LOL,,, no you are not Sailing La Vagabonde,,, thank GOD!!! hahahahaha... You are Plukky, and thats why we watch. Love the free diving, spear fishing and free living that is you brother... check your paypal bro!!!
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM buy whatever entertains you the most... I find it your heart is helping the natives,,, keep them spearing brother!!! you can blow it on cocaine and hookers,,, but I'm guessing you wont... LOL
Say dude! FYI, the signal for internet on your phone comes from sector panels.. They are the white vertical elongated antennas you see on the tower. The round antennas you see are the backhauls (feeds from different towers that feed the sector panels that give you signal... Nothing is free, but for about $300.00 USD, you can have a directional antenna and router that will feed your boat with wifi based on cell phone from about 30 miles away from the tower, just aim and test.. Oh, and I love the "anything I don't have to do is my favorite thing". Cheers and keep it up! Ojai Rob out..
A few mentioned fresnel, correct issue regarding the signal strength. Fresnel barrel zone, when an object has a grounding effect it soaks the signal down to ground, a tree or other masts etc. The widest part is midway between.
Just a SUGGESTION. If you lower your video quality on your cameras from 1080p HD down to 480P or 360P, it will lower the video file size down to a more manageable size. The smaller the file size is, the less time it takes to upload it to RU-vid. 480P will be less than half the file size from 1080P. 360P will be less than one third the size from 1080P. This will cut your internet bill and maybe save you some gas on your dinghy. Or you can produce 2 or 3 times as many videos.
Yeah, I don't watch SSL anymore. I still keep any eye on your channel though, just to see what kind of trouble you can get into.🙃 well, you didn't let me down.
The fresnel zone is the reason for bad reception to the tower. It's an oval around the direct line of site. You don't want obstructions in the frenel zone.
Another good video Peter. You dont have to be like SLa Vag.Your reef diving and wreck footage is always in a niche of its own.You are a very resilient person. The greatest form of self love I think is discipline.Yes sail when there is wind.Oh and its admirable how you help the Gunas too.You have been through quite a few knocks and come through.Without being twisted and malevolent.Thats speaks a lot of truth in itself.Things will get better Plukky.
You fussing about your soup spoons is hilarious! No worries eating slimy squid raw that had previously been eaten by the fish you had for lunch. You must have the constitution of a croc.
I think foreigners can marry those tribal women with no problem but the foreigners can't own the islands there. Good, because they would be covered in cement if others could own them. I like them like they are.
I've been following sine about ep. 20 keep up the good work mate , actually didn't think he'd get up and get going after the cat sank but fare dues he did .
I think he’s right about reflections though, that essentially doubles the aperture. And transmission thorough water, including in leaves, absorbs energy and attenuates the signal.
you can make sure you kill weevils by sealing rice in ziplocks and throwing them in the freezer for a couple of days. I know youhave one Plukky, stop being cheap. 🤣🤣
La Vag is doing a regatta in Bahamas this spring. Why don't we do a regatta too, like with homemade little wooden boats fitted with sails. I would definitely support such fitting irony and all good fun.
His views were to see Maddy! LOL! Have you seen “Richardo Jr.” (RJ) yet? Does Maddy use the fish head for her soup or stock? Everything I’ve seen her make is like a commercial and makes me crave whatever it was, except it’s in the middle of the ocean and not the store...🤣
This is awesome, I am freezing my nads off in 4F weather, paying $4/gal for propane, with 3 bars of 3G cell for internet. This guy is living everyone's dream and still complaining. We have a problem with society folks.
The signal is transmitted in a wave {you know waves} so what happens is half of the wave is chopped off so it slows to at least half the speed when hit by the tops of the trees. Don't forget the distance you are from the source which makes the waves of the signal lose power on top of that!
Yes, though some miss the beautiful water and corals. and turtles and fish and mermaids and other sea creatures - new title - Diving Into Freedom!!!! What will you do, without freedom??? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k7rPOaoPL4I.html
We would love to see you jass up your videos by adding some new equipment. Autopilot, Chartplotter, wind, speed depth gauges, water maker, gen set, frig, and freezer to start, and then you'll need lithium batteries to support them and solar to support the batteries. Then new deck hardware, sails, windless, electric winches, and you will be just as good as Sufesticated Lady. LOL. Plucky, we will still love you even if you don't.
Plukks can’t chatting up. He’s the one with a informative mouth 👄 It goes on like a sawing machine. And I won’t blame no one ☝️ Captain Plukky 🧢 Rules People! Plukks’s all over the place. Now rock’n roll with Zingaro and his hooties. Hey babbedy ribbade bab yeah!
Cell signals do not travel in a straight line. They travel in an arc. The tower transponders are not positioned well. This usually occurs when there is only one transponder on a tower, which is normal in remote and rural areas. This is even normal in developed countries. Rural America is plagued with this. Cell companies prefer populated areas for investing in infrastructure.
Watch your videos as they are uploaded. Envious of your environment. -26c here tonight in Barrie, Ontario. Should do some spear fishing charters down there or a Jenny Craig weight loss clinic. Keep up the content. 👍🏻
Good stuff Plukky-man, you have single handed chased away all of the bourgeois cruisers, excluding of course the Sophisticated Lady, from the San Blas Is... May your fun with the Z-crew ensue! 😉
Fish soup is always better the next day. My dad used to make a marinated fish recipe that the locals up in Torres Strait called 'Namos'. He used to just use either bait fish or finely sliced whatever was fresh... apple cider vinegar or brown vinegar, a dose of pepper and salt, a splash of soy sauce of course, some garlic, a splash of olive oil or whatever is about other than sump oil...some lemon and any green herbs if you can get them....the vinegar marinates the fish nicely in about 2 hours.... its always extremely tasty and the bowl was always emptied out. I can't remeber anyone dying....but that may just be because I wasn't present on that particular trip. You can also use that as a marinade base for squid...give them a few hours to stew up nicely and then throw them on the flames....but add a dash of ABC sauce to the marinade to make it a bit sticky and sweet. Also....fresh parsley goes well woth any kind of seafood... My parwnts used to have a coolite box with some dirt and a huge patch of parsley and whatever seeds got scattered through and managed to push through the parsley on board permanently on every ship I can remember dad skippering.......super easy to look after and grow...and ALWAYS makes whatever you are cooking better. Maybe ask Maddie if she can hook you up with a small container of soil and some parsley seeds (even if you are stuck with plain white rice, it makes it interesting).....you can harvest a huge fistfull sized bunch pretty much daily and it will regrow extremely quickly.....itll end up looki g like a solid chunk of green...packed in so tightly that it looks like broccoli. Give it some fish juice for fertiliser (if you don't rinse the parsley after a fish fert, the gastro isn't too bad ha)...well worth givin it a try. It kept my parent's onboard cuisine quite edible and interesting even after months out at sea.....it was great to have something fresh.....I used to pluck sprigs of it just to chew on when I was a kid...I didnt even get clapped that hard for stealin it lol
Super! I'm so happy you found some friends! You were sounding a bit dulally before that. Yay. Guilt trip worked on me. I would love to give you some money but I live a simple life away from modern world of Pay Pal? ! The other boats all seem to have lots of dollies and you don't even have one! It seems so unfair!!! Xxx
I can't tell a lie and I really have never done any sort of internet banking- I find it scary . I would rather give some money to a passing yacht who is heading in your direction. -one time in Famouth we met a delivery skipper we knew who was on passage to the marina in south africa where my Captain had previously worked during his circumnavigation. We wrote a letter to his old boss in SA asking for work and gave it to the delivery skipper , who made the passage and handed it over in Port Owen to the boss. We got a call to come ASAP so we did! I have watched all your videos and I think I just need to be brave - I don't meet many yachts heading to Panama! Xxx @@SAILINGintoFREEDOM
Reminds me of Big Lebowski: "He treats Objects like Women Mahn!" ... lol... HEY Megan! Take good care of Plucky for all us sinners who watch his vids. He'll make you smile so much your teeth will get sunburn!
Forgot to mention there's a Crowther Spindrift cat for sale here in Oz, she's rough but still floating and the dude wants someone to throw him an offer. it's on Gumtree. Maybe a crowd funding resto would make some wicked content and you'd end up with another fast sleek cat
6:27 Starlink Plukky. Starlink will solve your internet woes. Insofar as why the 4g signal drops out, is signal penetration. You're most likely at the edge of the tower's service range, and it's an omnidirectional antenna. I'll bet you could get a signal booster and attach it to your mast, but those are 3-4 hundred dollars, and at that price point, just spend a bit extra and get satellite internet with Starlink. I've personally seen 200 mbps speeds down 20 mbs up. Literally if you can see the sky, you have internet. What does your cell phone get? ROFL
elon musk's idea that sounds great on paper has piss poor execution in real life. just like everything else he comes up with. the reason it wont work for plukky is not only has starlink stopped replying to customers who have put in a deposit, they also silently disabled the ability to roam around the globe. your starlink account is linked to ONE unchangeable region that you cannot change on the fly or basically ever. it sounded too good to be true because it is. just like EVERYTHING musk comes out with. the guy was born with a platinum spoon in his mouth and is the most overhyped ideas-guy of ALL TIME
Everyone who reads this go back to episode one and start the journey from the beginning I have made it up to episode 138 and still working on it this weekend
What if you had a camera mounted to the top of your mast facing 45 degrees down and forward and it has a good polarized lens to cut through the glare of the water. It could be like a reef camera when your having a hard time seeing reefs.
When people stop being idiotically afraid of a moderate illness and the world becomes normal again...WAKE UP SCAREDY CATS...I AM ASHAMED TO BE A PART OF THIS HUMAN RACE!!!!?
Mate... Peter... Dude; You videos are always fun, entertaining and informative... you just do what you do, I get a kick out of every one of them... Cheers Mate... Good on you... Nothing but quality... 😊👍😊👍😊👍
My wild Captain - husband ex - husband , now in Davy Jones' locker , sailed round the world via Cape Horn on his own before I met him. He had his type- writer and was writing a book of his journey every day. What you do is a bit like that. I hope you do find some hot chicks for your boat to make you happy! Xxx
Captain Bob used write stories and invent hot chicks for himself ( before he met me). -Boat falling apart makes it more appealing to hot chick - excitement , adventure! You have rigging .... I used to dream about having rigging - we never had rigging! You go to windward . What more would any hot chick want?! You also have the element of the honest tragic hero. I met Captain Bob on a hundred year old sailing boat on a long passage doing 100 long pumps out of seawater an hour. How romantic! Bay of Biscay , 100 pumps an hour, engine on fire, windows blowing in . Charismatic wild hair wild beard Impoverished sailor 25 years older than me - irrisistable! What's wrong with hot young chicks these days! Xxx
You are the only sailing channel i watch, I wont cheat on you Plucky Old Chap - must try that chat up line ' Your teeth are huge' on the next lady I see !!!!!
