I HAVE seen an outboard motor bracket break. A total of seven times! The first time was when I watched this video. Then, I backed it up and rewatched it six more times! Seems almost like a common occurrence now.😉

I have never seen a small outboard snap off due to bad metal ! That was weird - and a flat tire too ! Yet you guys keep plowing through the messes and getting things done. My hat's off to you and Robbo !

These guys are amazing. They lose a tire and they keep going. They lose an entire outboard and they grab a second. Keep on, keepin' on. And it's nice to see the jet wash cut through that crud!

on my American mni-van the spare tyre ( lol) was underneath up front by the seats. it actually had a little winch to lower the tire down -but it rusted so bad I had to have a man lift the whole van, cut the cable to release the tire. now carry spare inside the van. flats happen !

I have seen outboards fall off before normally not tight. But snapping that was odd. Also getting a flat. When you get a day like that it is a beer or three time. Relax or bash on and end up banging your head against the wall. I ken if 2 things go wrong short it tomorrow. That is unless the boat is sinking.

Hi Guys, This week has been so entertaining with all the ship happening. The look on Simon's face when the engine took a trip in the tide. That was a crack up as I thought I was the only one to have that ship happen too. Saw that happen to 2 Girls on youtube going flat out and the engine fell off. They had the same look as Simon after that happened. Stunned mullets. What a bugger of a time you had this week. Fortunately it all happens at once and misfortunes not spread out over time. You Guys just rock in so many ways and I love, love watching your weekly vids.

Couple of suggestions: Shop vac, 1 brush and clean the drum filter. 2. Double up a pair of tights and stretch over the filter, tie or cut off the excess length. 3 use a light brush from time to time to sweep the filter assembly clean, most dust etc will anyway fall into the container. Gluing wood. In the aircraft world we are very interested in good glue joints, the adhesive of choice is ' Aerolite or Aerodux' , look them up, cheap and very easy to use. Robin

I’ve had days like this. When the engine fell off I just couldn’t stop laughing. It’s like it was destined to happen. If you didn’t laugh your would cry, even though it wasn’t funny because it’s knacked the engine. It was one problem after another. But you conquered and came good. Well done guys. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I keep a torque wrench/socket with a 18inch handle so as to never deal with this kind of tire removal. It’s way easier than dealing with this kind of tire removal. It’s the hard times that certainly bring out your grit!!!! Courage on word peeps!

Yep, you had one of those days. I very much know the feeling. It kinda went all the way to 11 when the outboard left the chat. Thanks for a very good laugh there. Usually I need the full power of my old Citroën´s, 70´s bus, old house and my work in IT to have a day like that. You did it with just some tools, a van and an outboard. Quite an achievement.

I was just thinking how much the two of you deserve a break when the van has a flat. A big Thank You for showing the scissor jack brace for the socket extension. I have had that happen before. Most wheel lugs are around 100 F-P but the boys in the tire store will sometimes forget to adjust their pneumatic tools and you end up with lug nuts almost welded to the studs. That trick is a real help. We have all made it through another winter. Hope you have a good season ahead and keep well.

Well, as an elderly racing tactician once replied when I asked how the crew broke so many things while I wasn't on board, "we found entirely new ways to screw up." He admitted to being 68 years old so "entirely new" had a lot of meaning. I've ruined two outboards myself but never managed to break that bracket that holds them on, it's really strong. Did you hit something underwater? That was what caused one of my outboard adventures. But it didn't seem like the boat was even moving! Loved the search for the magnetic mike.

Another interesting video that shows everything that can happen. Sad it all happens at the least desirable times though. Looks like you are either going to buy a new mounting bracket for that OB motor OR have that one welded up. It looks like a long shaft version and maybe it hit the bottom in the shallow water, and broke off. IDK Might want to see about a short shaft version...

What’s going to make it hard to find the mic is that they might have ALC automatic level control which effectively keeps the level constant for a range of signal levels. Ideally you might have needed to somehow listen to the mic and apply a directional sound … speak through a cardboard tube whilst pointing towards and pointing away and then doing the same at different locations and it is more likely you will be able to centre the the location of the mic.
