Thank you Miami! I like knowing about heating options. This heater has lots of valuable features that you review which are valuable over and above common heaters that I have experimented with and know about. Happy winter!
Would be interesting to see you put in a mini split in the living room pointed down the hall, (Mitsubishi H2i/Fijitsu/LGRED or Senville or even MRCool hyper heat) and see how it performs in winter, I had one back at my grandmas in NW Indiana and it kept the back room 73 when it was -7 out. It was the LGRED art cool 12K can heat at 100% at -5 and 78% at -22
Sounds like a great set up you explained. Problem I had was being able to heat that one room with the door closed is why I decided on the Envi heater. My heating cost are actually still fairly reasonable even though the rates have risen over the years quite a bit. Past few winters have also been fairly mild for the most part but we know in the Midwest it can get brutally cold mid winter.
Well, it also depends on what your outside temps are...I just ordered mine- a plug-in 1,000w for my 125sf room. I live in upstate N.H. where we get sub zero for most of the winter. Its Nov. 21st, and it was 9 degrees last night!! Typical...In Jan, we'll have 4 feet of snow and -22F to -35F most of the months of Jan-Feb-Mar
Very correct on the outside temperature being a major factor along with insulation and room size. Where I live it’s actually quite rare to dip below zero it does happen but not every winter. Typical winter weather here is 30’s in daytime and teens at night. With the 1000 watt model I would think you’d be good even in very cold weather heating only a 125 sq ft room. That heater is actually rated to heat up to 350 sq ft. You could help lots of viewers and myself if you would let us know the results after installing and using your Envi.
you said you have a 100 yr old home, so have you put new wiring in? Just curious. House I want to use it in is 1962 home and don't want it to trip breaker, etc. Thanks
All my electrical system was “out of code” when I moved in thus breaker box all all wiring in entire house was updated to new standards. It is very important when using any heater that wiring and socket are all in good shape and up to current codes for safety reasons.
Your litterally destroying the whole concept of this heater… it’s designed to pull cold air from the ground, heat it and flow out the top.. and you have objects directly in front of the area meant to open to be pulling the cold air from the room to make it hot air…
The table I have in front of heater actually doesn’t block any airflow from coming in bottom of heater. I did have to mount my Envi a little higher than I wanted due to the tall baseboards in my house. Nonetheless it works like a charm in the room I have it in.
