This is one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed...The late great Maestro Ennio Morricone is in a class by himself. This most beautiful of themes was composed for the movie of the same name "Once Upon A Time In The West." The movie version is second to none. And the soprano singing in the original movie version is none other then the great Soprano Ms. Edda Dell 'Orso. Her voice is heard so far above the music, and one can only close their eyes and just listen. Priceless!.

I am Italian, for us Morricone is a national symbol and this is one of his most beautiful and touching compositions. I also recommend the main theme of the film Mission

Ennio Morricone...who recently passed away at age 92...this was the first piece of his music that I ever heard...it is the theme from the movie "Once Upon a Time in the West" and was played at various times through out the movie...the music so overpowered me as I watched that I stayed for the credits to roll just to find out who had written the music...though I have listened hundreds of times since then to numbers of his compositions this very first piece might possibly be my favorite...he is gone...but the beauty he created remains...it has been said that Morricone could write a score for someone washing dishes, and when the film was over, somehow you'd think it was the best thing you had ever seen.

Soprano Patricia Burda Janečková was one of the bright lights of the opera world. Her young life and promising career were tragically cut short by cancer to which she succumbed at the age of 25. She died on October 1, 2023.

A wonderful analysis. A beautiful piece of music performed by a true artist, yet it will be largely ignored by most people. I just hope that Patricia's unique talent can introduce, and open up the minds of more people to her wonderful art, and also to the music she sings.

( click the one with the Front photo of André in a white with black trim tuxedo. After you re convinced like millions of others around the world, then please follow with his version of “ Caruso” “ Time to say goodby” in English and Italian. Only a handful of world class male countertenor vocalists and Andre is among them.

A wonderful movie in which the main characters all had their own musical themes when entering. The original version in the movie was done better than this(including the vocals.. sorry). But the music is so good it sounds great no matter who does it. I believe this movie stayed in the cinema in France for two years, it was so popular.
