Ensign Hans Jensen was a Naval aviator from Utah who singlehandedly discovered the Japanese fleet silently approaching the U.S. Navy from an unexpected direction and launched his own attack on the Japanese while notifying his Naval commanders. As a result of his bravery, the US was able to repel the Japanese fleet in one of the largest naval battles in history. Sadly, Ensign Jensen was killed shortly thereafter in a tragic training accident.
