Agreed. 100%. But then I think of how backwards reality is nowadays that people will stand a record a murder, and other horrid things.....just for likes, viral, and etc. So this, as silly as it is, isn't that bad.

Funny because my husband and I were having this very same discussion last night, why is it so fascinating to watch or film something that we ALL take part in every day.. eating. There’s not a person or creature on this planet who hasn’t or doesn’t partake in what we are viewing right now.. and yes, I find it odd too. LoL I guess there are worse things we could be watching and I have to add that I never had an interest in this sort of “entertainment” until I got sick, I thought it was silly to watch someone else eat, I didn’t see the appeal. Now I find myself wondering what type of sandwiches Raina is eating bc she really didn’t say. LoL I was scheduled for a routine hernia repair, I was the first person on my surgeons docket and he went on a drunken binder the night before (never went home) and then showed up for surgery in his condition. He had always been a tyrant towards his interns, nothing new.. so when he said jump, they responded with how high! They suspected he was drunk (so I heard in court) but nobody said anything. During surgery the scalpel slipped out of his hands multiple times which in turn nicked my intestines in multiple places. It wasn’t repaired and I wasn’t informed until a year later as to why I was so sick and in pain. I could barely hold down water, my kids were grade school aged and I felt suicidal bc the pain was constant 24/7. The pain was horrific and taking my life was not an option although my thoughts were going there. I went back to that surgery twice and he brushed me off, he was very rude and mean. He told me to quit being a “sissy” if you can believe that. I went to OHSU for help too. This is when I was told about the damage he had done and ironically one of his interns came forward at the same time telling me of the “incident” and that he had no doubt the surgery was an alcoholic. In the meantime I lost so much weight that my clothing size was “0” and I looked like I had a severe eating disorder. When I finally got around to seeing my GP, his reaction was shock when he saw my appearance, his jaw literally dropped and told me I looked like a concentration camp victim! I will never underestimate my GP again, he saved my life compared to all the so called specialist I saw throughout that agonizing year. He told me that he didn’t care where my pain was coming from, it just need to stop. He also put me in a dark room with heated blanket during that visit and called someone from the ER to rehydrate me and give me a pain shot while I slept I through it for a cpl hours. My GP said that he didn’t understand how I was even walking upright with the type of damage that was done to me.. the answer to that was my kids, I didn’t want them to know how sick I was so I faked it the best I could. I’ve never liked the idea of narcotic but he prescribed multiple ones until we got it right. The human body will eventually adjust to pain, get used to it if you will. I eventually weened myself off the strongest fentanyl patch that can be prescribed along with Percocet and Demerol.. and now I’m left with still taking 3 morphine pills a day before each meal or I wouldn’t be able to eat, it too painful. This is where videos like Raina’s comes into play. Watching her videos and the like actually gives me an apatite. It’s crazy even to me that I’m watching content like hers..but it works! LoL Oh my gosh, I just noticed the size of this comment! My apologies, this is a subject I don’t talk about often let alone posting it for complete strangers to view. I found your comment interesting, intriguing.. and food for thought (no pun intended) as to why ppl would view such material as watching another person eat. Then I just started writing/venting about my medical turmoil and apparently I couldn’t stop! LoL I’m sitting here debating now if I should post this.. but maybe someone else out there is going through similar issues? The big finale to this story is that the surgeon actually called me 14 months after he botched my surgery and gave me a sob story about his wife leaving him and returning to England if he didn’t go to rehab. He then tried to convince me not to sue him if he sought help bc alcoholism is a disease so it wasn’t his fault. I think I laughed into the phone at him. My response was that he needed help regardless of the outcome and I hung up. Yes, I did sue him and won the case without question, the intern who came forward really helped. There are some loose ends though.. the big question is, should I sue the other 2 interns who did not come forward and I can actually sue the one who did as well bc he waited so long. It’s up for debate bc part of me feels bad for them, my heart is too big sometimes and I view them as young ppl merely trying to get through their internships without any strikes against them. The other part of me says that they participated in changing my life forever, I will never be pain free which effects my family too. Anyway, I apologize again for the long post and I hope the majority of ppl watching these videos are just “foodies” who enjoys watching other ppl eat. LoL 🤣😊🌻
