It is a pleasure to explain as many detail as possible in order to make understand better what I am doing. But I do not pretend that others are changing. Changing is the most difficult thing for all of us and I know it very well by observing myself.

The new one is a lot shorter. Was the string distance too high? What gaps for the C and A?

Thank you Edgar, this detailed explanation was most helpful. You made me realise that my bass bridge is not well adjusted. My strings for instance go to deep in to the wood instead of standing on top but supported. I'm thinking of going to my Luther and asking Neal to make me a new bridge because my bass is dull sounding when it should be able to sing. Your knowledge is obviously immense and I enjoy your teaching method. Stephen Wilson, Durham, UK

You could ask your violinmaker to install feet screws! In that way you can leave the same bridge; reduce the upper area by recreating a better area where the string lies and on a bass it actually increases its sound. And you can adjust the string height And you can adjust left and right which is also ear opening!!!!! 😉

think an electric guitar player watching this
@EdgarRuss

Almost 40 years ago it all started because of electric guitars which I made at the age of 15 years.........Maybe you figured out by watching my videos. And I am still attracted by electric instruments. Actually I am working on a project.....but this comes in a few years.....because there are a few things which have not been considered by now and we would have the technology. Enjoy and have fun 😉👋🏼🎻👨🏽‍💻

I do not know anything about the Paganini Bridge! Can you give me some more information? Or is it this metal made pickup version I found searching the internet? Let me know, I am curious 🧐
