Thanks Bill, yes candy paints are more difficult. After 2-3 coats of base coat color then you have to spray 2 more coats of the candy color then spray the clear coat next. The extra step takes time and you need a good clean spray booth.

That is good advice, I was concerned about clearance so I was careful with my patterns before welding. The doors are back on and they fit great.

Believe me I was tempted to buy new doors. Used ones are hard to find and buying new shells are expensive. Cheapest ones I could find were around $800 with shipping cost included. Also I purchased new door shells for a different restoration project and body lines did not line up very good. It was a lot of work to get them to fit plus transfer over all the hardware/window. So decided to rust repair.
