My neighbor raised her pit from a newborn puppy. When it was about 8 months old, it shredded her arm to the bone, tore her shoulder apart, and shredded her thighs to the bone... She was screaming "help, he's going to kill me!!!!!" I ran over to the most grizzly sight I have ever seen. There was blood and ripped up flesh E ERYWHERE. It had her leg in its mouth and she was slamming the sliding door on its head trying to get it off of her. The fkg thing was trying to maul her 18 month old baby. I grabbed that baby so fkg fast and left the mom there. I called 911 and a few marines ran out of their homes to help. The mother lived, and thankfully the baby was unharmed. This happened on a military base where the breed is supposed to be banned.

I’ve worked with animals my whole life and certain breeds have tendencies that are bred into them. They may be the sweetest dog in the world but you don’t trust them because they are still animals. I’ve seen some sweet pits but I’ve met a majority with a tendency towards aggression even with good training.

The most incredible part, these white women who defend the living, breathing, and thinking pitbull for injuring or killing will blame the previous owner of the pitbull for the violence this living creature decided to commit. I had a pit bull that I would walk near the woods and have him go after small new trees maybe as thick as a baseball bat and he would keep gnawing it until it snapped. A ladies arm would take maybe 15 seconds for him to rip through.

I was attacked by one that was allowed to roam a Vet clinic for years. I wasn't giving off bad vibes or fear or anything, have always had big dogs, have dobermans now...I was grieving over having to put my Shih-Tzu to sleep, waiting in the hall for them to finish wrapping her in her favorite blanket, pit was at the other end and just lunged. Luckily the door was unlocked and interrupted the wrapping. The vet then proceeded to come back to see what the fuss was and insisted I must have done something wrong.

I work at an animal hospital. Vast majority of the time when a pittbull comes in the owners are greasy and scummy looking or it's a tiny naive looking young woman. Also, 3/4 of the time I don't even work with the dog, I can't a lot of the time because it's aggressive and I have to have the owners come into the back of the kennel to retrieve their dog because I'm not getting bit.

My dad use to have a pittbull but him and my mom waited until the pittbull died to have me because they never fully trusted it.

My neighbor had a boarder living with her that had a pit-bull. The dog was super friendly when adults were around and I'd hold my 2 year old daughter at the 4 foot wooden fence so she could see and pet it. One evening, my daughter was playing near the fence and saw the "puppy" and started heading towards the fence. I saw the pit-bull crouch like a predator does when it's ready to attack; it did not see me. As she got closer to the fence to put her arm through the pickets, it started rushing the fence when I screamed "HEY!". It stopped immediately and acted like it was doing nothing wrong. Later, I told the dog owner "I just want to let you know your dog rushed the fence towards my kid". His reply: "Nah, she's a good dog...she'd never do that. She's never bit anyone..." I showed him the bricklayer's hammer I was keeping on the corner of my deck from that point on and said "Just letting you know: if your dog ever bites or snaps at my kid, I WILL kill it." He laughed, thinking I was kidding. I wasn't. A few weeks later, the dog bit two kids at their Memorial Day party and he had to get rid of it per my neighbor. To this day, I shudder when I think what would have happened had I not been there to stop the dog. It would have tore her arm through that fence, if not more.

I got a family member who got a pitbull as a puppy an it grew up with a bunch of kids. It had a great loving family but one day it bust thru a window an tore the leg off a 8yo girl. Shit tier dogs imo. Yea some are good, but they are bred to be the dumbest most violent things. An in the dog world they arent all that strong. I owned five pitbulls at the same time and I was never unarmed in case they went after something or myself and never took out more than one at a time. I was more than prepared and willing to take them out at any moment.

There’s a reason certain breeds like the Golden retriever are considered good family dogs . They won’t bite your baby’s face off . Also important other dog bites rarely kill a person , the Pitt bulls bite is designed to kill and dismember .

I take my dog to a local park. There's a couple of well behaved pitts, but holy shit, every time a new one comes in, there's this count-down period before the owner realizes they can't take their dog anywhere. They've either thrashed another person's dog or come close.

If you have one, it's harder to rent if you are a renter. And you can't go to a dog park since a pitbull is literally bred to be dog aggressive. And they are extremely dangerous to have around just about any kind of animal from cats to horses. They just lower your quality of life AND lower the quality of life for everybody else around you. Even if you lived in the country, you'd have to worry about the dog getting lose and killing your neighbor's cow or sheep.
