We met Sam a few years ago at his home in Mississippi. Very gracious and took time to show us his work station at his home. Gave good advice to the questions we had and was just a great guy. Heading to Lake hill motors in a few weeks to check out the museum! Thanks for sharing this and for the video with Sam.

This was a great video. You-ray (Ouray) is along the Million Dollar Highway. For some reason, that road freaks people out (no guardrails in some spots).

I just finished a 5300-mile ride on and off road. There is a fine line between chillin and being bored for me. Still trying to figure it out myself.

Looks like you went through my home area of Alabama . Stopped by lake hill in Corinth last august on my trip out west to Colorado . Trailered my Himalayan , then rode up Pikes Peak , cripple creek , St. Elmo , Tin Cup , etc.. On to Utah , Wyoming , Jackson Hole , Idaho , Montana , Yellowstone , Custers last stand , South Dakota , Crazy Horse , Mt. Rushmore . Stopped by Baxter cycles in Marne , Iowa . Met Fuzzy Biker utube there . Headed back to Alabama from there . Had a good time 2023 .

Good video on the realities of traveling loooong days! Forgot to add a story on your last video where you mentioned Mac Davis. Friend of mine took me with his family in the last 70’s to Vegas and we went to a Mac Davis show. My friend and I (16 years old) sat right in front and during the show put in a dip of Copenhagen. Mac Davis saw us and not only called us out, but literally made up a song about it on the fly. It was hilarious and he was awesome!

Great video as always. Kind of funny at the end, when talking about the hotel. You say “total murders have happened in here” and your shadow on the wall behind you looks like an axe murderer. 😂

It's pretty much pay what you think it's worth. But you could totally ask Homer what a reasonable fee is. There's contact for him in the description - he's super nice and will be happy to help...

My DR650 broke down right outside of Corinth, Mississippi. It is always a bummer when your bike stops working, but little did I know how lucky I was that it did break down and there. I knew nothing about who had created the TransAmerica Trail. Someone who stopped to help me along the road recommended I call the Lake Hills Dealership to fix the bike. Homer answered the phone. One of his first questions was "whose tracks are you using". I replied GPS Kevin as it was the truth and I knew nothing about it. There was silence on the line, then "I'll be out to pick you up". On the ride to the shop I learned I'd purchased the tracks for the TAT from a guy who had ridden it, recorded the GPX track and then passed it off as his own. Set my tent up in Homer's yard that night and spent the next day at the shop wandering around the museum having never seen so many historic motorcycles in my life. Homer is the paragon of hospitality and then put me up in a building in town when a big storm hit the area. At the time he hadn't yet built the bunkhouse. The entire experience on the TAT changed my views on what I thought was the best form of travel and the way to see the world. I continued on the TAT to Oklahoma, then, as it was October, headed south down through Mexico to the Mexico-Guatemala border where I had been living for over a decade at that point. On the way down I kept thinking how incredible it would be if Mexico had a trans-Mexico trail. That was back in 2019. Last year, 2023, we started working on the creation of the trans-Mexico trail which we call ridemex (ride Mexico). It's a privilege to take the idea of Sam Correro, the creator of the TAT, and expand that creative work to another country.

Homer's the best! Yeah, Kevin is a bit of a wanker, but until you know - there's no way to know! Where can i get info on ridemex?

HHH here. Fired up for you to get started. Very cool. Lot of things hit my brain while watching. So moto tote is the brand of bike carrier or a general name. I need one for my Jeep. Other videos show the harbor freight ones breaking. Anyway. When you said vegan at home. New rule. Just funny for me I think but don’t get the meat sweats? I think that was in a movie idk. Another observation. Them glasses are industrial grade frames haha. I dig it. The rest of the video I have prob the same thoughts as many. Great job bud. You really put it out there and make it interesting and funny. I’m from Missouri and at my age now that is a hell of a drive across not much to see till you hit Colorado. Hey if you see a sign ice cave in New Mexico it’s worth a look. Big hole in the ground with ice year around. Lots of artifacts to see that dates back I think pre christ. The lava flowed messed me up. I thought someone was digging up the earth with a dozer or something. I was tired and had been on my bike for hours. Delusional. Prob dehydrated. I have the same prob when I want to get somewhere. Just knock the miles out till I drop. Now days at an older age I have done better and slowed down. Way more enjoyable. IE the ice cave deal. Stopped at a gas station and the gal behind the counter mentioned it. It’s the little side bars like that will stick with ya. Can’t wait for the next video. I looked at an Africa twin yesterday and was in my himi. They wanted to give me 2000 bucks for trade in. I can’t hardly get rid of it. Such a cool bike with the old school look and now running great after a couple fuel pumps. Very long post here. I hope it helps the channel. If not at least I got to dump my brain this morning haha. Good luck and much appreciate your video skills. Between you and itchy boots you guys could put discovery channel out of business haha.

Thanks for this! Yup mototote is the brand and it’s a bit pricey but I think really worth it. Comes with this anti wobble thing that really does work.
