@@cosmicmaster1006 oh shit I forgot about that Sorry the series kinda fell off after Savitar and now I'm trying to preserve the memories of back then by erasing the current memories of season 6-8
@@thescarletking3301 See, you say that, but you know about Godspeed, so clearly you're not repressing memories of seasons 6-8 Just don't bother correcting other people without being up to date yourself. Just a thought :)
He’s probably doing since that is a major point in time and would change everything, even if thawne could survive the change what future would he live in. It’s not charitable it’s survival and the fact that he doesn’t have his powers either
From what I can tell there’s at least 2 “versions” of Thawne in the timeline. Because he, Barry and the other speedsters keep changing the timeline so much and he keeps jumping in and out of time and other dimensions that he’s created something like a temporal duplicate.
Believe it or not this is the only version of Thawne to not be up to something. I was expecting him to pull a classic Thawne and screw everyone over too.
If this version of Thawne is as crafty as wells version of Thawne, he manipulated Robo Legends to kill him, so Sarah can take his place. He can be free and clock will reset. Thawne, just outsmarted the Legends. Including the Robos. Assuming what he told Sarah about "re-education" is true. Eobard thawne is not stupid to die, this could be one of his time remnant, or an aberration. And in the flash, he is dying. This is very confusing.
maybe you are right, why did he only give sara 40 minutes, the episodes are 40 minutes long, does that mean in the end of the episode sara will be trapped and eobard will go free and maybe he will go to flash (?) but this is just a theory, if they couldn't get him to crisis on infinite earths, they won't do this too.
@@herbox actually he's not only give sara 40 minutes to do all that, he also "postponed" the archduke death at the hand of pincip by 40 minutes. I might be wrong thou, but archduke franz could actually survive the assasination beyond that 40 minutes. Beside if thawne really does get out of fix point, this really confusing because it meant that someone/thing will replace him to guard this fix point. But that's a very interesting theory, great. 👍👍👍
Post crisis, we see how Thawne has become even more unhinged and revenge driven against the Flash. This version of Eobard is pre-Crisis, and scarily enough, still sane and calculatingly evil. Even without his speed, he's a dangerous force to be reckoned with. My bet is that by next episode or later down the line, he'll escape this fixed point in time, learn the fate of his post-crisis self, and either team up with him or murder him considering him to be weak.
Yes but in season 8 of the flash he kills only one person that I can remember of (Jesse L Martin) but he didn’t kill him permently only killed him so he was dead in reverse flash point barry easily reversed the death
At this point he's practically the purple guy of the series. No matter how many times you try to kill him, no matter what you do to stop him, no matter how many sacrifices are made, and no matter how much work you have to do in order to stop him he always comes back!
I disagree even though I like both actors I think Tom shows just how unhinged Thawne actually is and there is actual real anger and hatred between Wells Thawne and Barry than the actual thawne
@@theoutsiderjess4869 to be fair, there hasn't been much interaction between Matt's version and Barry. Sucks Legends use Matt's version of Eobard more than the actual Flash show does.
@@RobinsAssistant Scheduling. Matt has been working on other shows, and this only required him to show up for one episode. He could probably film his scenes in a day. Not so much for the flash.
@@multiverse_media2023 he’s born in 23rd century he can’t die until that point. And you cant kill him because he killed Barry’s mom which indirectly created the flash which also cant be changed because that itself is a fixed point for the flash.
@@Sconechoc What you on about? can you give the exact reference on when this is said? lol. of course he can die why else would he be running from black flash (legends season 2) if he wasnt afraid of dying and not existing 💀
@@wrestlingenjoyer you don't read the comics these shows are based on do you? Speedsters are, and pardon my language on this, ABSOLUTE FUCKING BULLSHIT. The Reverse Flash is literally the kid on the playground that keeps coming up with unfair counters to everything in the game you're playing because he can't accept losing even in a children's make-believe game.
I truly believe in my opinion Matt Letscher’s Eobard Thawne is truly the best villain in the Arrow verse hands down. I do hope they bring him back this season for The Flash. He’s money as far as ratings go!
I would really appreciate if the two Thawne's would meet up together, and just discuss how they both got to the part at they are in right now. that would be an interesting scene 😁
@@abominable.7800 black flash only came to kill savitar after iris survived , that never happened in his timeline ,because hes one of the temporal duplicates . iris surviving is what disrupted time thats why savitar was going to be erased no matter what . flash went back and saved him self as a kid saw himself multiples times from different times , you can see your self its fine , your thinking more of the timecop theory where u can see yourself but do not touch being as you are the same being and the same being cannot occupy the same time and space . back to the future touched on that theory too , doc brown interacted with him self but never touched cause he knew it could cause a paradox collapsing the universe . lookings free touchins gonna cost ya lol
This Thawne is like some kind of time clone of the original; a time remnant of a time remnant, you could say. The reason because when Thawne was erased by Black Flash, the Legends’ future selves traveled back in time and met their past selves, creating a timequake, and causing anachronisms to occur, and that’s where original Thawne comes in with the Earth-Xers. He was pulled from the moment of his death in world war 1 and became an anachronism, as well as a time remnant. Similar to how he was pulled from his death as a result of Flashpoint, after Barry reset the timeline, he probably woke up in the present and had these memories of being held captive and Flashpoint that never originally happened to him. Though, the difference is that the Legends used another form of time travel, and as an anachronism created by it, Thawne was no longer bound by the rules of the Speed Force, whereas with Flashpoint, he was, because it was the result of a speedster time traveling. This Thawne is similar in that regard, because the Speed Force pulled him back from death, so he’s still bound by its rules. Maybe we’ll see him interact with Team Flash and his other self in the future.
@Kyojin I get that. But, the Legends knew him and fought him again in the Crisis on Earth-X crossover and them creating anachronisms would explain his return. So, the fact that he’s been in prison for the time being and has no memory of what happened after season 2, it makes sense that the Thawne here is a clone or time remnant of the original.
@Kyojin Well, obviously, he’ll be the final villain. He’s The Flash’s arch nemesis. But, maybe this other reformed version of him will be the key to defeating the original in the future.
@@staplejack5336 no this thawne is the one from legends who was erased by black flash only to be revived by time wraiths and re-educated on the time line and his punishment was to preserve time letting the duke die.
At this point they shoul not explain how he survives each death. Seems like the writers of this shitshow seems to overuse the character dry, and they somehow have some ass pull of a explanation why he is alive. Why bother to think logically.
First of all, thawne can’t fully die as the current timeline existed due to him killing Barry’s mom. As such a time remnant will always exist to ensure the timeline doesn’t collapse. That’s why thawne came in flash season 2. However thawne’s timeline ends at flash season 1. But cos Barry pulled the remnant out of the timeline during flashpoint. The remnant knew how to survive his death and black flash was sent to kill him off in legends season 2 which happened. So idk whether the thawne we see here is the same guy in crisis on earth x and flash season 5 7 and 8
Honestly the Wells Thawne from S7-8 just feels out of place at this point. Same with S5 tbh (though I kinda don't care cause I hated S5). I mean S1 made sense and with the crossovers you never know how he got there but it's like they don't want Matt Letsch interacting with the flash cast or something. It's so dumb. He is set to appear in Flash S8, but who knows if it'll be because we will see his whole future and whole story or if it'll be a one-off or like 4 episodes where nothing is resolved (something the show has been doing since S7 pretty much).
Thawne is not kind of person that will need help desperately. So when he went to Barry to get his help from being erased from timeline, he must have had a plan. I think they will connect the next episode to armageddon part 5 that this is just a part of thawne's plan xD
@@lolerie That is exactly what I was thinking. I think that THIS Thawne is going to be the one who will race Barry in 2024 , which is pretty close now (how much time flies by) and he will eventually kill the Thawne we have in the flash rn (with Well’s face) , replace him , and somehow regain his speed. And with Nora and Bart doing something to Eddie Thawne (eobard’s ancestor) in the next flash episodes , something will happen in the future which will lead us to FINALLY see eobard’s origin story and THIS Thawne will finally figure out Barry’s full identity and the rest goes downhill for barry from here. My theory is that barry will survive after that final race , but since we don’t see him in nora and Bart’s future , some hit my probably happened to him that took away his speed. Permanently. Maybe barry had to sacrifice his speed one last time to save his past self in the 80s as we see in the first episode of the flash. This bringing the story FULL circle and the story repeats itself over and over again.
@@shadowrev2914 yeah, I also do not get it. They never told us how we got Thawne in Earth X with Nazis. Maybe Nazis revived him? 😜 that's what happened in the comics, Thawne though about getting protections, like Sidius in latest Star wars.
Plot Twist: Eobard used the Legends to kill him so he could be freed from this time prison and be placed back into the Flash’s timeline where he could continue his journey and existence as the Reverse Flash.
I'm kind of hoping that this thawne confronts the other thawne and kills him. The thawne that we see in the flash is basically unhinged and has lost sight of himself. While this thawne is much more stable and closer to how he was before, he started rewriting the timeline. To better describe what I mean, I want to point to comic book thawne. Ever since he turned into a living paradox, he's been becoming more and more unhinged and focused solely on tormenting barry, and it wasn't till we got to the negative flash comics that that madness started getting peeled back, showing thawne's original motives. Also hoping that we get a retelling from the comics where current flash goes to the future, meets thawne while he's still a flash fan (and faking crimes to be a superhero) and possibly re educate that thawne so that he doesn't go evil.
Mhm, yup. I already know that even with Thawne in his current situation, this little conversation with Sara has already gotten him starting to cook up his own hidden agenda that he can benefit from if Sara’s plan works out. I honestly don’t think he would just agree to help the Legends out without some ulterior motive. Just wait and see. 👀🙄😂
I would like to see in a series dedicated only to Thawne, a series that also presents his story, his life... because he seems to me a special character, a character that seems bad but deep down he is not. ..I would like to know more about him.
Okay now I have no idea why they didn't just ask Matt Lescher to play the recent reverse flash appearances on the flash, since he is clearly willing to come back to the role.
You know I just realized a huge plot hole... the rf in the crisis on earth x crossover escaped and the rf in season 5 also escaped. Now barry pulled the rf from the past to help him beat godspeed in season 7 and that rf was the one that caused armageddon. So now that rf lost his speed and there are still 2 rf that are roaming around freely 😐
Reverse Flash's whole gimmick in the comics is that he's a living paradox. If there's one character who gets a pass from having an overly complicated and contradicting story as to how he's even alive, it's him
Wait, if the time wraiths gave him the ability to stop time, then why not just let him keep his speed? He moves so fast that time stands still. Why not make him something like they did to Zoom/Black Flash. I mean other than that, I was really glad to see him. Love Matt’s version.
Also remember how Abracadabra told Barry about the coalition or something, which are a group of time keepers like the the time masters were? They could have been the ones behind Thawnes resurrection instead of the time wraiths. I mean those speed force dementors are not building a time loop device, come on.
Im glad that the followed up on the Thawne from Flashpoint I want to see him meet up with the Thawne that helped the Nazis, corrupted Nora, possesed Nash, killed Godspeed and that is now in prison without powers. Im sure Tom and Matt would get along
came to see their point? Thawne knew when we first met him that history should not be screwed with. I dunno what changed post his time with Nazi Oliver and Kara that turned him into what we've seen recently. But I'm glad he's rediscovered the lesson he tried to teach Barry on do-over day: Screwing with the timeline sucks.
the time wraiths had a plan for eobard, because if you give him a goal, then he is unstoppable on giving up his goal. It is really beyond our understanding. But also, remember, thawne NEVER gives up his goals, his goal is to defeat the flash, the speed is his life, why wouldn't he kill himself unless he has a back-up plan. And also Sara was the one who stopped eobard, technically she killed him, so eobard wouldn't help. 3:18 look at his facial expressions, maybe it's just me, or eobard is angry because she killed him.
THEORY : The Many faces of Eobard Thawne Long Life Enemy of The Flash Eobard Thawne ( Matt Lecher ) finds out his identity of The Flash aka Barry Allen . So he travels back in time and creates a fix point and murders Barry s mother after failing to kill Barry as a child. With all that , Eobard creates a new Time Line , changing Barry s past completely and Eobard loses his connection to The Speed Force . However his plan was that this time line is a pocket time line and if he is patient and gets the hero to help him , he can return to his own time before he changes to much. Eobard Thawne takes the image and mind of Harrison Wells in order to create a Particle Accelerator way before it s time so an inexperienced Flash can be bent and trained until he creates a stable worm hole so that he can go through. However there is another reason for the Particle Accelerator : So Eobard can connect to the Speed Force and then later to the Negative Force Because Barry s time line changed , Eddie Thawne was born either early , too late or choose another career path just enough to prevent Eobard from being born . When Eobard takes Eddie he holds him for days , enough time to get a bit of his blood so that he can match the time line and so Eobard survives and goes to Earth X Between season 1 ending and season 4 Thawne was on Earth X but Barry changed the timeline creating another version of Eobard and that version went on Legends and created his perfect World without The Flash in it but he wore his original face . But was killed by Black Flash . However Eobard was successful on getting on Earth X and when he was defeated he ended up captured and crossed the timeline of original Nora West Allen . He escaped Nora s time line but Crisis happened and Eobard got Erased by the Anti Monitor Wave . However it was enough to wake The Negative Speed Force and force it s way to Nash Wells body . He could barley do it . But The Flash expelled The Negative Speed Force and went dormant . With the Help of Iris and Nora The Speed Force , he was able to materialize in a quick living Form but which represents fear and hatred, the face that crawled Barry s skin petting him when he was sick . That is The Negative Speed Force just hatred and it remembers why indeed Thawne hates Barry from The Flash past the original past After The Flash was faster and not equal he started the events of Armageddon and in the end Barry left The Negative Speed Force in this time as an empty battery . Since The Negative Speed Force is not human but pure energy who lost his energy he can no longer generate a body with Super Speed . Whatever ends up happening in Legends of Tomorrow , The Legends Version of Thawne will use the quantum splicer to unite with the source of his power on a molecular level thus gaining his speed and all the knowledge destroying for good The Face of Tom Cavanough reverting to Matt s version of Eobard Thawne BONUS : Since Eobard will reconnect on a molecular level to the source of his speed The Negative Speed Force , he will be equal as speeds to The Flash because his power source on a molecular level is infinite and equal to Barry ( also infinite but there cant be 2 infinities , only one sharing various stuff ). The Negative Speed Force could not go faster because the body / face he choose to show up was limited . The body was basically inside and the negative speed force was out , exposed . However the body can be as fast as any speedster because on a molecular level he can equal the power source based on how fast a speedster uses his speed
I really like this reverse flash over the Dr. Wells... never understood why in other timelines or other time periods he is the same and not this Eobard...
@Arrowverse Scenes i have finally complete the full story of Eobard Thawne and the difference Between him and The Negative Speed Force in the CW s The Flash . If you can take your time to read it it s worth it
Makes sense, has to stay alive to the point where current flash becomes the one that saves his younger self then becomes the bolt to give himself powers in 2013
Something tells me the Time wraiths is just another name for the writers! Who hates it the most when you mess with time AKA the story the most? Who loves to bring back Thawn over and over after he keeps dying?
I've watch this at least 5 times, i like these two characters just _talking._ Shoulda let him keep his speed, but then Lance wouldn't stand a chance & the bargain of her taking his watch/place wouldn't be a plot point. That entire plot thread hinges on Thawne being nerfed/vulnerable.
Thawne is great this way!!!! From a villain to a redeemed hero !!!! That means Thawne Always had a good side inside of him but he needed help to embrace The Light and destroy the darkness to his self Redemption Is Great It Makes You Capable Of Saving Your Life And Your Soul And To Unite With God Jesus Christ And This Means That With This Action The Redemption You Will Not Get Lost In The Forever chaos!!!!!
