What does it truly mean to "seek first the kingdom of God" in our everyday lives? Join me, Megan Ashley, as I unpack how prioritizing God can bring profound transformation to your spiritual journey. Responding to insightful questions from my Patreon community, the Village, we'll discuss practical ways to deepen your understanding of scripture and the value of biblical literacy, with special mentions of the Tony Evans Study Bible and the crucial role of seasoned believers in guiding us toward contextual understanding.
Imagine how prioritizing Christ can redefine your relationships and personal identity. Through personal reflections and candid discussions about therapy, discover the challenges and triumphs of letting go of old attachments and seeking God's guidance in every aspect of life. We'll also navigate the complexities of church culture, exploring how to find a church home that aligns with biblical teachings and discerning when to grow within a community or move on when faced with cultural misalignments. This episode highlights the delicate balance between faith and mental health strategies, providing a holistic approach to well-being.

Give me strength Lord my sons are both special needs children. Guide me as I struggle to buy groceries, and as I struggle to pay rent every month. For the question 🙋🏽‍♀️ from Cassandra scripture Romans 8:26-28 will help you ❤ Paul is saying that though we do not know what to pray and do not know what to verbalize to God in our suffering, the Spirit helps us in our weakness by knowing our spirits. God does not need us to verbalize our needs because God knows our hearts and intercedes for us.

This was a really insightful episode. To add to looking for a church home for me when I was searching I was also really mindful to look for a level of balance. I’m married. We wanted to make sure that there were healthy men in the church for my husband to do life with. We wanted to see were there men there already active and serving and engaging. Often times what I’ve seen is men in leadership and mostly women serving engaging and connecting. We wanted to make sure there was both so that we could both be plugged in.

CHURCH SEARCH COMMENTS: For those in the metro Atlanta area (Marietta, Sandy Springs, Kennesaw, Austell, etc thereabout), Worship With Wonders in Marietta is a good one to try! Pastors Miles & Delana (1st lady) preach straight from the Bible- pastor Miles holds NO bars regarding many hot topics that would get people “Canceled”… if it goes against Biblical principles, he’s gonna speak out against it through reference from the actual Bible. His guests also tend to be the same types of pastors/believers (although I can’t confirm this wholeheartedly). Check their sermons & worship out online to see if it’s the right church style for you, then check them out in person for a few Sundays (wayy different vibe from just watching!🙌🏾). They also do mid-week worship & a ton of other things. PS, from what I’ve gathered, they don’t do “Prosperity preaching” (although they do emphasize the importance of giving & building in a kingdom way), & their children also attend with them and have roles in the church (not sure how many they have, but I know 2 are married & both spouses work at the church in leadership). Hope this helps!! ❤🙏🏽

Hi beautiful 🌞 let God strip you. You have sooo many qualities, some amazing and some amazingly detrimental to yourself. Let God refine you. You’ve been able to present well, but when you ask God to take you to the next level, he won’t let you bring anything that won’t serve Him. Thank God in advance when you’re empty, cause His fill up is like no other. “Those who are trusted with such an important work must show that they are worthy of that trust. I don’t know of any wrong I have done, but that does not make me right. The Lord is the one who must decide if I have done well or not. So don’t judge anyone now. The time for judging will be when the Lord comes. He will shine light on everything that is now hidden in darkness. He will make known the secret purposes of our hearts. Then the praise each person should get will come from God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬, ‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ So keep striding in Christ and let Him be the judge. ❤️‍🩹

@leeshatucker4690

Hello. I know you asked for Megan’s help but if I can submit this to you, have you tried looking deeper into why you are drinking? Like if you’ve had a bad day for example do you come home and have a drink or wine to wind down for example? I would take inventory of what is happening before you crave having a drink. Some of the reasons may be things that God wants you to lay at his feet and lean on him. That worked for me. I hope that helps.

I just recently discovered that sabbath day is actually on Saturday. the bible states that sabbath day is on the 7th day however most churches choose to celebrate on Sunday. can you dive into this subject Megan?
@KN-hh3sv
@KN-hh3sv Месяц назад
The Sabbath, as outlined in the Bible, is traditionally observed on Saturday, the seventh day of the week. In the Old Testament, God commanded the Israelites to observe the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship, following the pattern of creation where God rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2-3). Exodus 20:8-10 states, "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God." While the Sabbath is traditionally observed on Saturday, some Christian denominations, such as Seventh-day Adventists, continue to observe the Sabbath on Saturday. However, many other Christian traditions, including most Protestant and Catholic churches, observe Sunday as the Lord's Day, in commemoration of Jesus' resurrection on the first day of the week. Romans 14:5-6 reminds us, "One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord." Ultimately, the specific day of the week on which the Sabbath is observed may vary among different Christian traditions, but the principle of setting aside time for rest, worship, and reflection remains important in honoring God and nurturing our relationship with Him.

I’m asking this out of pure love and concern … Why must we become members of Patreon to participate in the Bible studies ? As Christians it is our job to help other Christians comprehend the Bible. We should be discipling people free of charge. The podcast is inspiring but people will only be changed by the word of God. Bringing souls to Christ is more important than monetizing your content. It doesn’t sit well with me. None of Jesus disciples or Paul ever charged those seeking God anything. Leading people to Christ the proper way should not be considered “Bonus Content”
@keishanarmstrong
@keishanarmstrong Месяц назад
I am answering based on my best understanding. Asking in love and kindness please that no one bites off my head 🫶🏽. I think 1 Tim 5:17,18 helps some regarding your concerns. Those who serve the body of Christ should be compensated. Especially if it’s their sole/primary work. I’ve seen far too many who are abused under the guise of “this is the Lords work” and in consequence of giving of their full selves to teach, preach, pastor or be a musician full time get little or next to no pay and they struggle. I don’t think that’s God’s will. It may not specify in full detail on how Jesus and the disciples got by financially besides those who funded them out of their means (see Luke 8:1-3) but the church/the body of Christ surely did look after them and ensure their needs were met because they gave of themselves for the sake of the gospel. Those who teach and disciple are doing so at a cost that is far more dear than a subscription. Understandably times are not easy for a lot of us but I don’t necessarily think it is fair or right for the body of Christ to not freely give to those who are committed to the work. And who we can see evidence of their fruit. In this case Megan isn’t even demanding people pay her, she is sharing that it is an option if you want more of what she offers. Compensating someone who has devoted real time to study, shepherd and/or is committed to being a leader others can look to for Christian living and being pointed back to Christ is not a sin. This is different from someone price gouging the saints I believe.
@fallinginlovewithjesus723
@fallinginlovewithjesus723 Месяц назад
@@keishanarmstrong Hey Keshia. Thank you for responding in such a respectful manner. I do believe in pouring into those who make a living off of being in ministry if we have it but I don’t believe information and teachings should be withheld if some members of the body of Christ aren’t able to afford a subscription. That is my main problem. If you’re in a leadership role , Bible studies should be available to all those who follow you. Reading the Bible is what’s going to help people understand who God is not a podcast. I love Megan and I feel her heart is pure but if she’s truly concerned about peoples salvation teaching them the Bible should be free not bonus content. If you’re going to come on a platform and speak about the lord breaking down scripture is a must. God provides for us when we seek the kingdom first. He will take care of her needs with whatever people have to give. Matthew 6:33. And I will review those verses you listed.

If you're referring to her comments on friendships, I wholeheartedly don't believe it's ever shade. I think Megan has learned a lot about herself in how she shows up as a friend in the last year. She is just trying to grow from that. She's discussed how she idolized friendships and made them her sense of self worth her whole life. She does mention friendship often in her podcast but I don't think she's talking about one specific friendship or anyone in particular. Once you hear what she's saying from the perspective of someone who believes we all need work and to hold ourselves accountable in the realm of friendships, I don't think you'll feel that way. I hope you do continue to watch from that perspective because she will definitely teach if you're wanting to learn.
