Jct 4 M25 World of Sewing at Pratts Bottom - definitely worth a visit - a lot of quilting fabrics and sewing machine shop. Lovely staff. Plus World of Sewing also in Tunbridge Wells for bigger selection of fabrics x
Yes, it is a lovely little shop and the staff are great. If you are environmental, you can go there by bus and there is sevenoaks train station. Many of us don't want a car. There is a lot of noisy traffic so not a quiet place.
Thank you. Sadly train travel for me is not an option to get to my mum in the hospital which is part of the reason I'm doing this tour. For people who want to catch the train Kent is well served with trains and buses. Thank you for your comment x
Sam, I'm really enjoying your series on Kent. I'm in the U. S. but we're planning to make a trip to England in the next 2-3 years and I'm starting to look at the different areas that I might like to visit. I found the tidbit about hops very interesting as I grew up on a farm so the agriculture in other places is very interring to me. BTW, we do have states but our states are divided into counties, so an extra layer of government to navigate.🙄
Sam, really interesting and one of my friends parents used to go hop picking every August - it was the annual “holiday” out of London. If you fancy Surrey on your way round the M25 I’d also suggest Shere as a lovely village to stop with a little fabric shop called Mad Jak and then onto the charity shops of Dorking.
Really enjoyed going along with you to Sevenoaks. What a lovely town and what a fantastic haberdashery. Could not believe the button selection 😮. Thank you for another great video ❤
Wow, amazing. I live near Sevenoaks and visit frequently but have never seen the haberdashery shop. I must find it and check it out. Yes, definitely loads of charity shops. Nice little town to visit.
Thank you for taking us along on these trips with you Sam! I haven't been to Kent as an adult (when I was a child we would visit the pick your own farms and visit the green spaces for picnics). I've learnt so much from your vlogs on Kent and am so pleased you have more planned. Thank you! ♥️
What a gem of a find! Stores like that just don't exist where I live in the northwestern part of New York State. I loved the additional info about Kent and where it is on the map! Thanks.
@@sequingirlie I know! We have several JoAnns but I'm not too impressed with the haberdashery choices and I'm very picky about my fabric these days. So most of my stuff comes from small shops in England, NZ and France. The shipping prices to the US from the EU are outrageous, except for France. Anyway! Enjoy all your beautiful selections. And yes, I love seeing what you have. I'm finally getting back to England in the spring and I'm making a list of shops I want to visit. Thanks for your vlogs Sam!
plzzzz can you go to Gillingham or as near as poss 🙏 hun cause my son lives there & it would be great to go fabric shopping 🛍️ there when I visit him 😁👍🏻 xx
Oh my goodness what a lovely shop, another one I didn’t know existed which I will check out the next time I’m visiting. What I especially liked was the choice of yarn, if you think fabric shops are rare, decent yarn shops are rarer. Another fabric shop to check out is World of Sewing, they have a small shop in Pratts Bottom near Bromley which is mainly quilting and a larger store in Tunbridge Wells which has a mixture of quilting, dress making fabric and furnishing fabric. Thanks again for sharing Sam, I have now subscribed and look forward to further wanderings. 🧶🌈🍓💙
This is so fun and interesting! I was just watching an episode of Escape to the Country, and they were in Kent! Anywhere you want to explore and share would be fine. I've always said that when I get the chance to return to the , want to explore non touristy areas.
I live in Tunbridge Wells. It has one fabric shop, World of Sewing, down Camden Road in the town centre, and Hobbycraft on the North Farm trading estate out of town off the A21. World of Sewing has a very good selection of fabric, haberdashery, machines, equipment, paper patterns, etc. Not sure about yarn as I haven't been in for a while. Also in Camden Road is a very good shop selling all different types of foam for cushion making, chair covering, upholstery, etc. Sorry, can't remember the name.0 Hobbycraft has a reasonable selection of yarn, a relatively small selection of fabrics and just about anything else craft-related. Tunbridge Wells also has quite a good selection of charity shops, eateries and of course, the Pantiles. It has several multi-storey car parks and a few open air car parks dotted around. Pay attention to the traffic restriction signs if driving in the centre of town in the war memorial area! Lots of drivers (including locals 😐) fall foul of the rules. Best to park up and walk. Tunbridge wells is about 20 mins drive from Sevenoaks, or about 10 mins on the train.
