Go Jo Jo! What a scorching set. P.S. You can't be a '70s hard rock guitarist without the electric blue satin trousers! Even Jay Ferguson's leopard pants have to take a back seat to those threads.

ya think of Dr Hook these days, and ya think lol, joke band... but then you watch these guys play live and realize they are all really good musicians and actively change song structure at the drop of a hat, takes a boat load of talent and faith in the band to even attempt that and these dudes pulled it off flawlessly.

It seems that they were pretty baked in just about all of their shows from that era. There are some clips of them performing on Shel Silverstein's houseboat where they all look pretty wasted, but their singing and harmonies are still spot on and gorgeous. Wild and crazy times.

Wow, those El Chicano clips are killer! Perfect, tight instrumentation and (on "Tell Her She's Lovely") vocals as well. Also love the Spinners' two performances. Poor Canned Heat: After Al Wilson's death, they struggled to stay relevant and you can tell they're just barely hanging on here if they're reduced to doing medleys (not that Fats Domino wasn't great).

Jo Jo Gunne, what a great performance! Lineup seen here is Jay Ferguson, Curly Smith, Jimmie Randall and John Staehely. Bassist Mark Andes left the band after the first album, and was replaced by Jimmie Randall. Guitarist John Staehely (a former member of Spirit) replaced Matt Andes after their third album, “Jumpin' the Gunne”, and would prominently featured on their fourth and final album, “So...Where's the Show?” (my personal favorite). Both Randall and Staehely contributed to this overall harder rocking version of the Gunne!

In early 1974 glam rock and makeup was still a thing. Leo was trying different things early on and flirted with the look via the mime thing. He straightened his visuals out, went pop and sold about zillion records a couple years later

You bet!! Love his slide playing here. His brother is founding bassist Mark Andes who’d already left by this time, darn it as I’ve got a major crush on him haha. He started the Colorado band “Firefall” & played with “Spirit” & “Heart”. Very Talented Brothers.

Leo Sayer and his glam rock outfit. This tells me where the glam rock get-up crap came from , England !! Influenced by David Bowie, no doubt !! Disappointed in his looks and performance here. Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show appears to always have fun on stage, always outstanding, high or not !!
