I'm glad the Marc Maron interview they kept referring to was NOT included here. The vast majority of phone interviews on this podcast weren't entertaining at all.

I really don’t think it was a case of that. I think Mike just fell in love with her and she was nice to him because she knows how he is. Also, sure she probably used mikes slightly larger name from being around Artie to book them shows but keep in mind she also booked Mike plenty of shows he would have never gotten on his own which put plenty of money in his pocket. She was definitely friends with him just in a compassionate “this is a good hearted person who really likes being around me” kinda way.
She told him to stop fawning over her. Mike is just a delusional simpleton. What “fame” do you possibly think Mike has? They’re at the same level. Should she have just abandoned him?

Stacey is not a good friend to Mike. She likes the way his affection feels and thus selfishly won’t tell him she has no romantic interest. I feel bad for Mike, she set him up for the heartbreak of a lifetime.
She says multiple times in other episodes that she loves Mike “as a friend”. Nothing she ever said on this show would ever lead me to believe she led Mike on. Even Mike himself plays it down when Artie says Mike is in love with Stacey. Mike was clearly head over heels for her and nothing Stacey said or did was going to stop that. Should she just stop being his friend?
