Very, very nice video mupet00000! I just ordered exact the same module with a DAB+ module because the stock reception of the Mazda 3 is really bad. I also send them a lot of questions before my purchase and always got a answer back (sometimes 1-2 days before they answer). Based on your orther two reviews I bought this newest model. After seeing this video I am convinced that it is a good buy! Im looking forward to receive them!
Great video. You said you don't use the radio which I understand. But can you explain how good the quality is also do you still get the artist and song titles scroll on the radio function regards Ian
Ian Bentley hi, the unit shows which radio station you are listening to but I havent seen it display track titles. Also on the small car lcd it just displays the FM MHz rather than the station name.

VR Kommando no they have fixed that problem. When you start the engine and the unit is already on, the screen goes black for a few seconds and the audio stops, but it carries on after a few seconds back to normal and nothing crashes.
Abuhmeid Bacha the installation is exactly the same as all of the other eonon units. You can find some on RU-vid already. It's actually very easy to install :)
Hello, Thanks for your video ;-) Small questions that I can not find at Eonon, In SD card playback, there is the info + album artwork? And the same for Blutooth playback of audio files ? The equalizer is EQ with several graphic bands, or several parametric bands or is it just a bass / mid / treble setting ? There is subwoofer management with volume control + cutoff frequency ? OK I bought one of these, paid to get it installed and from day one PROBLEMS !USB doesn't work so the wife can't play her music, :( Yes only using an 8gb card .It's sad as in theory it's a nice unit, only to be let down by poor quality.Eonon has replied with suggestions but I'm fast getting sick of it.
Do the controls on the steering wheel work with the head unit? Like do the volume buttons work? Do the up and down arrows change the radio station or switch your songs on Spotify?
They have a GA8151 now and I am strongly considering buying it, but just a question before I go.. Is there an installation instruction for the reversing camera?

Thanks! It sounds like you have a 2007 Mazda 3. Is that with the Bose Audio by any chance? Just wondering how the sound quality is. I have an older GM5151 and am disappointed in the sound quality, especially when compared with the stock Bose HU. What's your experience with the audio quality on this unit?
kli77 my one isn't Bose and honestly the sound quality isn't the best with the stock radio or the eonon unit. The speakers just aren't great. The eonon unit does give out some weird static noises that the stock radio doesn't. It doesn't appear to have the appropriate shielding.
this might me a dumb question but is it possible to use waze or google maps with the gps connection from the car unit or does it need be tethered to smart phone for data ?
With Google Maps you can save navigation routes offline, but you do need internet connectivity first to save it. Waze requires a network connection as well.

How did you manage to keep original display ie fan speed temp ect? Does it depend on year model of car. I have a 2005 Mazda 3 and it doesn't work on mine !!!
I'm going to sound ignorant but how does it use data? Does it connect to your phone and use it? For example, does it use my phone's data to use Google maps? Same goes for streaming music from Google play music?
Denton Yoder it uses data how ever you choose to give it data. You can see in my video I use a 4g dongle with a SIM card in it. But if you don't want to do that you can simply share your data from your phone.

Hi, I am trying to install the unit but where did you put the little white OEM cable in from the OEM head display? And another question, how did you manage the panel light stays on while the headlight is turned off? Darn! I see that this model is not compatible with the factory LCD screen... Is there ANY way to make it compatible?
Bas M I think it's not compatible with the older Mazda 3 original LCD. It is compatible with my 2007 Mazda 3 original LCD as you can see here. Which car do you have?
Yes I noticed that. I have got a 05 Mazda 3. It fits and works but not the LCD and I only need the acc info. that would be great. did you got the externsl microphone to work? mine is not working either.
Kris Crichton I have got the solution. You just need a LCD display of a 06-09 modal and connect some wires. I am just waiting on parts then I will upload a howto video.
Kornizz I got this unit directly from Eonon. I got my last 2 from Amazon though. I wouldn't say it has a hissing noise, but it does have an electrical interference type noise, like there's not enough shielding. It's not really an issue for me as it cannot be heard when playing music, it's only faintly audible when there's no sound playing.
Hello Mupet, For 3g dongle i must root the unit? I introduced the 3g stick but did not recognize it. When I connect it to my laptop it connects instantly to the internet
I believe that works through the phone. He shows the phone connection, and that Virgin Plan is, I believe his data plan. He said it was BP4/month, probably with some data limit.
A Villareal no I can't physically connect it no matter how hard I try. Also having an issue with the reverse camera not always functioning. Other than those things it's been working very well. I am in contact with eonon trying to resolve these issues.
You don't need to connect it to the rear light. The wire splits into two, one goes into the back of the head unit and the other needs power which I used from behind the cig lighter.
Actually this is not very handy. The camera is permanently on when the key is turned but only shows you it on the screen when you turn the car into reverse. Better way in my opinion is to connect it to the rear light. I will probably do that because I can connect the parking sensors to it also.
I just bought this and it works great except when I’m playing music and go back home or go to the nav screen the music stops playing. Whether it’s the radio or playing through Bluetooth, as soon as I switch the screen it spots playing. Anyone know how to stop this from happening
No, the issues I had where music would stop playing got fixed. Technical support helped me re-download new software and everything works perfect now. You can play music from the radio, bluetooth, or Spotify while having google maps open.
alex jacobsen I'm still trying to figure it out myself, it says you have to splice the red wire label cam in off the back of the unit to the reverse trigger wire which I can't find
The reverse cam was easy to install in my mazda 3 2005. If you are using CANBUS, you don't have to use the reverse trigger wire as the canbus will handle this for you. Just install your camera, link the power cable, the video signal to the cam and the HU and it all done. When you put your car in reverse mode, your HU automaticaly shows the cam view
Hi, I just purchased the 8151 for my Mazda 3 2008. So you are saying any power source (example: cigarette lighter socket or spare battery) is ok as long as you hook the camera via HEAD UNIT CANBUS? Thanks.
Larry Precoma I mean you'd just have to download the app from the play store and then download your maps from the app onto your sd card, i don't think it requires a tutorial. Unless you mean downloading the maps and software for free without paying, that's another matter that I can't help you with I'm afraid.
