Just an update to my fuel mixing.. all the bench testing in the world does not prove anything except that you can make an engine run for a few minutes.. They must be proven over time in flight.. The first few flights on the OS G5 plug went well.. on the AvGas,, but then I started to have some starting and running issues.. I have since switched to a 94 octane pump gas with 50/1 full synthetic oil and adding 15% methonal to this.. this seemed to cure the starting and running issues.. Don't try to mix methonal with AvGas.. is does not work.. The glow plug I was using failed on me in flight.. it may have been damaged due to the other fuel mixes.. I don't know yet.. The experimentation is still on going but I am getting closer to having a good conversion that is flying.. Prehaps the G5 plug does not like the methonal.. I may go back to a Type F plug and try ..
could you try and burn e85 mixed with vege oil at varying amounts 60% vege 40% gas see if it bujrns with a hot plug !! thank you very much i appreciate you sharing your knowledge
Hmmm changed carb and fuels to no nitro. Looks like this engine is very versatile. I'll be hoping for a thorough up date. I own several of these. Thanks, Paul in Thailand
thanks for your interest.. perhaps check out my other videos.. but for now my fuel mix is 94 octane , oil of your choice. and I add 10% ethanol. so far this has proven to be a very reliable mix..
