Thanks for making this! I've been playing this game for a decade now, and I always want to learn new ways to play the game, and officer hunting is one of those things that's so shrouded with enigma and determined by random chance, that even those who have some inkling of an idea of what must be done to spawn an officer hold their secrets close to their chests. Appreciate you helping us all by removing some of that mystery and giving us some real, good, solid information.
Its warp to belt % chance to spawn officer, that's it no more no less. lmfao Only thing Mrmom is doing is making the spawns happen at a faster rate. You think CCP has some other system in place for spawning an officer??? haha
Just watched your series, filamented my black ops and a covert cyno legion into null, and within two hours got a Tuvans spawn in fountain. 3.6B profit. I think I used all of my luck for the year
It's surprising this guy finds so many officer spawns when he spends all his time rambling instead of getting to the point. One of those mysteries of life, I guess.
Pirate NPC space, like venal or stain. I've never seen one pop up in sov null, maybe they can, but they spawn in pirate null. there was a system in stain 9RQ, has like 40 belts in there, its pretty much guaranteed to get an officer if you bounce belts all day in there. or at least it used to be, I haven't been there for nearly a decade. I know that system is a relatively well known system for spawning officers.
These videos are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing what you know. I do have a question on when you say NPC null if you mean areas like syndicate, venal, curse, ECT or any sov null? I have been doing a lot of digging and it does seem that in places like venal or curse almost all of the officers spawn there. But I never see any officer kills in syndicate and mostly in fountain... Thoughts?
On average, how much DPS and tank do u need to kill most officer spawns? 1 rattlesnake minimum? 2 rattlesnakes? 2 carriers? (I know some can be killed with a VNI but those are edge cases)
Just came seeing the title of this post. Used to be, back in my day, officers were most often found in -1.0 true sec. space. Like the one at the south end of Fountain, north end of Delve. AND you had to rat it and surrounding systems properly. There is also one up in the north, in Gurista NPC space. There is no ship better at ratting Gurista space than a Deimos. Real quick at killing rats and very quick getting around, belt to belt, system to system. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go after the officer first if you get a spawn or it will warp out before you can tackle him. 😉 Iirc i found all mine in plain old asteroid belts, belt ratting. Lots of people used the Raven to rat with and many of them were impressed with how much better the Deimos was, when I'd be zipping around killing everything in the region 😂 Katarrin (my toon) HATED Angel space the most. TONs of explosive dmg. And HATED Blood Raider and Sansha space because of the cap warfare. Us Gallente NEED our cap, speed and there needs to be no explosive dmg, in order to rat with a PvP fit! Serpentise space has too many webs 🤨. I ALWAYS did my ratting in a PvP fit just incase the intel channel started squaking about PvP opportunities. Incoming roaming gangs and whatnot 😊. Back when the Myrmidon first came out, I'd use it most of the time, when in Fountain, especially, webs don't hurt droneboats as much as a blaster boat. And especially if there was a recon gang hunting in my area. It was a GREAT ship vs gangs of 5 or 6 v us (me and my 5 heavy drones)😁 Katarrin had a great killboard, mostly in doneboats. Myrmidon vs recon gangs, bs fights, 3 v 1, Ishtar vs speed tankers (killing vagabonds 3 v 1 many times). Properly used sentry drones were great vs speed tankers...ahhh the good ole days 😀...back before 2010 or so was my heyday. I had a couple great teachers in the begging too. Even a few from enemy war targets taught me some really nice tricks 👌 😀. Twas a fun game for a time...6 or so years.
After a week, and over 5k dead rats, no officers but lots of steady isk, a handful of dread spawns and multiple haulers worth almost a bill in mins. I'll give it another week before trying a different system. I did get a very weird spawn tonight, it was a double, but one of the bs TOOK OFF, easily going 1200 m/s, twice my speed. I had to play the warp out/in hand just to catch it. Didn't drop anything good, just weird.
Rattlesnake - I do actively belt rat but I push more for the dread spawns and when I do get those faction dread spawns I pray I get those BPC cap boosters but only once I ever got a officer spawn it was a Brokara and didn't drop any purple loot but made still like 400M from the faction modules, I don't rat in NPC space but more null sec systems that is -0.9 so I frequently get those dread spawns and the occasional titan spawns but I will apply these habits and will keep at it, I do run 2 chars going up and down the list so maybe im just over doing it and need to calm down but yea that's just my experience belt ratting... Oh and those mineral droppers are fantastic as well but a pain to haul. but one day maybe I will go to NPC space and start setting up there.
Rattlesnake - Definitely less than 30 min for so much info on a very obscure topic is not too much! Thanks a lot for sharing! How much ISK/hour can one expect from officer hunting? or maybe ISK/week or ISK/month if easier to calculate.
@sebl637 that's if you get the officer mod but the chance of that happening and getting that module is extremely low also you can go weeks without seeing officer
rattlesnake. keep your videos around 20-30min. i hate those 5-10min eve videos, they barely scratch the surface of any topic edit: liked and subscribed too. good content man!
Ive been looking at this.... but i was looking for a ship with similar punch but more escapability than a *rattlesnake* (hehe).... some people tell me to use a polarized tengu lol. onto to video 2.
Rattlesnake. Loved the info, actual good and concentrated advice and information on the topic and looking forward to more videos :P Would appreciate some idea of the fit you're running and if it can kill officers by itself.
hey :) my experience is only with Gurista officers. ratting a few hours a day every day will get me an officer around once a month, sometimes 2 in a week and sometimes 1 in 2 months. I will try this small arkonor and see it it changes anything :) btw, I do that in a -1.7 security level and I do get officers so I'm not sure about a relationship between security level and officers spawns.the only correlation I saw so far is the more npc's you kill on the belts, the more officers spawn. oh, and I don't use a rattlesnake to hunt officers :P
I have seen officers Spawn within 9 days but yes you can do it here and there and get one when ever it shows up, you cop told the spawn rates with your active ratting
Builds won’t be shown persay… I will show how much officers hit for and how different officers act differently. Or at least how to protect against each officer.. the ship doesn’t matter and at the same time it can
