Compliments for a great layout. I find yours trestle bridges especially impressive. Some one has spent many hours at the table saw. The idea of dropping the plastic ties between your own cross timbers had never occurred to me. A convincing solution. Excellent video presentation.

A great layout, class locomotives and trains. It astonishes me that the K37 of AccuCraft drives through these radii. I always have trouble with my locomotive that lifts them off the track. Impressive video. Greetings from Germany

The wonderful 'sedate' scale speeds really enhance your operation-- and the weathering is very impressive, too-- I wish I had the space for an Fn3 Layout similar to yours, but since I am a dedicated LIve-Steamer, mine would of course be 'Live-Steam' Ops which may or may not be practicable.....

If all your videos are going to be like this I hope you do more than one a month. If you intend to be viable on RU-vid you need to do a bunch of them not just one a month LOL this was great stuff. Thank you so much

Thanks! And, you're right... a good RU-vid channel should post a lot more content. Unfortunately even one a month has proven too much. But a second video will be posted later today or tomorrow, and a third (hopefully!) within another month or so.

Really enjoyed the video. I am in the process of constructing a garden railroad in Glendale, Arizona. Wish that Ed would provide some details on how he lays the track bed work in concrete (since he says he is redoing portions, would be a great video). Also like to know where he gets the ballast and small stone work for around buildings. Last, because he gets more rain and cloudy days in his area, are the buildings moved at various times of the year and stored?
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway 4 года назад
E Larsen Thanks! I’ll check with Ed about these questions. And thanks for your suggestion for a future episode! I don’t know anything about Ed’s technique, but I also built my railroad with concrete roadbed, mostly using dry mix. I wrote about it on MLS a few years ago: forums.mylargescale.com/16-track-trestles-bridges-roadbed/37954-building-pacific-inland-express.html#/topics/37954?page=3 (eventually we’ll do an episode on my railroad, but want to cover “finished” railroads first, and mine is still as under construction as ever) -Ben

@elarsen4392 4 года назад
@@sacramentovalleygardenrailway Thanks Ben, I am using a similar method of "mountain building", but have stalled on some of the concrete roadway work. Mainly because my wife wants the Master bedroom bath remodeled, so train work has taken a back seat. I haven't posted a lot of pictures to MLS, since I find their picture handling and uploading instructions and methods are very cumbersome. Much easier on Facebook/AOL or any of the email sites. When I have some patience, I may try to muscle through it.
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway

E Larsen cool, sounds good. My railroad goes on the backburner for years at a time too. And I don’t post on MLS these days either. Mostly I use Facebook and RU-vid. -Ben

Great great job with your railroad my only question what is f scale
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway 2 года назад
“F” scale is 3 ft narrow gauge trains running on 45mm (G-gauge) track. The scale ratio is 1 : 20.3
@furlosifurfox5794
@furlosifurfox5794 4 месяца назад
never heard of F Scale before is it using G scale track for narrow gauge prototypes?

Fantastic railroad, but what I wanna know is, WHERE can I buy that t shirt from the beginning? "G - Garden Railroading. Appropriate for all ages and skill levels. Strong outdoor themes. Realistic action sequences. Periods of intense enjoyment" that cracked me up and I want one

How did you get the battery put into your trains and those are someone that helps do that or teach that?
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway 2 года назад
These are big locomotives with plenty of room for batteries. There are experts that help with installs like this, but also many resources to learn to do it yourself. The simplest installs are just a battery connected to an Airwire board connected to the motors. Where it can get complex is lighting, smoke, animation.

My MTH GS-4 Daylight is on a short bookcase next to me in the introduction, and that's a USA Trains Big Boy on the trestle behind me. Eventually we'll do a narrated episode of my garden railway, but in the meantime you can see this locomotive running here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aDzZDzDYv18.html -Ben

@sacramentovalleygardenrailway
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway 2 года назад
I would recommend connecting with others in the hobby; join a local club if possible, but if not then attend a national show or garden railroad tour and ask a lot of questions. You can also get plugged to some great hobby groups on Facebook.

Is F scale bigger than G scale?
@dax2321
@dax2321 7 месяцев назад
What’s the difference between F scale and G scale ?
@DRUmBEaTTS
@DRUmBEaTTS 5 месяцев назад
F scale uses the same track as G scale but the track represents 3’ foot narrow gauge trackage as opposed to representing 4’ 8.5” track. So the locomotives and rolling stock have to be bigger than G scale in order for it to be prototypically correct. Both G & F scale run on the same track but F scale is much larger! 😍
@tobinrowe9558
@tobinrowe9558 4 года назад
I'm not familiar with F-scale. What is it supposed to be? A sort of Narrow Gauge G-scale?
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway
@sacramentovalleygardenrailway 2 года назад
Yes; 3 ft narrow gauge scaled to fit 45mm (G-gauge) train is considered “F” scale, or 1 : 20.3

I would have loved to have my track on road bed like yours but with 2000 feet of track had it up one post. Have rock but not enough to do what i want and a back that is not the best condition.
