Great video! I went to a quick care place first, the lady doctor there vehemently insisted I go to the E.R. to get checked. I went to the E.R, and the female P.A. took a picture of my breast, and sent it to a female breast surgeon for a consult. I was in her office in two days, first time I heard of Inflammatory Breast cancer and she ordered a mammogram, then a needle biopsy, and MRI the following week. I was very lucky, I am only stage 3, with one lymph node involved. I am very, very lucky these ladies were there.
@@cancerchats5127 yes, doing ok. I only finished about 2/3 of the chemo, I had a hard time with it, so my doc tried splitting the dose into 3 visits. My blood counts would crash after, and it would take 3 weeks or more to get my counts back up. I lost 60 pounds in 4 months because of the constant nausea, I couldn't eat much except fresh fruit and some pickled foods. I'm 2 weeks post op for the radical mastectomy on the left, and the pathology report said there is no trace of the cancer in 13 different specimens. Not sure what's next, except physical therapy and waiting for the drains to come out.
Ah, the drains coming out! I remember being so jazzed to get those out. I'm sorry that chemo beat you up so bad, 60 pounds is awful! I hope you are on the upswing with knocking surgery out.
That is so sweet of you! I deal with the lasting effects of chemo and radiation, but mostly I have pain caused by the estrogen blockers that I’m on. However, the cancer isn’t doing anything right now, so I’m extremely happy about that!
I am my screening next week Friday...I have a small crust patch about 5mm in size. It doesn't really spread. It itches and my nipple itches as well. Been there for 6months...now looks like a small sore patch with scab. First doctor dismissed it a dry skin, second doctor send me for breast cancer screening. I am hoping for the best.
I've been told mine couldn't be mastitis because i stopped breastfeeding 7/8 months ago. Was told it could be a cyst rupture..currently on antibiotics and waiting an ultrasound. I had to be an advocate with my endometriosis..I feel like I am going to have to do it again with this breast pain& swelling in my armpit.
I’m going through this now they gave me a ultra sound not showed nothing there just let me go and haven’t followed up I rang doctors today as boob inflamed again pain and swollen they refused to see me had to call 111 this has been going on since may last year
thank you. I have had a weird red blotch that seems to be getting bigger (no swelling or pain)...I told my doctor 3 months ago..they think it is dermatology related but today I wrote to get an appt with a breast doctor at a cancer center....I just can't shake worrying about this. Just want to get this figured out.
I have all these symptoms and went to the er. They just did an ekg and said to follow up with my doctor but I already went to my doctor a week ago and she said well you have a mammogram coming up in a month so just give it until then! I’m so frustrated and desperate, I don’t know what to do! My mom had breast cancer about 10 yrs ago and had a mastectomy.
Hi, I've been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer triple negative in November 2021. Started chemo in December and 4 rounds radiation in jan. I really need to talk to someone. plz reply
I’m so scared. I have all the symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer but I was told I have mastitis. I’ve been on antibiotics for 11 days and I’m still in a lot of pain and just feel in general not well. I think I have 2 more days of antibiotics. They said I should feel better in 72 hours. I have a mammogram on Thursday, I’m so scared. But I read that a mammogram can’t detect inflammatory breast cancer 😢
If you still have all your symptoms but the antibiotics aren’t doing anything and nothing shows up on the mammogram, push for a biopsy. Hang in there, but be sure to advocate for yourself! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have similar systems just been given creams and they have not worked will start taking antibiotics tomorrow Not pregnant. Am 43.in.peri menopause. How soon after you take your antibiotics and you feel they have not worked.should you get checked!?and if creams or antibiotics improve but don't get rid of all the symptoms. Do you still need to get checked out.also thank you for making me feel more understood.even if I only have a breast infection your video made me feel less alone and more supported
I had a couple round of antibiotics before it became clear something else was going on. However, IBC is really aggressive, so I might push for a biopsy, or mammogram, or sonogram if things aren’t clearing up soon! I’m hoping you just have an infection!!
Can I ask is IBC be something that can come and go and symptoms calm.by body looks recently normal but the pain is still there. ? The doctor put me on anti inflammatory drugs.i have to wait 6 to 9 weeks for breast check support
@@Sileaine in my experience the symptoms were consistent. If the antibiotics aren’t doing something rather quickly, I’d seek a second opinion. Maybe it’s not IBC, but IBC is so aggressive it would make me nervous to wait that long.
Thank you for your video. Does antibiotics help even a little bit?? I am going through some symptoms. The pain is still there, and the lump seems to get a little bit better with antibiotics but didn't vanish.
I had had a itchy rash on my boob! No pain or swelling just very itchy. Was this a symptom of any one else?? I get an ultrasound next week. Had this rash about a week. Some days it looks better
Ive been having burning feeling in my breast and underam but my doctor insists its nothing and shes considered one of the best breast surgeon in my area. I have state medicaid, so i cant really afford to get 2nd opinion. Im frustrated because my skin is starting to change and i have a rash extending from my breast to my underarms. Im 21 and don’t have any kids.
Ugh, that’s a tough place to be in. Did you ask about IBC in particular? If so, what did she say to that? Did she have any plan for clearing up this rash?
Thank you so much for your explanation! I've been diagnosed with mastitis mind you I am not I never happen pregnant or nursing. Which is rare but can't happen. However I've been having a shiny texture to my left breast but gigantic lump, and dumpling. I'm going to try to finish my antibiotics before I go to the doctor. But I am very concerned.
I was on a couple of courses of antibiotics before they figured out what was up with me. If nothing changes with your breast (and I hope it does!!) be persistent about getting another diagnosis. I pray you just have an odd case of mastitis!
@@nireneelloc5565Yes, I went in, and they drained the lump (15mL) They said it was not Cancer. However, the lump has come back with a rash and bruises around my arm.
@@LisaLuvMarie 👀 honestly, not to tell you what I think you "should" do but I'd get a second opinion. The majority of stories told had these women going multiple times for a proper diagnosis. Not saying you have anything and I surely pray you don't, but yea I would. I'll come back here occasionally to look for an update lol
@@nireneelloc5565 Thank you! I am supposed to get a ultrasound soon, and they put me on another antibiotic. If this antibiotic does not work I will go for a second opinion.
I have the breast discoloration and other symptoms, but after 2 weeks the discoloration is subsiding. Can I take it as a good sign? I’ve read that if it is IBC, the rash doesn’t subside at all without treatment.
I would probably breath a little easier, but I would also TOTALLY still go get checked out by a medical professional. IBC is sometimes hard to diagnose but you really don’t want it to go undiagnosed. Here’s hoping you don’t have IBC, but go make sure!
Have you made an appointment with your doc? If not, try and get seen as soon as possible! Hopefully, it just a bad scare, but it's always better to get it checked out.
I've been in the hospital 4 times. It's been scary. I have never had children. My left breast started out very swollen. Kept getting more red no matter what they done. It's the left breast and mine looked like that. They would put me on antibiotics... Helped with redness very little. I have been going through this 6 months now. Now bc my reg Dr said I needed a mammogram bc he said that would put me in severe pain. The redness only goes away 20 percent and that's it. I see my surgeon today. I'm in severe pain😥 Did your breast get hard too?
I am triple positive, so ER, PR, and HER2 were all positive. We started with AC chemo and eventually moved on to TCHP. Later, I had a radical mastectomy on my left side and radiation. Then I had a hysterectomy to help control the ER and I take AIs to eliminate any further estrogen from my body. I hope that helps, if you have any more questions please let me know.
@@cancerchats5127 my mom seems to have IBC (orange peel like breast, size of breast doubled, pus, redness in skin) she is ER & PR negative only HER2 POSITIVE. She was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in this August, Got into liver too (liver secondaries).
@@addapavan5200 got ya! So, things will be different with her treatment but being HER2 positive, I’m guessing, will drive a lot of what they do. A lot of my chemo and continuing meds deal with HER2. There are a lot of treatments these days for HER2. I hope she handles them well!
My left breast is swollen, as well as my lymph nodes under my armpit which has been there for about three months and its uncomfortable, my nipples and around it itches but i don't have a rash, just slightly pink in areas, but now im noticing some red spots appearing on my right breast there is only one spot that is dimpling a very small area, I don't have inverted nipples. But my breast are tender especially my left.
I would totally get that checked out. No reason to panic, but totally a reason to visit you GP. Push for a sono and a biopsy. 🙏🏻 for good results and a helpful doc!
I'm here because my wife is 20 weeks pregnant with our first child and has developed the peau d'orange look with increased thickness of skin but it is at the bottom, middle of both her breasts. We went to see her OB and he assured us it wasn't IBC. He said it would be a harder texture and also because the affected area is practically mirrored, he's confident it is a combination of hormonal changes and heat irritation from breast swelling (we also live in South Mississippi). However, we are not willing to risk it and have scheduled an appointment with MD Anderson in Houston. Do you mind if I ask if yours is on both breasts or just one?
@@kevinquito7947 I think it’s so smart what y’all are doing! Mine was only on one breast but I’ve heard of it being on both. I’ll be praying that y’all get good results!
Hello, how was your IBC diagnosed? I'm curious to know if it can be detected through ultrasound? I have one scheduled for tomorrow, already had a mammogram.
I had a doctor do my ultrasound and they were pretty confident that I had cancer at that point, but I wasn't officially diagnosed until they did a biopsy. I hope all goes well for you!
I had a couple rounds of AC chemo, followed by a couple rounds of TCHP chemo. Then I had a radical mastectomy on my left side followed by 33 rounds of radiation. I ended up having a totally hysterectomy. Now I do Herceptin infusions every three weeks and take estrogen blockers orally every day.
mam my mother have triple negative breast cancer also she has multiple lump on her left breast but she also have orange peel skin and redness so mam is it a IBC pls help our dr doesn't say about this my mother have redness pls help what shoul i do
Just so we’re clear I understand. I am new to the IBC world and it’s a crazy story but would love to connect with you. Not in a creepy in person way. But I saw your video waiting on my biopsy and knew for sure my dx. Your videos are great! Prayers to ya xxx
Please help me my mother's breast is enlarged , very lightly red, and it looks like there are holes in the breast and breast is thick and swollen also one lump is there
Get her to a doctor asap. It sure sounds like she needs a sonogram and a biopsy. But her regular GP should be able to get the ball rolling. If she doesn’t have one, go to the ER. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I know there was a period of time that I didn’t really think much about my breast getting larger, but I didn’t have pain early on at all. My symptoms probably lasted about 3-4 months before I was diagnosed. I wouldn’t think someone could have IBC and live for years with it untreated. It is too aggressive.
I’m general, no. However, I was in my first trimester of pregnancy at the time and I was feeling pretty rough from that. So, it’s hard for me to differentiate. Sorry, that’s not very helpful.
@@cancerchats5127 no its ok, I go see my doctor tomorrow. Praying it's nothing, I just feel like something isn't right. So happy that you beat cancer! Hug hug
@@JennyLynnMinistries well, I have stage 4 cancer, so I can’t really beat it. I have a terminal diagnosis. However, I am doing well now. I’ll be praying that your doc can give you some answers and that you aren’t dealing with cancer!
@@cancerchats5127 I'm sorry I assumed you beat it by the sounds of it, and you look so good. Doctors can diagnose something but God can do anything !! He is the ultimate doctor in Heaven. I will add you to my prayer list my friend🙏🙏
