I love my Impulse 120, in radiant citrus, with the deck paddling, on most of the deck. I did start with the Tempest 120p, and loved it. But I really wanted my fin drive, with the hand. Rudder, all they give you. Plus I can teather my fin drive under my seat, because it's light and small. Love the pdl drive, but bulky, and heavier. I run my bixpy on my blade rudder, but you can also run it with a pod adapter. I can always upgrade to a Nk-180s, or Torqueedo, because the stern is setup for it. I fish large lakes and resevoirs for bass, and love to cover water. And at 5ft 7 151 Lbs. She's Plenty of boat for all my trips. And it arrived in a triple wall box, blanket, and plastic wrap. Not a scratch on her, and not missing anything. 🎣 🙏 😎
How is the speed on the impulse 120 compared to the tempest? My wife has the tempest and I was really impressed at how fast it was compared to my Dorado125. I'm looking to get a lighter and quicker kayak. Looking at the impulse 120, or 135.
@@killough71010 it really moves, especially with the fins. Probably about 3.5 easy half pumps. But I run my motor on long runs.. Awesome boat, both of them. 😎 🎣
Got a Hoodoo Stingray 130S for about a year now. Seems well made, but very tippy feeling for me. I'm 6'4" 300LBS. I'll only take it on lakes and bays in flat conditions. The button that pops out to keep the paddle together that they include rusts badly fair warning.
Hey Mike, how does this kayak compare in terms of stability to the 12’ model you tested about a year prior? Does it paddle that much easier to make up for any lost stability? I’m a 6’ 190lb guy and looking at both models. Thanks a bunch
Could you please do another video in open water and show us the speed turning radius and maybe how it handles in some choppy water. Looks like the kayak for me but there's so little to go on only one written review and two videos
Can I get the Pedal / bicycle type propulsion? Or, has Hoodoo abandoned the propeller all together? If the fin drive is all one can get (deal breaker) how am I supposed to reverse?
I have a hoodoo 120p used all this year in California fishing bass tournaments great yak. But I’m looking for a old town autopilot 136. I just moved out here to east Texas Crosby area. I’m not getting rid of my hoodoo I still use it but I want the spot lock action. Or if you know anyone want to part with one plz let me know thanks
I just picked one up and I'm very impressed with it. I would say it's Hobie Outback on water performance it cruises at 4 mph and can reach a top speed/ sprint speed of 6 mph. I'm 61 192 to 195 and in the highest position I do not feel it's Tippy at all so if you're around my size or under your on water performance will be similar or better than my experience.
