SoundFlow is life changing. I control it with an old iPad mini, and I even have my KHE amp switcher hooked up to it so we can very quickly audition amps to find the right vibe for a part without having to get up and walk to the side of the room and out of the sweet spot of the monitors. Killer video, Chris, definitely looking forward to more!

Hey Chris, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and experience! It's great that you started doing this. I don't know what your plan is regarding livestreams and video's, but it would be amazing if you could go in depth about producing and arranging (and of course mixing.) I'd like to hear more about the pre-production process (if you do that, I guess you do) and the production workflow. Could you speak about the importance of getting the song right before recording, and which steps you take before you are ready to actually record it? RU-vid is flooded by mixing tutorials, but there are far fewer videos about the songwriting > pre-production > recording process and the choices that are made, like sound selection and arrangement. Would be great if you could implement those steps (and your vision) in your videos... if you weren't already planning to do that. Thanks again, I'm looking forward to the next video!

Great content. Top tip from film post: date things year, month, day. Thatway when you click sort by name, you have alll the year, month and day in order. So we date 231025 (2023 october 25th)

@@chrisbaseford in film post we deal with hundreds of tracks coming from multiple teams, so the standardisation of naming norms and file systems is very refined. We also have a project folder, in which 1. a Materials folder contains dated folders in which delivered original files are stored (rough mixes, recordings, unconverted video files etc). 2. A project folder has the sessions, dated as above, and 3. An export folder containing dated files containing the bounces.

Hello: Thank-you for sharing. It would be fantastic to see a screenshot of the "Folder convention."

@@GingerDrums this is great info. The post world definitely has better organization and systems than the music world ;). I also have a system for file management that I will show at some point as well. Regardless of how one does it, the important thing is that they have a system and stay organized. Thank you for sharing!!

@@chrisbaseford I agree in principle. Backup norms is another thing that really drives me crazy in music production. People are really gambling with their data on the daily, and it's just never talked about. I really think the music world should look to the film post world for some pointers in best practise and what it means to be a professional audio engineer. You are an obvious exception.
