I made this video in memory of Patricia Janečková on the day of her funeral. It's so sad, she is only 25 years old, I have to do something. So I made this video and dedicated it to Patricia, the only thing I can do.

It is the first time in my life I have been truly and profoundly moved by death of someone I didn't even know in person. Patricia has gone, but her legacy and spirit would stay with us forever.

I'm crying now as I sit in my computer room watching this devastatingly sad video. 😭I first saw Patricia singing in that beautiful blue dress in the talent show when she was 12 years old. I cried then as I am now. I was 67 years old then and I have kept track of her music and videos ever since. I had my 80th birthday on 9/7 three weeks before Patka left us and it was on Oct. 2 when I first saw the terrible news. 😢 In America we have a saying; 'the good die young' and that was never more true than on Oct. 1. This is a fitting tribute to a beautiful and wonderfully talented person. The past few days have been very emotional - I first saw a video showing Patricia’s wedding which made me so happy as I thought it was a signal of her recovery as I couldn’t read the non-English text and commentary. It lifted me. Then the RU-vid algorithms did their thing and started presenting me videos that were frankly crushing. For a brief time I was thinking again, selfishly, how I could look forward to enjoying Patricia’s career resume its unstoppable rise to great heights, but it wasn’t to be. We’re often told that a way to deal with such emotions is to focus on celebrating the life that has passed. I will try my best. My thoughts are with those truly close to Patricia for their loss.
I completely agree with you. I also am crying as I watch and write this. She has been tragically martyred in the war that is called COVID. I prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet for her today. She is in the arms of our Blessed Mother Mary, looking at the Face of our Lord, and singing to Him as only she can.

It wasn't until earlier this year that I heard of Maestra Janeckova's passing; the commercial TV networks in the United States of America are notorious for not making any mention of opera singers' deaths. I pray that this situation will change in the future. My condolences to Patricia's family and to the people of Slovakia.
I am from Canada and my father and I discovered this beautiful young lady when she was 14 or 15 years old and were taken by her beautiful voice and angelic look. My father has passed and I decided to look at past videos we watched together. When I saw this I was stunned, I had no idea she had gotten sick with cancer. To find out she has passed away deeply saddens me as I had hoped to hear more from her. I'm sitting here still in shock and sadness. Younger women diagnosed with breast cancer have a higher mortality rate than middle aged women. This is because if a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer at a younger age it is more likely a genetically caused cancer which tend to be more aggressive and less responsive to treatments. Younger women die of breast cancer at about the same rate as elderly women. She was so beautiful and talented.

I absolutely agree. I only stumbled upon her existence about 3 hours ago. What an amazing voice : what a devastating loss to the world. Even more amazing was that we were in Prague at the time of her passing but, not speaking the language, I obviously didn't know what the local headlines were saying.

I just learned of Patricia's passing this morning. I am on a bicycle tour, camped in the desert in the US. At about 1700 in Slovakia I played her singing "O Mio Babino Caro" from when she was a child. A songbird flew over to a bush next to me and started singing along. Somehow that seemed fitting. It brings me great sadness to say goodbye. Peace be with you Patricia.

I saw this video just now. I am deeply shocked to see that Patricia has passed away. I started to cry. She was so young, beautiful and talented. However, it is comforting that her talent was noticed early on and she got the opportunity to perform, sing and record at such a young age. Now she sings in the heavenly choir. 🙏😇

What words can comfort those who were close to her and loved her? From what I can see in this video it looks like she packed a lot of living into the years she was here and left us with more beauty than most people ever have or ever will.
