@@JeffRauseo HiJeff , I've been a fan of "Films At Home" for a long time, but I follow your work and I appreciate it immensely. I can confidently say that I was a collector from Poland. Today, it is an exaggeration. Physical media in Poland are disappearing from art house cinema to the mainstream. Films on DVD and Blu Ray are released only thanks to the distributor Kino Świat, Best Film (several films a year) and Galapagos (part of Warner Bros Polska) with a limited catalog of WB, Universal, Paramout and Disney. I know that your channel is watched by a lot of influential people. Get excited if at least European distributors (butique labels) offer CDs with POLISH SUBTITLES. This is important and necessary, because the market and demand (and the hunger for fresh cinema) are still alive here. Our letters to distributors did not help. Hope in you. Besides, "Enter the Dragon" was a huge theatrical hit in Poland. Taking into account the statistics, at one time every other Pole saw this film (at the cinema). "Enter the Dragon" was a huge hit on DVD and Blu Ray in Poland. Editing in 4K will not work with us.

Great review, Jeff. Just in case you weren’t aware, the Blu Ray version of Enter the Dragon from the Croterion Collection contained lossless audio in 5.1 and I believe in mono also. I love my Croterion Collection Blu Ray but I’ll probably pick up one of these 4K versions.

There's also the 40th anniversary bluray that came before the criterion and after the 2007 original, that was the first to be truly remastered with lossless audio and it was a night and day difference to the original bluray, now we have another with the 4k edition and I think Jeff is right, we've hit the pinnacle of this classic

The best martial arts film of all time, Seven Samurai, was recently released in SDR 4kUHD by Toho in Japan on June 21st, which hopefully indicates Criterion will be putting it out on 4k here in the states in about a year or so, surely with an HDR grade added.

This film was insanely influential in many regards. Probably the most influential was that both Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan were in it, the two greatest post-Lee Chinese martial arts stars. Sammo had already been working with Lee as a stunt/fight coordinator and on-screen stunt/fight guy and Jackie was mainly a background stunt guy.

I'm over the pond here in the UK. My 4K Enter The Dragon arrived on Monday, and I watched it today 11.08.23 It looks and sounds fantastic, plus, here in the UK we have a 4K and BluRay disc in the set, with all the special features too. One of my all time fave movies 👍👍👍

Watched this in 4K yesterday on a scope screen at the cinema. The movie has never looked or sounded so good. Huge applause from the audience at the end. There was also an introduction by Shannon Lee.

The Blu-Ray of ETD in the Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest Arrow box set is that very same Warner Bros. 40th anniversary Blu-Ray so it has all those special features.

Actually… Dolby Surround Sound came to theaters in the mid 70’s, though it was only 4 channels. My Mom said she saw the Exorcist in Surround in the theaters in Hollywood, when it came out, and she said they really made a big deal about that. That came out in 1973 and so did this film 🤷‍♂️… Anyway I’m Excited with this release! Thanks for the review

They are literally cutting costs by putting the special features on the digital copies through iTunes. I bought the digital copy for 4.99 and got a ton of special features with it. Not sure if they’re all the same as the old Blu-ray though, as I don’t own it.

Thanks for the info on what is missing on the 4K and I will then keep my Blu Ray copy for the special features. Lot of the time I will combine my blu ray disk into the 4k case. Did that when I would upgrade from DVD to Blu Ray.

You could also buy the Current 4K and just buy a used copy of the old bluray, as far as i understand the "bonus" disc in the limited set is just a reprint of the old BR.

Hi Jeff, great channel. I live in the UK and have recently purchased a copy of the standard edition 4k,but instead of a digital copy included we get a standard blu ray with all the special features.

I’m in the UK and having just bought this I can confirm the UK version also includes the Blu-ray extras disc, which is kinda weird as we rarely get special treatment. But it includes the ‘Bruce backyard workout’ you mention. What i never saw previously was the strange small spot of film burn in the shot where Bruce catches the apple. Also, at 47.40mins, during Jim Kelly’s fight, what the heck happens to the camera?!? It looks like the whole screen dips or something.

I’m in the US and had preordered from the UK. I canceled when I realized the blu ray was simply a copy of the 40th anniversary edition, which I own twice, when it was originally released and they also have it in the Arrow box set.

I've changed my 4K collecting habits now, I tend to just wait for the inevitable limited edition or steelbook release. So sick of getting a film then 6 months later it gets released with all the bells and whistles so I'm waiting now, got the limited edition of Enter the Dragon ordered!

I myself bought the Best Buy exclusive steelbook, which contains the same 4K disc, but I own the blu-ray edition with all the features on it so I just stuck that into the steelbook w the 4K disc (there’s enough room for both to fit securely in there) & saved myself $50 since I don’t need all the extra stuff in the limited edition (I mostly care about A/V & special features & I do love steelbooks as well) just another option for collectors out there that don’t want to spend $85 on the limited one.

Warner Bros. has taken a serious nosedive in the last few years. They've been skimping on the standard blu-rays with their newer 4K releases and those blu-rays tend to have most of the special features.

Never really been a Bruce Lee fan, even though martial arts are my favorite genre of film. I do like Enter the Dragon however, so I'll probably end up picking this up. The standard 4K version is fine for me, as not only am I not big into Bruce Lee, but I'm not a big "special features" type of guy either. I appreciate having them, but since I very rarely watch them I'm not really willing to pay extra for them.

I'm not sure about this US release but the same UK release features..Both blu and 4k releases, making of enter the dragon, backyard work, out commentary, introduction, on location and loads more..so the US release standard got shafted tbh. No need for me to upgrade to the special edition because I have all the features from the previous UK blu on this 4k standard

If you wanna have the full package you don't have to buy the expensive special edition. Simply buy the european edtion. At least in Germany the 4k contains also the old bluray with all the (old) specials.

Any idea how this compares to the criterion? Not sure if you have both or not to compare

I am also interested as I do not own both. I have the WB 40th Anniversary Blu-ray from 2013, and the Criterion Collection box set. Someone told me the bitrate on this 4K Blu-ray is unusually low and that the audio mix on the Criterion is better. I can't confirm or deny that as I do not own both though.

Also worth mentioning that the limited edition is 3000 copies worldwide and seems to be sold out

Too bad Nora Miao wasn't in Enter the Dragon. I used to see her at my dad's restaurant in Toronto where she would always remind me to stop calling her "Auntie". 😅
