I think the 6 ARC is superior to the 6.5 grendel in almost every way, and I thought the 6.5 grendel was lacking in bullet weight and velocity, which is why I didn't jump on it and waited for something to come out (thank you for the 6 ARC) that did the same thing with better velocities and better BCs. I honestly think this 6.5mm VT could bring a new life to the 6.5 grendel
@chadillac95 I don't disagree I just never see any 6 ARC ammo on shelves where my local gun shop advertises when it gets 6.5 grendel when it comes in.
@lucasvaughn629 I'd say I see about the same amount of ammo on the shelves for both of them. The timing of the release of the 6 ARC with covid, and all the hype over everything 6.5mm hurt how popular the 6 ARC is. It got swept under the rug during covid
I've had a gas gun 6.5 Grendel for a few years and like it a lot for coyotes. I put together a bolt gun in 6mm ARC this summer and it's been fun also. Really looking forward to trying these new bullets, especially in the Grendel. Now you guys have me thinking about the 22ARC. So many guns, so little money!
I have a 22ARC AR-15 WITH 53 GR. HPBT AND 25 GR. LT-32 I put 4 bullets in .267 " in 100 yards. Very good load. I can't get any load data for this rifle😢😢😢😢😢. I didn't see any sign of pressure The velocity 3099 fps!
It would be great, and it's about time they finally got a new and modern bonded bullet from Hornady, a team like this could certainly do it perfectly !
They have talked about bonded bullets in other podcasts, bonded just simply doesn’t get the accuracy standards they want to have. Would be cool if they went after it and figured it out, would make a fantastic hunting bullet.
@@jaydunbar7538I heard that and still don’t believe it. Plenty of bonded bullets giving me great accuracy out of my rifles. Several of my rifles prefer others bonded over eldx bullets.
I am shooting a AR in 6,5 Grendel since two years. In Germany we have a minimum 6,5 caliber and 2000 joules/100 Meter for large game like red stag fallow deer and boar. When I need more I shoot a 6,5 PRC. Would you recomend a 100Grain VT for the PRC or would they desintegrate upon muzzle exit ?
Can’t wait to try some 100s in my 6.5prc. Loadin 95s as I type on beams hand trickling h4350 in hornady cases..rem mag primers…easily gettin 3550 and maxed out 3666ish…incredible insane energy on jugs so far to 250yrds…does things to em I’ve never seen
I was loading the 95s in my 6.5 creed and was around 3200fps if i remember correctly. Damn were they screaming! Stoked to try these! Only 5gr difference but longer better bc bullets. It’s gonna be rad!
Hoping the 80gr 6 creed loading won't go pooof in the air with my 7 twist, lol! Would be nice to get a 6mm VT that is closer to the bc of the 6mm heavies. In other words, bullet optimized for the 6 Creed instead of the ARC. Thank you for your continuing innovation!
Any recommendations for a .308 round I can use for ethically harvesting Whitetail, up to around 300-350yards (if needed) and can shoot suppressed quieter/quietest? than most (obviously not subsonic)? Barrel is 20" 1/10 twist if that helps
They seem to be reluctant to say the numbers. I expect it's farther from the comparable shapes than we might expect. However if you gain 200+ fps that will help you catch up but you can't cheat physics and mass is part of the bc numbers. Also the terminal performance improvement for small game doesn't get a number. I don't shoot hornady products except for the 53 vmax. I've tried the 208/225 30 cal eld-m but pushing them hard out to 1746 yards I get 2 or 3 shots out of 20 that come up 8 or 9 moa short of target that I can only explain by the new tip either melting or breaking. So I've been skeptical of new products. But as a coyote hunter they have my attention for the terminal performance.
@rex8958 they give enough info in the 22-250 video that you can work out a rough idea of the 62 vt. It's better than I expected given they haven't shared it. The part that's hard to convey is the velocity bc combo. There's not a great reference for what it's like to shoot this bc at the higher speeds.
@@codyboland8109 thank you! I’ve found some bcs as well. 80gr .243 has a BC of .410 at 3020 in the arc. Don’t know what it isn’t fully published yet but the bc’s are way better then I expected
Any way to do 50-55gr 223 vt with a profile to match a 75-77gr traditional bullet? I feel like that would be lights out in all those SPR style ARs out there.

I love the idea of reaching 22-250 ballistics in an AR-15 platform with the 22 ARC. This cartridge may make me retire my 5.56 collection. I'm getting crazy performance out of my 12.5 6mm ARC, so I'm thinking the 22 ARC should blow away the 5.56 in a 12.5 SBR configuration.
My biggest issue with the ARC series is the lack of bolt action offerings from manufacturers. I'd love a bolt 6 ARC, but the only one I can find is a savage 110 that I have no confidence in. It's great that it fits the AR platform. But I'm tired od the maintenance requirements of my AR's and would love to learn the bolt guns more.

I have the 110 switchback 6mm ARC. Put it in a MDT LSS-XL and use the MDT 6mm ARC mags. I load berger 105gr VLD with StaBALL Match and lapua 6.5 grendel brass. I am clocking 2790fps average and .4moa groups. You may want to revisit the 110
No issues. I live in the Midwest. It gets very humid in the summer, though. May not hold up if you are in a coastal area, but you can get the barrel cerakoted for better protection
I feel like there is some misleading info. To say you can't use the 62 VT in a 22-250 becuase it won't stabilize, should explain why. Cause the 22-250 is available in 14 to 7 twist barrels. I've been shooting 80gr bergers in 22-250 for 15 years in a 9 twist.
Will the 100gr 6.5mm VT projectile work in the 6.5prc? I assume the 95gr vmax is a no go due to too much freebore (and probably other technical reasons) and imagine the new 100gr is a physically larger/longer projectile.
Loadin the 95 now with 57.5gr h4350 for 3550ish and 58 get you 3660ish 24” carbon waypoint.5” groups absolutely most violent round ever fired…can’t wait to try the new hundis…135a tip with n560 shot my best group ever and finally got 153s under 3/4” with retumbo
75 gr eld match out of a 22 250 totally smokes the 6 arc at every range. Since you hype the 6 arc with a 62, a good counter hype is an optimized 22 250.
I can see myself building a 13.7 or 14.5 ar15! I wonder what kind of performance you can expect out of that short of a barrel!? A little 13.7 shooting 3k fps would be pretty cool 😎
@theHSPCproject what I should have said is I highly doubt he will achieve 3k fps out of a 13.7" barrel with VT bullets. The shorter legacy bullets should leave enough case capacity with handloading to add enough powder to achieve 3k fps in a 13.7" barrel.
We empathize, unless one wants 30 Super Carry, finding Hornady ammo is like looking for hen's teeth. I built two rifles in 6mm ARC with the foolish idea there might be ammo available as it was released and promoted by a purported ammo company. Imagine my embarrassment when I discovered there is no ammo. I can't currently setup my reloading equipment, so I am just screwed for now. I'd encourage you to immigrate to Texas -- we welcome good, legal immigrants -- but I can't promise you more ammo.
Anyone else feel like Hornady has moved into the innovation market and left the production on the back burner? Don't get me wrong I like the newer and improved but most of us are still using these "legacy" cartridges. They just now can keep 6.5 Creedmore on the shelf and it's beginning to become obsolete.
I live in Nebraska near Fremont. And hardly see and hardly see Hornady ammunition on the shelf. And the price is retarded. At least Federal can put can put food on the table for my firearms and they are not even based in Nebraska. What does that tell you Hornady.
I’m excited about the 88gr as just started load development using it in my 22-284 in front of 54g N570 3281 MV compared to 3276 with the 95Sierra but surprisingly the 80 AMax is still holding the best accuracy at 3327mv with US827 63.7 Grs. hence I’m thinking of trying a little bit more velocity with the 88grs and also 8133 as here in NE Scotland it’s all mostly bean field type shooting as no way to get close as upnhere foxes seem much more cautious than down south. Unfortunately we don’t have Mr Wiley Coyote to contend with.
Have you considered -- now just hear me out -- actually producing ammo for the loads in your existing catalog? I know it's a radical idea, but some of us were stupid enough to fall for the 6mm ARC cartridge, with the heavily implied limited adoption by certain military elements, believing Hornady would actually produce loaded ammo. Fair enough, 6mm ARC was launched just the pandemic hit, not your fault, but now it's 2023 and availability is very low with outrageous prices. The same is true for 6.5 Grendel. Yet, here you are, offering another new caliber, and new loads, but half your catalog is long out of production. Today, there are several million guns chambered in 44-40, but has Hornady produced even a single round in over 3 years? Don't tell me it's not profitable, partial boxes are being sold as loosies for $4/round on auction sites. There are easily hundreds of thousands of guns chambered for 327 Fed Mag and 32 H&R Mag, but has Hornady made any in 3 years? 348 Winchester? ...and yet, there's plenty of 30 Super Carry gathering dust on shelves across America - a lifetime supply for the handful of guns chambered for it. Why should anybody buy into a new cartridge when Hornady hasn't provided support for the last cartridge you introduced?
I only got on the 6mm ARC band wagon because I had a bunch of 6.5 grendel brass. I just got my first 6mm ARC factory ammo 3 months ago. It was the first time I saw it on a shelf locally
