I saw a video about that F-15 flight with almost all of the wing gone. That was a very cool story, and herowing effort by those fighter pilots!

I keep a spare set of the viper retracts loaded with new pins when ever I fly this bird. It’s easier to just pull the unit then fighting with a pin. I change the pin when I get home.

Totally - it's crazy! It ALMOST doesn't clear the prop, but when you get in the air, it's a blast!!!

It totally is if you can drag out your takeoff (so you don't have to pull up too much) it's amazing in the air...it sucks you in, and captivates you as a pilot. I wonder if it's somewhat the "fear" of the weirdness, or if it's just that I LOVE F-14's???

That's what I was trying DESPERATELY to get out of my brain!!!!!! That was super frustrating - when on camera, all math skills disappear, and sometimes simple things are just * GONE * ...then when the camera stops rolling * POOF * immediately remember it. Strange how that works.

I agree. This plane isn't hard to fly, but it's WEIRD to take off and land, with the pusher limiting your pitch angles...other than that, just respect the elevator limits (LOL - watch out for buildings - LOL) and you'll be fine ;)

I fixed the main gear with a broken drill bit - LOL!!! I totally should have filmed the repair, as we often do, but I was like - this zombie plane isn't going to fly again, then like 25 minutes later it was 95% perfect!!!! Then I crashed into the house - LOL LOL LOL - had it fixed in like 10 minutes while we got ready to film another video, had toothpicks sticking out all over the place...she's ready to hit the skys again. I can't believe how much fun it is to fly!!! I hope it shows, but this one is just a blast - but I realize I'm preaching to the choir. I want to setup flaperons and tailevons, rather than tailevator...I think I could make this thing AMAZING!

@@BrianPhillipsRC I find that low rates work best on it as you can get into trouble with it at times. (Looks like a basketball in the air at times. ) I fly the prop one with a 4S 2700 and get 4mins on it and it lighter to fly. The EDF I use a 3200 and get the same time. First time I flew it I had to land after 1 min due to me and everyone else laughing to hard. As for the main gear pins just get some 3mm rod and cut a few pins for it. I use my DX9 just for this plane as I have uploaded Top Gun sounds to it just for these planes. Wish I could do that with my NX10. It is a blast to fly.

The Evo is great but a slow roll rate and with how her aileron pushrods are set up very difficult to increase travel to achieve a high roll rate. The Evo will be a much better choice for a plane that can handle slow flight and grass. The tricycle landing gear and wheel pants on the Cherokee will limit usefulness in rough dirt or rocky surfaces and they are much more fragile. With the Evo being a tail dragger, she will not be that hard to deal with on the ground, as far as tail draggers go, that is. Just remember rudder control, alittle rudder is allot. The Evo has the power to jump into the air before ground handling issues may develop. The Cherokee would be a good second plane. I would recommend the new e-flite commander mpd 1.4m over really any plane. Just an amazing plane, more fun than the Evo or Cherokee ever thought of being and more light flying and agile pluss unbeleivably stable and predictable, fast too, unlimited verticle, trust me! I fly everything and my collection is nice( not beat up from bad landings). If you where to loose the wheel pants and put a bit larger tires on the Cherokee, then that would bring her along way towards grass and rough dirt strips, pluss then your front gear would have more durability. Anyway hope that helps. One other thing, if you have the money and want the easiest and best edf jet ever, with tons of verticle POWER for effortless flying, get the e-flite 90mm viper. Even as a first edf!! Trully. There are others that rock at a much lower price point but the vipers off the charts and easy. As easy to land an rotate as a trainer. Cheers, hope that helps you out. Rc flying is the best. 👍👌🤛😍😜also setting up expo, on your gimbals, for your flight control surfaces, is your friend. Don't be afraid to try 25 to 40% expo, you'll love the feel.
