I've owned a RK37 for about a year now. So far it's been perfect. A little light for some of the huge hay bales I work with but I added some ballast and it's fine. I have the cab model, the heat and air is nice.

After looking at all the aspects and reading multiple reviews on different tractors, r.k seemed like a reasonable choice. Filled out an online app, was approved and drove to the store and picked out the loader/tractor I wanted. Spent about an hour for the emails and e sign to go back and forth and trailered it home, all done via my cell phone. I only have a few hours on it, but it feels like a solid piece and pulls strong. One thing I liked about r.k is the prices are all posted up front and readily available for your drooling pleasure. While I was there, I picked up a finish mower and box blade still in their crates. The deciding factor for me was the price, service locations and up front price listing. Every now and then, there's a bad apple in every brand. Not enough negative reviews on the r.k to discourage me from making the purchase. Thumbs up and thanks for the video.

Yes, I love that you can see the price without going to the dealer. Still waiting for the big "quote" email for a Kioto I looked at. What a bother! In the future there will be no sales man. Don't need them. You can get all info online.

I just bought 2019 massey 1725. The dealer is 9 miles away and was there before I was born. Digs good enough for what I have to dig.

I bought an RK 55 in Dec 2017, it's a TYM T554 with RK decals on it. I have a bit more than 350 hrs on it right now. I use it for loader work, mowing, tedding, raking and square baling hay. It came with more standard features than the T554 at my local TYM dealer at a better price. RK also puts an 8 yr warranty on it as opposed to the standard 5yr warranty on TYM's. So far it's been completely trouble free with just standard maintenance. I do all my own service work, the only way I'd take it in is for warranty work. I sold my old MF65 utility tractor when I bought this. I also have an 81 hp MF1085 that I just overhauled the engine on, and a 99 hp MF 491 those two do the brush hog and round bale work. My only complaint is the Tier IV emissions on such a small engine, not a complaint against the tractor as much as against the EPA. A DPF on a 55 hp diesel is ridiculous IMO, maybe when it's out of warrant I can find a tuner that'll let me get rid of that and bump the hp up some. A common rail diesel is quite easy to tune.

I watch outdoors with the Morgans. He is a Kubota owner that RK approached to let him take 4 models and use them on various projects and give his honest opinion. If you are interested in RK I would watch because I like seeing the tractor actually being used/ serviced/ commented on so I suspect others would as well. Good video as always my friend.

Good point Robert Lamb. Mike Morgan is actually using his RK tractors and isn't sitting on a tractor seat giving his "honest opinion" when he really doesn't know Jack about RK tractors.

As a big fan of Outdoor with the Morgans.... I have to say as Mike says, A tractor is not a dozer... Mike is a very good operator... His best advice: Go slow, take your time... Many new people to tractors jump on one and treat it like a skid steer.... No brand of tractor will take that kind of abuse... I learned the hard way to never push with just one side of the bucket... Good video...

My research on RK tractors reflects an honest effort and plan to sell and service a quality tractor. Big box (non dealer) models can scare people off when putting out the money necessary to purchase one. Most of the negative complaints have to do with the absence of a local dealer and not with the quality of the tractor. On another note, Outdoor with the Morgan’s is a great channel. Yes, it’s a little heavy on RK and Stihl product content, but if you are looking at tractors and power tools, it is nice to see them in action. I think Mr. Morgan has been transparent as to his relationships with RK and Stihl. The guy on here criticizing Morgan needs to move on. He made his point.

Well I can remember having Stihl's cut a lot of wood did not have to run and buy one every month and weed whips to the guess keep running.Friends and relation all try to out do with Huksvarna.Bigger and better but I love my stihls the oilamatic chains the bars only way for me the were built for polish people.Know they tell me the husky is not worth fixing it cost to much They aren't buying Polands they are buying stihls i have added to my stihl some one will come with one that won;t run a sell it cheap so i buy it and trade them out.

I have a TYM 433 with a Perkins motor and gear transmission. I have used it mostly for hay work on 5 acres for the last 8 years. There are a couple minor issues (plastic around the gauges shrunk in the hot sun under a tarp, and fitting that connects the loader valve to the cable broke due to a bad casting), but over all at 120hrs I have been happy with it.

I've owned a TYM 353 for 5 years and put over 600 hours on it. It's been a tank, weighs more and lifts more than the competition and has been trouble free. When I had the opportunity to pick up a used RK74 I jumped on it. Even though it only had 100 hours on it there were a few things I wanted to fix and get it back to like new. Rural King has been a total disaster to work with, if you buy an RK tractor expect you will not have any support from Rural King. Try to order a tractor part from Rural King and you will know what I'm talking about, I live 5 hours from the nearest Rural King store. They have no system to take an order on the phone, get you information, credit card and ship it to you! That's assuming you can actually get someone on the phone in the tractor section, customer service can't help either. The tractor parts are not in their "system" and can't be ordered online. The good news is most of the RK parts are available from Mahindra and of course TYM, the part numbers are the same between the three companies. I finally just called a TYM dealer, told him what I needed, gave him my information, credit card and the part was on it's way. That's the way it's supposed to work.

Thanks for that input...I assumed from the beginning my RK24 may not have Rural King to help for the long haul but assumed I can always get parts at TYM but didn't realize Mahindra was a source as well. My dad had a Mahindra 4500 for 16 yrs as has been a tank. I borrowed it for the heavy clearing on my 10 acres and the RK 24 is for the smaller things ( with a back hoe). So far RK24 has a 100 hrs and pleased as whirled peas : )

That's why I bought the real thing. RK Tractors are TYM Tractors with RK stickers on them. I almost bought a RK tractor but found a TYM tractor at a reputable dealer with a service shop.

Good video 👍. You made alot of good common sense points. If I was a TYM dealer and rural king started selling these tractors near my dealership I would not be happy. It would be a slap in the face and strain relations with TYM.

I see how people are commenting about having trouble finding parts or getting repairs down the road for an offbrand tractor. I have one of those tractors and the transmission needed a gear replaced. I called local Kubota and a John Deere dealership and they said they won't work on Chinese crap... I called Massey Ferguson farther away no problem they picked it up on a roll back and had it fixed and delivered in 2 weeks. So to be helpful, parts are easy to get and maybe it's a good idea to find a dealership that works on all brands. Just because there is a local Ford dealership doesn't mean I'm only buying a Ford jmo.

We purchased a rk55 in 2019 we use it to mow ours and a couple of neighbors pastures so far so good , doesn't big down in deep grass and weeds ( some were waist deep and over my head ) loader lifts pretty good a little more than a ton lift capacity a/c works great ( bought that feature for my wife who likes to mow the fields but not spiders , and after her last encounter while on our old John Deere terrified of the golden orb that had gotten into her shirt and was standing in the field half naked we got the cab ) nice to have Bluetooth radio to listen to will keep you posted .

Just had new RK come into the area here , There doing Really Good. I look at the Tractors all the time, Good looking Tractors. I do know the Yanmar engine in them, Ones I have seen and had ALL Been dependable ,Solid engines....

I have a JD755, Yanmar diesel, runs GREAT, YANMAR has been around for a L-O-N-G time. Ordered a RK24 from Rural King and am to pick it up this Sunday 3/8/20. I have talked to quite a few owners, have watched MANY video's, and the good FAR outweighs any bad. The Morgan videos give many thumbs up on them, a few down. Mike seems like honest, no bullshit, no favoritism type of guy. We have had John Deere (China, Argentina, Brazil, India, Germany), Branson (sold to TYM, South Korea), Mahindra (India, China, Aus), Kubota (Japan), dealers in the area. I bought a JD 26 HP D170, and it is a TRUE piece of SHIT, 2nd trans (Tuff Torq K46 GARBAGE) in just over 200 hours. Mahindra is known for electrical problems, Kubota has both good and bad and is way over priced, basically for the "name" just like the John Deere. Deere USED to be a U.S. staple, no more, lost its luster and reliability. Not sure about the Bransons goods or bads. MOST if not all Tractors sold here in the U.S. are made in China, South Korea or Japan, India, Brazil, Germany, etc. then shipped to and assembled here in the US. So MADE IN THE U.S. is in reality more like "assembled" in the U.S. Soooo, yeah, TYM sells their own, and are in part or fully (covert), behind Rural King and now Branson. The Rural King store here is NONSTOP business, always people there, parking lot full. It has been there for years, open 7 days a week. Hopefully they will be there for many years to come, customers really like them !

really enjoyed your take on the tractors. So many tractors to choose from . I've owned 3 Kubota tractors and was almost convinced to to go with the RK37 over getting the L3901. If I decide to move up to a 50hp machine I'll definitely go RK55! I do believe TYM and RK are the same machines. Thank you for posting.

Mattoon is the home of Rural King, and their store has a huge distribution center attached to the back. I've picked up and delivered to them, they even have a popcorn machine in the shipping and receiving office for the drivers.

Putting a tried and true Yanmar engine in your tractor is a great start. Green tractors have a great track record with yanmar engines. This would give me some comfort as a first time buyer of the RK brand.

Mike Morgan had a lot of Free-bees from Rural King, a couple of there tractors to try out and to loan me some tractors attachments. He had them for two years. Mike now is using Kubota MX 5400 Utility Tractor, and he has a couple of them. You Tubers always get Free stuff to try out.

I've had my RK-37 Hdyrostatic Cab tractor with 7.5 backhoe and L102 loader for over three years now and I'd stack it up against any like Kubota, Kioti or other brand, I USE my tractor and work it fairly hard. I've outlifted, out dug and out performed everyone else around me with other brands. Only had one issue, a JIC line fitting came loose on one of my backhoe cylinders and leaked enough hydro fluid to stop lifting but had enough fluid to drive back to the trailer and load up. Took it 15 minutes to my Rural King, they checked all the fittings again, filled it up with Hydraulic fluid, washed it off and even loaded it back on my trailer. Asked them how much I owed them, they handed me a sandwich, the keys and said, "have a good day Gus".

I looked at the RK tractors in Beckley. I was impressed at what I saw for the money. I am a Kubota guy and bought a new L 2501 HST two years ago and have no regrets. The L 2501 gets under the tier 4 issue because it does not apply to anything 25 HP and under. It is the same size tractor as the L 3901 and with loaded tires weighs around 4000 pounds so it can do some good work.

Retire Soon I also went with the l2501 over the RK junk. The l2501 is a beast! It has the same engine as the l3901 but is tuned down and pulls 25hp at a low RPM! I love it! How do you like yours?

Excellent take on business models for companies that introduce a brand new product, Many of the new auto introductions use this and some have even gotten better and more affordable in time. Beware of a new product with so many included features, some will disappear in future models. This goes for everything you buy, from food to vehicles

i have an rk 24 with a loader and a hoe. i love it. has done everything i need it to do. i also got a trailer there. they sell them as well. i looked at about every model in that size and they all are about the same. the rk has a little but nire lifti g capacity . only thing i wpuld change would be to have the tires filled. was nit sugggested when i got it. i am going to do it myself. other than that i love it

Rural King has been selling agriculture tractors for at least ten to fifteen years; manufacturer of their tractors I don't know. Yanmar engines is a very old company. I believe started as a sail boat engine and they also had agriculture tractors. Fred said it

Great Video, Lots of Facts, And Great Facts of Truth... Bought A New 2019 Mahindra Tractor Loader, 50 HP... So much studying before the Buy... The Decision Process, Brands, Makes, Model's.. Price, Quality, Warranty, Service Department, Location of Dealer.. 85 Hours Now, no issues or big Mechanical Failure... But I do Mechanical work, I no Fixs for small stuff... Excellent subject matter here... You have listed off a bunch of valid arguments. I think right off the bat, one needs to understand the bigbox store mentality if one chooses to purchase any of these tractors. I'm glad I caught this video, by sheer chance actually. At this point in time I have no idea if these tractors are even sold in Vermont. I run JD equip. with my local dealer in NH, 25 mi. distant. In the (16) years of running my 990 JD, with just over 900 hrs. on it now, it has never been back to the dealership because I do my own work on it. For that matter I have never used JD oils or hyd. fluids. I get most my maint. supplies from the local parts store, they are closer & less expensive as in NAPA Gold ( WIX ) oil filters & Valvoline All Fleet 15W-40 oil & industrial rated HD grease ( blue ). Typically I use off brand hyd. oils. with no problems. Once again, if you can use a wrench & do most your own service work, you should be OK with these units. I firmly believe the real test on these tractors will be 10 years plus down the road with some real working hours on them to see how they actually hold up over the test of time... Yep, if you can turn a wrench and don't mind getting dirty, that is the only way to go. Go with something you know that doesn't have a bunch of foolishness on it and it will last forever.

Morgan's give them great reviews for 2 years of use but still low hours....250 hours on the RK 55. But still...until there is a stable, proven network of verifiable service and maintenance results, I'm sticking with JD or Kubota for my tractor needs. Both dealers are close by with proven results.....and that is imperative.

I think the fact that the Morgans face the Rural King tractors back at the end of the contract and purchased a Kubota says a lot. I agree. Need more time to get established to see if they are going to back their product.

@@RedToolHouse You really think Mike "purchased" a Kubota? Yea right. He had one before the RK deal and I'm sure Kubota made sure that they would not be overshadowed by lil ole RK! Funny to me I never here Mike talk about how well his BX preforms or having a contest to name his little BX that he has now. He did that with the RK24. Matter of fact they named it Sherman, after the tank. Money or in this case Maybe the "giving" of a product would sell you on theirs over any other real quick. Kubota just "gave" him a side by side to show and use. I'm sure Kubota didn't like seeing him ride around in a Polaris razor with all the orange stuff on his property. Really cheap advertising for Kubota. How else could they reach so many people for so little?

Buyer beware. Hi Thanks for your efforts to help those of us trying to decide on a tractor. I've been obsessively looking for the last three and half weeks. I've just retired and found out I can't do what I want to without a tractor. Rural King opened a new store in a nearby town last Saturday and I went and really really liked their tractors and was trying to decide between the RK24 or RK37. I have looked at all the tractor dealer for a 100 miles and like the RK the best BUT I checked them out on the Better Business Bureau site today and found out that the BBB gave them (Rural King) a F rating back in June 2018 for bait and switch advertising, charging more at checkout than was marked and bad customer service. Buyer beware.

I am checking out the same RK24 and RK37. I really like them even over the Kubota and Kioti that I sat on. Have not talked with them yet as it got cold out and will wait till next season to look further. They do have prices listed, so would think be better than the dealers who are just as bad as car dealers... always trying to screw you.

Nice tips on buying a new brand tractor( or any machine ). I bought the RK55 shuttle shift. It only has a little over 100 hrs on it now but it has been rock solid. With that said, i havent been real hard on it either. Mostly brush hogging and discing. Kinda new to your channel but so far i like it. Seems to be a good wholesome channel. I never thought of the maintenance and newer emissions regulations. I like the Kiote and RK tractors. The IH/John Deere/Massey/New Hollands are just to expensive for a small farm. I have even thought about just getting an old Ford 4000 with a loader. Those are durable and easy to work on.

Hello fello West Virginian! I actually saw these on my last visit home to Cross Lanes and they are kind of interesting, and would be a decent fit to what little land I have back home and the uses I would have for it. My only worry is that when most places say service and repair they generally mean only light duty things, like diag pto failure, or hydaulic issues outside on either implements or loaders. That is kind of a bigger issue out here as these brands have been pushed back for "full service and repair", not being that. I dont think there is anything inherently wrong with any korean or japanese, or even Czech made tractor, but without an idea of the logistics pipeline these companies have in place I am weary to take the plunge on an investment like that. But i did like your video it gives a decent insight on something I think a lot of people are interested in.

Good point. That would be worth asking the service department at RK. Minor repairs versus something like a blown head gasket or major drive train issues may be a whole different story.

TYM USA I believe is in north Carolina, I have a TYM and parts take about 10 days for me to get... was worth the purchase... looks identical to the RK and Branson Brands... I don't use it for a living so no big deal

Beautiful place you have. Am in central Illinois and retiring soon. Plan on selling out and moving soon due to the State Government situation here. West Virginia is a state I am looking into. Live in the country on 15 acres and am looking at a similar spread somewhere. Bought a Kubota subcompact 2680 new. Found the price difference between RK Kubota not that significant after adding in extras the Kubota came with on base price like a front loader.

True, but if you are looking for warranty work then you have to go to an approved service area. Most independents can't do warranty work.

My neighbor had one of these Rural King tractors. He ended up suing over the warranty. 18 months of the first two years was spent with the tractor sitting in Rural King shop. So It was broke down and waiting to be repaired. One repair it was gone for months. Hunks of junk. He sold it cheap and bought an 8N. I bought 48HP New Holland and never had a minute of down time.

Honestly I think he either could not operate it properly or he filled you full of crap... TYM builds RK mahindra and others.... They even own Branson... Any one of the new tractors beats a Ford 8n.... Great tractors for back then... two wheel drive.... But not at all comparable to the new tractors... No 4x4. No power steering and not enough horse power to run much of the equipment....

Thistle Creek Homestead Well, on the one hand, that is exactly what I think about doctors, dentists, and vets. On the other hand, they are professionals (which is not to be confused with “experienced”). One of the many requirements of a “professional” is continual (and provable) professional growth every year. So the youth thing is not that relevant. But tractor mechanics? Maybe they do, maybe they don’t. One thing is certain, there is a world of difference between medical professionals and mechanics. Experience is still important, but up-to-date training is too.

My neighbor bought one about two years after Rural King tractor two years after they came out with the line. OMG that thing was a nightmare. Almost the whole warranty it sat in the Rural King shop waiting on a rear main seal. Little crap was always breaking, bolts were loose everywhere. He had to hire an attorney to have them fix it and extend his warranty for the 6 or 8 months it was waiting repaired.

All of this is great, but when finally realize that you can no longer wait for Parts, or, you have to Trailer your Tractor to the other side of your State to get Warranty repairs (and you are tired of it) you decide to Trade one of these tractors in you will find a) no mainline dealer wants it, or, they offer you very little for it on trade (learn about overallowance), you realize that it wasn't such a great deal after all- I've been in this Business for over 40 Years and have seen Brands come and go (Zetor, Branson (which is a distant cousin to these) and others-they are an offshore Tractor w/very little Factory support (take Branson for instance-they are made by at least two different Mfr's)- You would be much farther ahead to buy a good used "known" Tractor (Deere, Case, Kubota, New Holland)-lots of Dealers, good Tech support, good parts availability, good resale, overall good value-stay away from low quality/resale stuff like this

I agree completely. That really is the biggest unknown with most of these tractors. My brother has a Branson and it has been a real hassle for him. Right now the head is blown and a local diesel shop is working on it as there is no Branson dealer to work with.

Deciding what is the purpose of your tractor and how long or not you may own it. So add in the fact if your not mechanically inclined...computer literate your better off with a big name brand. You can get any parts you need online for anything more recognizable than a Russian Spugnik tractor or Amphicar. If you can really do it yourself most of these can be fine. If your dependent for your livelihood on your machine don't take the chance of being down for an extended period via parts/service/or plain unexpected stuff. No machine is invincible but having ready availability can be the difference in a business dying or not. My dad had a Mahindra 4500 for 16 years with no issue besides regular maintenance. He bush hogged in his retirement and never a better machine could he have owned. I am well satisfied with my RK24 w/backhoe for personal use. I'll keep it until my projects are done on my 10 acres and sell it. If I can't get a reasonable amount then I will keep it. It's not for mowing as I have 60" beast for that. I live around a farming community. Great respect for Green/Orange/Red old timers but there are some very reasonable uses for these off and growing brands. Some are junk and some are not. Do your home work and be aware. My tractor was $19k..Red /Green/Orange would have been 30-35. Not for my budget so owning this very awesome little tank I am in project mode and from the 100 hours I have on it... It will not be a disappointment. Will it have an issue...what car/truck/tractor/boat does not? My '01 Tundra 8cyl gave me 400k miles only replacing a transmission/radiator/starter in 15 years...I just had to replace the 6cyl motor in my 2015 Frontier at 180k...go figure. Just know that you have done your homework and made your best informed decision. A wise man sees trouble and plans accordingly...a poor man trying to be wise, does the best that he can with what he has...Amen

2020. Cross Lanes Rural King doesn't deliver now if that was the one you were specking of. I was looking for a sub-compact tractor because that is all I needed. Ended up going with a Kioti from Shamblin Brothers. $2300 dollars less (with loader, backhoe and tiller) than RK quoted and free delivery. The RK seems to be ok and I wish the brand longevity. The price and delivery was the main sell for me. But as you stated I had concerned about service a few years down the road.

Hi RTH I've been eyeballing this RK37 since last summer at our Rural King in Parkersburg WV. I was all set to sell my kubota L 2650 and buy the RK37 but I was like others about the warranty. I ended up this spring buying a J.D. 3025 which is a lesser tractor than what I had. It's a 25 h.p. without the DPF as your not required to have the DPF less than 26H.P. to meet emissions. Not sure about the Regeneration PROCESS. I've heard good and bad mostly bad about the DPF. Thanks buddy

I think these are great tractor. Is really not if you can turn a wrench or not it is if you can get parts . I purchase a chipper for Northern Power and it takes forever to get parts and sometimes the parts never show up .Im selling the chipper and buy one that made in the United State.So good luck.

My farm is near the birth place of RK, just bought a finish mower and disk this week. Our store isn't the quality at it use to be. You said it right research research research. The RK in Paris has no tractors on the lot. In short be careful buying at RK.

@@Joey-ve7ku 72" king cutter, just got it fired up last week. Cuts nice, had to have in warranty repaired. They are delivered to store with gear oil but no greased. I bought an old unit at a discount. When I greased center blade water came out, barring was shot due to sitting out side with no grease. Like I said you have to keep an eye on RK.

For the money, it's hard to beat a Kioti. That being said, I wouldn't buy any brand of tractor for which I couldn't get dealer service (warranty/major repairs). With the exception of the Tier 4 emissions gadgetry, the new Kiotis are just as good as the earlier models.

I have a new Kioti CK2610HST that I purchased in April, I have 65 hours on it already so it gets used. I haven't had I problem with it what so ever. I have a great dealer 20 miles away that has been in business for years. I'll go to a reputable dealer before a big box store even if I have to pay alittle bit more. I'm not worried about how well these RK tractors are built, I watch Outdoors with the Morgans, Mike puts them through the pacesn I'm worried about RK deciding to get out of the tractor business like Cabelas did.

I would say their like all other "odd-brand" equip. Lack of parts availability and many shops won't work on them. I know this is the case with my neighbors RK and his Tractor Supply brand side-by-side utv (I can never recall the name of that thing). I help him work on them quite often.

So long as you have a long term use for them they make sense. Look at the history of the company in this company, where the machine is made, reliability and cost to operate. Buy a bigger machine than you currently need. Loads tend grow and it is very frustrating to have a machine just slightly too small for the job. Do not get sold on the fancy paint job. Tier 4 emissions is needed. I am pissed that you think it is OK to spit into everyone's air.

I own a 870 jd and a 650 jd and I owned a 165 yanmar the jd'have yanmar engines and are a bullet proof engine . I owned a Kubota 6100e that was built like a tank,i also owned a ford1710 I did not like it, lack of loader power the loader frame cracked under the tractor and it had power steering that was lacking

RK gave 3 tractors and the attachment to(Outdoor with the morgans) to use for 2 years. They were used daily on there channel. They looked like good tractors and had no problems or breakdowns over the two year. Check out there youtube channel.

TYM put my local TYM dealer out of business because they only gave them 2 tractors in 6 months. I won't buy another one. I will buy a used New Holland Powerstar 75 instead of a new RK 75.

We have had a RK37 for nearly 3 years now and it has been nothing but problems. The engine is great, the problems have been electrical and fuel pump related. Barely 200 hours on the machine and it needs serviced again for who knows how long this time. Just in time for hay season! It has been a big disappointment to say the least.

Hello My name is stoney I live in WV close to Charleston I bought the RK55 tractor with loader backhoe Rural King has great service I was having a problem with my backhoe they came out and got the tractor and worked on it and got it back to me, the tractor is very strong runs great now I do NOT like the R4 tires at all they really suck in mud but its not only RK tractors that have them but the tractor is so far good it is very heavy, I dont care much about the Backhoe floating system is not good at all , But like I said they got great service RK took care of me fast

Yes it was, RK came out fast and took it back to the shop and fixed the problem and brought it back to me and did not charge me one cent and then they told me if I have any more problems they would take care of it just call, they even said they went all over the Tractor to see if any thing else was wrong and this is after 8 months of running it

I bought a new rider mower that looked like a tractor it was a big one! I used the model one cut and the plastic clutch plate overheated and broke out! I returned it and the manager tried to sell it to me as a repaired unit after it was fixed but I said once these things breakdown and plastic is the reason I don’t want it. Husky was the brand name and they brag about nothing.

If I were you I wouldn't but a new kioti tractor. I've used a couple of there newer ones and I don't like them. The farm I helped on for awhile had 2 of them and the older one was the best. We all hated the new one. It was really light. It also depends on how you use it tho. Nice video.

I really have a hard time scraping,saving or borrowing money for a tractor in its infantcy.The big name tractors have proven that they hold up,design,engineering,dealer networking,fit and finish,and resale.YANMAR is without a doubt,equivalent to KUBOTA in its diesel engine quality and engineering.Why do you think everybody praises KUBOTA tractors,because there well built.I understand that the RK may be a cheaper buy,maybe up to 20% to 25% cheaper than the brand names,BUT what do you get in the long run?Dealer networking,are they still around?Parts?As you said,you take a long term risk that they will be around in the future,competition is fierce in the tractor world.With respect for RK tractors,yes,HYUNDAI started rock bottom,and now are a major auto manufacturing force and build an excellent vehicle,so Koreans know how to build.Are they JAPANESE?no way!Why do you think RK went to a Japanese motor?Technology,the Japanese have refinement down to an exact science,or very close.My personal opinion,you may save money upfront,but like yourself,15 years later,are they still around,and is the tractor worth anything on trade or otherwise?I like your video,and the knowledge you put into it,but I will still stick with CASE,KUBOTA,KIOTI,JOHN DEERE,for now,they've just proved they can go the distance as manufacturers.Shop wise,it takes a long time to save that cash,Just my opinion.

Deere, Kubota, New Holland, Case, and other "major brands" have rested on their laurels the past 5 or so years and counted on their rank and file customers to stay loyal, even though the competition (Tym, Kioti, Mahindra, Branson, LS, etc) have surpassed them in product performance, features and value. For people buying tractors and planning to keep them for 20 years, I agree that going with a major brand is a better risk for parts and service availability. For everyone else, the "up and comers" are large companies making major investment and gains in the US market and I doubt they'll be pulling out anytime soon (Hyundai and KIA case in point). The big guys will need to change their sales strategy of offering overpriced and under performing products if they want to maintain their market share and customer loyalty.

Sounds decent. A more popular brand name might have more to offer but in the low hp range for estates etc they are not likely built to the big tractor utility specs. And, the big brands will cost more. I say try out a new yanmar, ar, koyoti etc. if it turns out you need more then go to the John Deere’s etc. as for hydrostatic, I do have ag experience with hydraulic drive, they are not good for draft work.

They do the service at store but they have to order most the parts and it takes weeks if not longer to receive parts. They boast they will come out to your lot if broke down and fix, BIG LIE! After 4 uses PTO switch broke and now they are saying that’s not covered under warranty after only owning it for 4 months! SO far my opinion is YOU GET What you pay for! SO FAR RK 24 tractor STINKS! Also after 1 use the bolts on overhead shade broke fell hit my husband’s head, still haven’t received parts ordered for that. BIG THUMBS DOWN FOR RURAL KING

IMHO your local dealer is the most important feature of any new tractor. Start your research there. What is the reputation of your local dealer? How about the service department? I am a Massey Ferguson man but I am far more impressed with the local dealer. Its family owned and been in the area for decades they have a great reputation for taking care of warranty issues and etc. All sub compact and compact tractors are now made with foreign engines. For an example John Deere uses the Yanmar engines just like RK. Now I wish the new Massey I just bought still had an old Perkins diesel but unfortunately that not the world we live in anymore.

On my channel you see me using old Allis Chalmers tractors to either raise my timber frame or do my haying. My FIL and I farm together and two years ago he bought a 70hp Mahindra. At 600 hours on the machine things started falling apart, water pump went, hydraulic pump bearings went, egr valve issues and so forth. All of that can be dealt with, still a solid machine...when it came time to put in the warranty claim everything came back as not under warranty even though all of the components were technically part of the powertrain which Mahindra says they have a five year warranty on. Needless to say the Mahindra got traded in for a 10 year old Case. Moral of the story is that the machines are only as good as their warranty and customer service. Something you really need to consider before buying.

Something every new tractor owner seems to look over and every salesman hopes you don't ask about is the DPF diesel particulate filter. if You do not want to have expensive repairs and the aggravation because you do not run your tractor long enough to regen then you should look into a tractor that does not have a DPF. If you're a weekend warrior do not get a tractor with a DPF you can avoid this by going to 25 horsepower or less. But if you're absolutely hell-bent on having a tractor that's 25 horsepower or greater do you realize they'll be times that you want to run the tractor for 10 minutes and wind up having to let it sit outside in regen mode for 3 hours. Yes I said 3 hours this can be a deal-breaker for most new tractor owners especially if there's truly no need to own a tractor bigger than 25 horse other than bragging rights.

@First Last Diesel Particulate Filter=DPF= exhaust filter. Just buy a tractor that's older than 2010 and you'll be just fine. It really all comes down to how long you're going to run the tractor each time you use it. If you plan on running the tractor for more than a couple hours without shutting down each time you use it then a newer tractor with a DPF will be just fine. But if you're like me most of the time I don't run my tractor more than 45 minutes to an hour. This is not long enough for the regen cycle. The DPF has to be cleaned and the only way to clean it is to burn it out. This takes time and Heat. Think of the DPF as a filter for the exhaust. As you know diesel engines smoke a bit more than gas engines the DPF catches the black smoke and holds it until it begins to get plugged up. Then the engine does a cleaning cycle to clean the filter this is called Regen or regeneration of the filter. For operators that run their tractors practically all day this is not an issue the engine cleans the filter as a tractor is being operated. But us Weekend Warriors don't run it long enough to do the cleaning cycle this is where the problem is. And why I would suggest staying away from a tractor newer than 2010 to avoid having a DPF.

After watching this video I was quite interested in looking into a 50 hp, give or take a few, RK tractor. At least to investigate the potential. I live in Vermont and discovered that RK and TYM have no stores even close to us. The nearest is in Clearfield, PA about 430 miles from here. Nothing in New England at all. What gives? Looks like you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a store in the mid-west but nothing up north. Guess I need to look into the main line brands of Green or Red tractors. Probably not a Blue one but wow. I feel kinda stuck with that choice. Suggestions?

William J. Stilianessis actually sitting at a Rural King right now as I read this comment. That distance would be an issue for me for sure. Have you looked at Kioti? I have had mine for over 17 years and it has been a great tractor.
