I agree with all your points, Chris! I think the book would have worked very well without the e-mail chapters - and there were indeed some lovely moments when the four of them finally met in the latter part of the novel.

Thanks Kostya! Yes, there are some great moments of frisson that I think Rooney writes really well. Wish she lingered on that messiness!

Thank you for the review! I think I would rather read Normal People now instead of this one. I didn't enjoy Conversations that much, but want to try another one of her novels.
