WHERE MY MOMS AT!? It's the show by the Moms for the Moms. Hosted by everybody's favorite "cool mom" Christina P! Not only the most REAL show for moms, but the most interactive. An open place to admit no one really knows what they're doing.
LeeAnn Kreischer is the host of the "Wife of the Party" podcast, wife of Bert Kreischer, and a varsity mom. She joins Christina P on WMMA once again to discuss the book "Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man." LeeAnn covers many topics from the book, explains what it's like raising two teenagers during quarantine, and discusses the idea of toxic masculinity. CP and her react to listener submitted Michelin "Driving with Kids" stories about repeating bad words and not wearing seatbelts.
Christina P. wants to hear from you since she is seriously lacking in cool mom friends. If you want to share a "Mom Fail" or "Mom Hack" please call into our voicemail (213)375-5184 and let Christina know! We want to talk to as many moms across America as we can.

I really hope Leanne sees this for Georgia. Take the gap year. I did it and it was amazing. Not only did it make me excited to go back to school because I worked the whole year off, but I was able to make sure I was going to school for something I wanted to do. You’re so young when you graduate from high school. Take a year off and get to know yourself a bit more. I hope Bert and Leanne let her travel for a year. She is lucky to have parents in such a good financial standing, she can take the time to really figure it out
@raystoker7914
@raystoker7914 Год назад
My anecdotal experience, based on friends who took gap year Vs friends who went straight to varsity, almost total opposite of yours. I found as follows:- 1. Kids who didn't know what they wanted to do in future, PLUS took gap year = became even MORE uncertain about their future plans. Many ended up having really kooky, out there plans. Some only came right, got some sort of actionable plan and discipline a number of years down the line. 2. Kids who already/always knew what there future plans were, PLUS took gap year = came back after gap year even more eager and focused to carry out their future plans. Gap year had given them experience and perspective and helped them realize just how much they wanted to achieve those goals they already had. In short, my view is that I'm afraid if u really dont know what to do with your life at 18, a gap year most likely NOT going to cause you to realise what u want out of life, in fact it will probably make even less certain of what you want to do.

My high school in Mankato Minnesota offered a Intro to Auto Shop class called "Know your car," as well as a course beyond that one also in Auto Shop. I took the intro and absolutely loved it. I had over 100% and learned so many valuable things. We changed the oil on our own cars and our classmates as well. We changed tires, flushed cooling systems, and learned about the entire makeup of a vehicle.

I appreciate SOO MUCH that you had this conversation! Kids are led to believe they need to have it all figured out at 16 years old and that they can not stray from this path once it is set. I love that Christina admitted to trying things and walking away when her heart told her it's not right. Don't know many people who would.

I think for teenagers the best thing is to have them Volunteer at different facilities. No pay but they get to see different options. I know that with the Pandemic you can't volunteer but you can start investigating. I started volunteering in a hospital got some experience and got a job. Police, firefighters, community events, hospitals etc.. have volunteers.

Mom of 17yo(f), 15yo(m). It is hard. It is weird. You’re the same, they’re not. But i PROMISE in a way, you’re ready. You’re ready to just be you, have the space. I didn’t think i would be but you all grow apart together gradually if you start letting go a TEENY bit all the time. Trust the process, smother them with love now. Tell them you trust them often. Talk about HOW you make good choices, not just what the choices are. They’ll get it and you’ll feel comfortable being away if you feel comfortable they’re aware of the same things you are. You’re doing great! Keep it up mommies.

That teenage sleep cycle is brutal. I swam year round so my schedule would be waking up at 4:15 for morning practice, going to school and literally sleeping through my last two classes, another practice after school until 6-6:30, going home and sleeping, waking up at 1 am to do homework and sleeping with whatever time I had left after that
