Bernoulli has finally patched together the footage he can salvage from episodes 6 and 7. Watch Hannah disassemble and remove the doors, and remove the glass from her classic type-1 beetle!
really love these lessons!! I wish I would have bought a VW like this for my sons to learn how to be as inventive as this young lady!! Way to go Hannah!!
As a long time bug guy, the whole time u were cutting that rubber on the rear side window i was saying to my self " and put some duct tape from the top down so the window does not AHHHHHHHH ! " LOL
Great job saving what footage you could to provide us with this episode ! nothing wrong with the emergency warning, some people don't have a sense of humor ! keep it up Hannah ! will follow you on this project to completion .
For anybody watching, another tip on removing window cranks with a wire c-clip is to use a rag. Slip it behind crank and work the rag in the direction to take off the clip. The rag snags the end of the clip and pulls it off. Keep it up Hannah👍🙂
good work on a tough job dealing with old window rubber! Forget what the other people said, I like the EBS Zombie Apocalypse part since that is my style of humor.
I hope you keep the stickers on that rear window (assuming they won't get in the way of checking the car's blind spot). I like the character and history they add.
If you ever find Phillips screws you can't get look for something called an impact driver. They're not very expensive these days. It was the only way we could get screws out of our early Honda motorcycles...... Great job and good save on that glass!
Was just about to post the same. There are two rather different tools with the same name though, there's the electric sort that work like an air rattle gun and there's the manual sort that you hit with a hammer. The manual hit with a hammer sort would be ideal for the door screws.
TRX...you are correct that Jim didn't in fact have Phillips screws on his older Honda, however they are actually called JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). Jim, if you encounter these screws again and you don't have a JIS driver (expensive), a good way to avoid cam-out is to grind the tip back on a Philips driver. If the screw has a dimple beside the driver profile it's a JIS screw.
hey cutie, I'm looking forward to the next chapter of the Bug build!!! You are very impressive in your ability- keep up the great work, I can't wait to see where this project goes!
Are you going to upgrade to power windows? There are ways to keep the look stock, but upgrade some features. Power locks are easy also, but slightly less important on a 2 door car, but there are setups with no switches, and if you add an alarm or remote lock set up, etc. its a nice feature. There are ways to retrofit most luxuries, cheaply or for a high price tag, its just up to how creative you get with it.
Wasn't a fan of the zombie apocalypse waning either (I know it breaks up the monotony a bit with technical videos) just choose something cute or funny. Maybe Bernoulli fetching some tools for you! Still love your vids Hannah, I'm following this project till the end! Wanna see you drive that beauty down the driveway when all done!
Someday Hannah will be at the ball field and a ball smashes the rear side glass. While evwryone else panics and gasps in horror, Hannah says, "Aw, that's ok. Easy fix." :D
