cardiologist & get it checked out
