That is how I feel and I’ve been doing it for 9 years! I am looking for remote jobs too! It will be a change but I think it is best for my mental health.
Same. I’ve been working nights for the past year, gained like 25lbs and caught THE BIG C in December & I couldn’t tell you the last time I’ve had 8 hours of sleep in a day. By the grace of God I landed a Monday-Friday 8-4 nurse administrative position that I start in April. I pray that an opportunity comes your way to give you the work/life balance you desire! 🌻
Thank you for the kind words! I really am trying to find a job I love! I am applying everywhere I can! I know something big is in my future! Best of luck to you!
Always trust your intuition and what feels right for you, sometimes it is the hardest thing to do what feels necessary for ourselves. Thank you for sharing your story
Old old video but as for your family, just dont tell them as much. Take your thoughts and ideas to your friends and your actions to your family. You can chat with the guys/girls about being stressed, and then tell your mom you (already) got a better job at a new clinic or whatever. Don't let others run your life for you
You're not the only one. I thought I wanted to be a nurse and I became a tech last year. I lasted one month. It's so unsafe. After my all day self defense class, and all the stories I've heard of techs and nurses getting attacked, and seeing what the nurses go through, I was done.
You’re definitely not the only one! I’m on the same boat as you. I started off my career as an RN in nyc during the peak of the pandemic, so you can imagine I got burnt out quickly. I transitioned to working as a travel nurse so I can have some flexibility and time off between contracts. By far the best experience has been in California. Maybe look into local travel nursing so you can take time off here and there. It’s helped me so far, but I’m trying to transition to outpatient.
Love your content! I’m a new nurse with barely a year under my belt. I am also really unhappy and slightly depressed working bedside. It’s exhausting. And my mom says the same thing when I say we are overworked 🙄 My goal is to work an office practice position while going to school for a midwifery degree or NP degree and work in another country. I work in oncology now and it’s seems things are only getting worse. Best of luck to You ❤
Oh My God thank you! I really enjoy making RU-vid videos because it is like a getaway from the strains and stresses of being a nurse LOL glad you are enjoying! Nursing is just not what it use to be. After the pandemic it all went downhill I feel. Bedside seems to be the worse of it. Best of luck to you too!
I’ve heard that! People say psych is a different type of stress though because patients can be combative, confused and super non compliant. Psych is it’s own beast!
