The lyrics of this song so perfectly fit the bluegrass genre. lots of religious imagery, and dark subjects. I would suspect some old bluegrassers around here would love the song ,never having heard the original.
I have enjoyed listening to this version so much for a long time. Driving to work each morning it was my go to track and I sang along like no one was watching. I feel kind of guilty for the value I have had from this performance and I haven't paid a bean for it. Thank you Iron Horse. 🍻
Ten minutes ago my wife says, "I wonder why their isn't a country version of Enter Sandman", so I jumped on youtube and...lo and behold....this is close enough for me!
when u get to the age of 69 , spinal surgeries , brain problems due to drs.....and u here this music and u say god damn, makes me want to shout for joy.....You guys are doing something that is a very strong stimulant to me and more than most also.....good jobs fellers..... God bless and get it done Iron Horse........rock on in blue grass, thanks for making me feel better in my life.....dlt
A thousand +s. No, a million!! I got my first banjo when I was 12. I first banged my head to Metallica when I was 18 at Monsters of Rock in Memphis in 1988. I've been listening to you guys in my garage for years. I know every inflection of your voices in this song! To see the video blows me away. Y'all are awesome!!!
+Install Gentoo Add honey. Pro tip: assemble from bottom up, PB, banana, honey. Add top slice of bread, and flip. This allows to honey to settle into the bread, and increases the distance from the sink you can safely eat the sandwich
Let me just say I grew up around bluegrass my whole life and I am only 17. I have seen and heard many great bluegrass bands, pickers, fiddlers, ext.... And I would like to thank you Iron Horse for bringing it to the younger generation of people who didn't realize how great this music genre really is. Thank You :)
I have never in my life been so impressed by the variety of covers Iron Horse has chosen to play. Thank you, so much and look forward to ‘new’ stuff! Your rendition of ‘Rocket Man’ had me in tears, as it was such a tribute to Sir Elton John! Five days in a row I said ‘yes, yes’ I heard it...but, when I did...I was....I can’t get enough people to listen to it! Please, don’t stop what you’re doing!
I love this cover. This group is something beyond amazing, their performance live must be awesome! keep up the good work and giving us wonderfull songs de hear again!!!
Late to the party! My husband bought me this CD for Christmas - die hard Metalllica fan. I LOVE IT. Wonderful musicians and harmonies are fabulous. I particularly LOVE Hero of the Day. Whole album is marvellous. Thank you x
I grew up with Metallica and I grew up with bluegrass, and I must admit that I like this version better than the original one. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it's true. This is just fantastically good.
Absoutely fan freaking tastic rendition!, dudes. What a refreshing cover sound. Who would have thought that bluegrass can consume and recycle metal?!! New fan of yours now
Almost all metal songs and blues songs do. They have rock has origins in blues and bluegrass and so does metal (metal much more so, just using different instruments)
Wow! Really great! I just looked around on RU-vid because I was bored. I didn't expect to find such a great song in that great quality with a great video! Nice Interpretation!
Your music is like warm Kentucky sunshine and a glass of Bourbon for my ears. Who would have thought the lyrics to Enter Sandman would sound so appropriate in Bluegrass?
EPIC ! I cant get enough of Iron Horse.... Dangggggg COME TO CANADA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pleassssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeee
It's weird how 4 instruments change a song completely. They make it seem as if though the song was originally written for these instruments!! Very cool
Coming from a non-native speaker who usually has a hard time making out lyrics, this song is really easy to understand. I'm sure the joke is funny if you're illiterate.
I called in this song request at WICB (Ithaca College Ithaca NY) bluegrass/folk program "The Hobo's lullaby" . The DJ said that he's making Iron Horse get air play every week. I also love their covers of Led Zeppelin and Modest mouse
IronHorseBluegrass You guys ever had the opportunity to play the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco? I'm a huge fan of Iron Horse and I mentioned y'all to them by e-mail a couple of years ago but never heard back if they invited you.
Pr3ct Someone says this every time a band covers Metallica. I'm aware of the Napster incident but I don't think Lars has tried to sue any bands covering their material. In fact, Lars actually lent his lawyers to Beatallica so they could defend themselves 'cos they were getting sued by Beatles' record label!
No offence, but If you saw one of these guys on the street and they were like..."yeah I'm in a METALLICA cover band!" you'd be like "...Get the F* outta here!" But yup, sure enough they are. That's awesome!! A pretty cool Metallica cover band I might add.
I've always found it amazing that two genres of music so far apart from each other can work so well when one is played in the style of the other. I'm a bluegrass guitar picker who grew up on both bluegrass and metal. It's like a match made in heaven. Now we just need Cradle of Filth to do Blue Moon of Kentucky. :D
If you’re wandering the woods any normal night and hear this song, that means something’s coming for you. If you’re in the south, you hear this. And that means something is still coming for you, but they’re bringing a Pabst blue ribbon and will be wearing flannel
