I lived in France for a year and immediately lost weight, was so much healthier and it is largely because the quality of the food is so superior. I hope to move back there and take my dog. The whole way of life is so much healthier and not driven into the ground for consumption. Thank you!

There’s a lot of valuable information in this episode, which I appreciate. It made me want to start fermenting veggies in a wooden crock. I remember my parents fermenting loads of cabbage and other veggies every fall for upcoming winter in their huge old wooden barrel. We lived back then in the northern part of Russia, short summers and long snowy winters. I don’t agree that it’s a good thing to eat a lot of fiber and the point that the doctor made that the food passes the colon in 90 min or so, compared to 14 hrs with a meat focused diet. It’s not supposed to move this fast unless your body can’t utilize it then it will excrete it fast. If your food stays longer in your gut you also feel fuller longer and don’t have to graze often as one would want if his food moves fast in his colon and after 2 hrs he’s hungry again. We would not have survived like that in the nature. Imo

Animal foods are more bioavailable. The reason the body holds onto animal foods so long is that almost all of the macronutrients and micronutrients are absorbed. A common observation of those who go on a carnivore diet is they defecate a lot less. That is because the body utilizes a much higher percentage of animal foods.

37:46... this sounded strange, so I looked up how carnivores eat their prey. Unfortunately, the guest is wrong. All members of the Cat family are "obligate carnivores", meaning that they don't have the ability to digest and process vegetable material. Typically, they will only eat grass compulsively to make themselves vomit. So the comment about lions going after the gut first, is only half right. The very first thing most carnivores go after, is the liver, heart, and kidneys. Then many will try and open up the skull to get at the brain. If they ever voluntarily eat the fibrous vegetation in their prey's gut, it's because the lion is sick.
@MarmaladeINFP
@MarmaladeINFP Месяц назад
All carnivores prioritize nutrient-dense animal foods: organ meats, brains, eyes, bone marrow, and fat. This is why hunter-gatherers always ensure to procure animal foods and target the fattest animals. During the Paleolithic era, the favorite food of humans were megafauna that were as blubbery as whales. The fatty parts of the animal tend to be where the essential and conditionally essential nutrients are concentrated. Most important are the fat-soluble vitamins, as Weston A. Price determined.

This is SO helpful! Just from my minimal research I knew that kefir and other pills weren't an automatic fix, but I didn't know what to actually do. I have bought local sour kraut with the goal of gut recovery but I didn't know how close I was to a real solution! Making our own sour kraut and swimming in the river sounds like a good summer to me!

This is what is so sad about the American food system. Food manufactures use horrible (fake) ingredients in their products and use the cheapest ones they can at that. Too many chemicals in our food products. Add that to the fact that our medical profession doesn't really take the time to try to find the root problems people have but rather (working in tandem with drug manufacturers) just prescribe medications to MASK the problems, which in turn only add to the next problem. Then you get the next medication prescribed and so on and so on... Drug companies make money and we keep going to the doctors who are in bed with the drug companies. It's a vicious circle. It's definitely been a challenge just trying to remove seed oils from the foods I purchase. I've been working on that one item for quite a while now. Just because a food on the shelf says "organic" doesn't mean a whole lot because "organic canola oil" is still a SEED OIL and something I don't in my products. I absolutely pay more for the items that now fit the bill but in the end it's worth it to me.

This happened to me in 2022: In FEB I had a sinus infection and was put on a "cillin". In MAR I was scheduled for a colonoscopy. The "cillin" killed my gut biome and I got c-diff in my colon. Then I had to go on another "cillin" for that. I had to get a second colonoscopy in JUN to see if the c-diff was gone. For both colonoscopies I had to use Miralax to clean out the colon. My gut biome was messed up. I tried kraut, tempeh, kifer and combucha to restore my gut. All 4 of those made me gag so it wasn't sustainable. Here it is one year later and my gut is still a mess. Being irregular has just become so regular to me that I just tolerate it.

New here. So far, the interview has been bashing farming techniques. Today, farming compared to 50 years ago, it is like night and day with what chemical products were used. Look up furadan, it's is prohibited in the U.S. but, let's talk about the ingredients that are put into processed foods that are camouflaged and that you need a doctrol degree in chemical engineering that are not put there by farming. I'm really enjoying your podcast.

I cut 90% of the processed food from our diets. I eat bagged sauerkraut, then I heard about homemade sauerkraut. We use evoo. The seed oils are horrible. We grow a garden and pick our veggies fresh. We cut going out to dinner a lot. If we cant pay cash, we don't go. I shared a video on FB. I didnt get any likes. No surprise. I believe my friends think I went off the deep end thanks to my minimalist behavior. I believe when we become millionaires, they will change their tunes. We're really close. I tried the all meat diet. It takes a lot of water to function on it. I lost very little weight, but put myself in the ER with it. I was dehydrated. I lost you after the line of life. He definitely had some interesting things to say about gut health, but hard to believe it all when he's simultaneously spewing nonsense. Also did he just try to minimize global warming by mentioning the overall percentage of carbon in our air lol, to make it sound low. If you understand even the smallest bit about global warming, you understand why saying something like this is ridiculous. But that is just the thing....he isn't dumb, he clearly said it to trick people into thinking it isn't a big issue. Here is another stat for you....were releasing carbon 10-20 times faster into atmosphere than the worst mass extinction in Earth's history. Additionally, modern climate change is 10x faster than historic global warming mass extinction events. Please do your own research.

Carnivore is amazing for healing, the end goal should be the ability to eat other things... IF you wish to. Many people turn to carnivore because they struggle with so many other foods or health conditions and a meat based diet is the ultimate elimination and healing diet. If Josh has added back other foods to his diet he is probably healed, which is what we all hope for.
@MarmaladeINFP
@MarmaladeINFP Месяц назад
@@therealjenniferrr - Technically, by definition, one is still carnivore as long as the diet consists of at least 70% animal foods. That is the definition, if an arbitrary cut-off point, that is used to scientificaly determine and categorize which species are carnivore.
@therealjenniferrr
@therealjenniferrr Месяц назад
@@MarmaladeINFP incorrect. Webster states primarily or exclusively. You are thinking of the definition of a hyper carnivore.

Does he realize most carnivores have no trouble pooping. I’m confused by the things this doctors says. People go carnivore to remove allergens and auto immune triggers. You can’t say the same for plant based because many vegetables are triggers like nightshades. I have been clean vegan and was still having psoriasis and RA. But doing dirty Keto it almost all went away. Then carnivore it healed. Also eating a carnivore diet fixes gut problems. He should know that it treats gut problems. It’s just weird. I don’t know. You can’t get rid of all fiber while eating vegetables. Was the doctor there when josh was talking about how he healed his gut or was that added after. Also lions eat the intestines for the viscera which has the highest fat on most animals they hunt and many lion have a technique to remove the poop from the intestines they eat. They are not eating it for the fiber.
