What a clever fellow! You never cease to amaze. I like that jig set up. The bee's wax you suggested a few videos back for a loose stem worked like a champ. Appreciate your knowledge. Enjoy that Meershaum! Cheers my friend!
Totally enjoyed this video. What a great way to save a few hundred dollars. I think I could actually give one of those a try. I would like to make my own stems in the future for my cobs. Take care.
Thanks for the complete project video. Lengthening the tenon was very clever. Question: When the epoxy get heated from the smoke, any problem with taste or adverse impact from epoxy chemicals? As usual, you production was terrific. Very enjoyable. Much appreciated.
Blue Dog good question. No issues at all. I have a few pipes with epoxy repairs in their stems and have never had any issues or been able to taste it. The epoxy cures into a totally inert and hard cement that handles the temperature changes well. I let it cure for at least a week before I smoke it.
Enjoyed your video. Glad to see a very good BC meerschaum, supermate. I happened to acquire an BC Old Root Meerschaum (1282), from ebay, in goodish condition. Any idea of the year such a pipe was made?? in the '50s possibly?? thanks for your time.
Great video! In the video, did you say that you were using a "delrin" rod? By experience I know that delrin smells very toxic and strong when hot or burnt, is this anything you've noticed when smoked the pipe?
