Gooday Roz x really pleased to see you ,you've not been on for a bit ,am so pleased that your ok ,nice tool kit 👍⚡👍🍻😘 take care X stay safe xx luv always Cliff xxxxx 💖valvoline really good aswell x
Okay Roz, did I hear a kerosene heater running? I thought I saw it at the end of the video with all the gentleman sitting in front of it. I do construction and I have four of those heaters... Such a Taffy man I am. I freeze my butt off, that's not good, I don't have one to begin with. I love seeing these little things in your videos. Here in Texas on Thursday it was 115°, Fahrenheit, which is 46° c. Hot! You're running a heater and my tongue is dragging the floor looking for a cool breeze. Well there wasn't a cool breeze and now my tongue has concrete burns. I can handle the heat, but not the cold. You'll find me in the corner kneeling in front of the heater. I suppose all of your fans like watching you tinker as much as I do. I love to tinker on my motorcycles. From the video before this one, exhaust installation, at the end you settled up on the CRF and went for a ride. My absolute favorite part was watching your little toes try to find the ground once you got on board the bike. I was grinning like the Grinch. That was tippy towing with a very tips of your toes... Loved it. I know you have done suspension work, so I am assuming that the weight of your gear will bring the bike down to where the balls of your feet are on the ground. I know it's silly, but if you had that (tippy tippy toes) in every video along with your jig dancing, I think my eyes would roll over in my head and probably get stuck... That must be contentment.
Yep, wicked heater but surprisingly it runs clean as on diesel fuel!!!! 😂👍 And yes, I won’t install the Kouba lowering link until I’ve loaded the bike with its full kit of adventure luggage and see how much feet I get on the ground! 🤞😂🍀 Stay warm buddy! 🥵😂👍
"Sheese".... whats in the water over there Rozalyn, you look younger every time I see you. I haven't watched you for a while and here I am again watching some good shit. Good tools purpose built for our little red bikes are enough to enthuse anybody. Yep inside every woman is a little girl.... good stuff for sure, particularly the tyre lever set up. The bottom line is when ever working on one's bike one should only use the tools one carries on said bike, then one knows if they have got the right set up. I tend to munch up pistons and bores so its not much use carrying anything other than and air ticket. But hey... that's another story. Love your channel when time allow. May the force be with you
@@kiwiadventurer thanks for your kind words buddy! Yep you’re 100% spot on about using the tools you’ll take on adventure and also doing as much as you can yourself because that’s how you learn about your bike. It’s easier to get a mechanic to do it but having that knowledge has saved me on many occasion’s out where there’s no mechanics for 100’s of miles! 🤞😂🍀🛠️ I’m still waiting for the universe to get me over the trench to your stunning adventure riders paradise! 😁🙏🏔️⛰️ It’s always an adventure m8….carry on! 😜👍🏁🏍️
you did not need to cat the snorkel of the air filter because after the paper filter a little in the back you almost don't see it , you have there another snorkel witch is even more restrictive and longer then this one , the one you cut is just for sound and water , the one in the back is the restrictive one but i don't recommend cutting it because that length of the snorkel is where you want the power , longer one gives you power in the low rpm , and shorter one gives more power in high rpm , and every snorkel at the sucking end has some lips that help a lot with turbulence it decreases then and improves airflow , and even if you put more aer in the engine you need to tell that to the computer because the bike runs very lean because of pollution standards. I really like your videos and the rest of the mods , you have very good taste !
Thank you for your input Florin. Yes, I understand your explanation & have had a great discussion with 500 Performance in the US. I have decided to do only Stage 1 improvements rather than do the fully modifications because my style of riding is not competitive. I am just chasing a good gain in performance rather than chasing maximum gain in power. 🤞😁🏍
@@MBohm1990 I’ve done a bit of everything in my life 😂🙏 In my early 20’s I was an automatic transmission technician followed by a couple of years of motor trimming. I had a 67 big block Chevy Camaro that I restored along with other great muscle cars of the era. Back in the day, my husband and I had a world record breaking BB/Funny Car plus sprint cars & go-karts. I manufactured soft furnishings for interior decorators then manufactured children’s wear in China. The last 12 years I been an industrial relations workplace law specialist. So a bit of everything but bikes are definitely new to me! 🤞😂🏍🛠
very important , if you remap the ecu you need to change the second snorkel witch is behind the paper filter , with one from honda cbr 300 , otherwise it will still be chucked , no need for extra holes in the box just put 41mm snorkel from cbr 300 your in the smallest point has 35 mm
Thanks mate. Yep…I’ve ridden it without the screen on a long highway and the wind bears down pushing me harder into the seat which over a long distance, fatigues my hips, arms, shoulders & neck muscles. Definitely a little luxury for sure! 😂🙏🏍💨
You wouldn’t believe what I used! 😂🙏 I found a can of fan belt grip spray in the workshop! I tested it on the grip on the OEM bars! Slipped on a treat and when it dried, it doesn’t budge! Woooo hooo! 😂👍🏁
make sure ur mirrors are not to tight so if u fall they give way and don't break like i see a lot of people doing . tight so they don't move while riding but still move if u push them . great times ahead enjoy :)
Hi Roz,just found you're channel and it's awesome !. Thinking to get myself a 300l . Biker for years plenty offriad but no adventure . Live on Crete now with my partner .if you are ever up this way give us a shout . Stay safe . Ian
Hi Ian 👋😁 Crete as in Greece?! I lived on Corfu Island in 1992 when I was a traveling 21yo and boy were those roads deadly from the fallen olives when riding the Vespa! 😵🤞😂🍀 Thanks for your kind offer and your kind words!
@@RozalynVeersma yep Crete Greece . The roads here are lethal from heat loose rocks and oil drips . Got a CF Moto 600 quad atm for exploring and mountain trails but I miss 2 wheels . As a say hit us up and stay safe .
Hello Rosalyn and greetings from Canada. I have purchased the same windshield. I agree that mounting it to the handle bars as per the instructions make it rather crowded on the handlebars. Would you have any update on how you ended up mounting the windshield? Thank you for taking the time to document the mods.
Hi Tony 👋😁 It’s the last modification I’m doing over the next couple of weeks! I think I’m going to use the framework from my SWM Superdual spare screen off my CRF250L. I’ll post the final Ep3 soon! 🤞😁🍀
Switch out the all/ control screws stainless steel allen head bolts, not so bad to strip out. Several kits available. Oxford heated grips. Look at a Tenere 700 Yamaha sliding shield setup. Camel ADV products
I contemplated Oxford Grips but in my mind, it was just another electrical thing that can go wrong and the grips end up too big for my little hands making all day riding not comfortable. Thank goodness for my possum gloves that I wear under my regular riding gloves…warm as toast! 😂👍 Thank you…I’ll def check out the Tenere 700 sliding shield set up! That’s exactly what I was looking for and only bought this one as a temporary set up until I found the perfect screen! Yep, know of the camel adv products and it may be an option depending on what Acerbis do with a larger tank. Given the bike is relatively new to the market, coupled with Covid, the manufacturers are slow on bringing a bigger tank to the market. Urgh! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@@RozalynVeersma I’ve got one on Charlie. And an AXP skidplate. Was a pain to modify. Actually flush with the skidplate. But the oil drain itself is rated. So i’m not fussed about smashing it with rocks. And if i go proper offroad, i have my Ricochet ali one. Also has the same cut out for the oil drain. So much easier draining oil right into the bottle, than into a pain etc and everywhere else
If you swapped the screen mount brackets around tohave the bolt in a leading pposition rather than in front to the bolt you would have got some of you rear clearence smaller and not had to bend the support rods as far. Nice clean bends though. There is a lot of leverage on those (5mm?) mount bolts though.
Yep, I could’ve used the brackets provided with the screen and mounted from the bars but it’s cluttered enough without adding more brackets. Test rode it on the weekend and there’s definitely too much movement for the small Mount bolts. I also want to mount my GPS/phone on the inside of the screen, so will just get a more secure framework made for it. Given the price of the screen, I’m happy to throw a bit more into it to customize its fit 🤞😂
Have you been out since removing the snorkel? How does it feel if so? I've left mine in cause I'm using a unifilter pre-filter that goes on a ktm 790/890 but fits the honda 300 snorkel well. Haven't needed to worry about the OEM paper filter yet as the pre-filter takes all the nasty. Got 2 pre-filters for $26, easy to clean and re-grease!
I just got my Unifilter Pre-filters in the mail on Friday hence I’ve left the outer part of the snorkel on for now but once Unifilter does their main filter, I’ll delete the snorkel altogether as well as drill extra holes on the top like I did with the CRF250L. Once the air box mods are done, then I’ll do the ECU flash once I’ve researched which way to go. Every little mod is an improvement on these little cc bikes! 😂👍🏁
@@HJZ75driver yep, got the EJK in my CRF250L and it was great. Loved that I could adjust it myself to suit the environment & conditions which I know I won’t be able to do with a flash. Hence I’ll definitely be doing the research first 🤞😁🍀
On you bark busters, on the bolt on the end of the bars, the space goes on the inside of the bark buster. There should be no snags on the end of the bars with the bolt countersunk into the bark buster.
Hey Roz, I love all your vids, great content! Question...what is your inseam, if you don't mind? I want to buy a CRF300 but concerned about the seat height. There are NONE around here for me to try unfortunately
Thanks darl! 😁🙏 My inseam is 80cm with boots on. Unfortunately I can’t tell you the standard seat height as I bought the CRF300L with the YSS shock already installed. I’ve since put the Seat Concepts Comfort Low seat on which lowered it by circa 25mm and with the bike unloaded, I can just touch both tips of my toes (which my Forma adventure boots on) on the ground. I have yet to get the suspension fully set up with all my luggage on, so I’m not going to have the 45mm Kouba lowering link installed until such time that the custom pannier rack is welded and the bike is loaded. Once the bike is loaded, I’ll get my suspension guy to set up the SAG for my weight plus luggage. If I’m happy with the height and can get both feet on the ground, then I won’t bother installing the 45mm Kouba link as I’d still like decent ground clearance given the variety of terrains I ride in. Will include all of that in Ep3 of upgrades & mods! 🤞😁🍀
Hi Rosalyn, I was interested in your eastbound tools. I got on their site could see the tyre changing tools. But with the other two pouches are they also useful for my CRF 300 tool collection. I'm just wondering if you can assist me in the name of those. Their web site is a little non descriptive but most likely me not knowing the specific sizes or what might be handy or essential. You have lots of toys for the big toy. Are you missing the big trip. Suppose you just want to do it again but on the 300. Be great if you can recommend that collection for me thanks enjoy Trevor.
Hi Trevor, yes absolutely I’m missing the adventure and the plan is to take off again on the CRF300L! 🤞😁🍀🏍 Here is a copy/paste of my eastbound invoice with the part numbers 😁👍 Tyre Repair Extension Kit (for all Wheel Service Kits) (#8058) €65,75 Honda CRF 300 L & Rally Wheel Service Kit (#12022) €59,90 8mm Combination spanner (#LCW0008) €6,40 10mm Combination spanner (#LCW0010) €6,95 12mm Combination spanner (#LCW0012) €7,35 13mm Combination spanner (#LCW0013) €8,10 14mm Combination spanner (#LCW0014) €8,10 Eastbound Tyre-Pro tool storage pouch (loose) (#880)
@@RozalynVeersma Hey thanks your grouse!👍 It's difficult to let go hey? You've got some bug. The humdrum of ordinary life can get boring even if there are things to do. Just not the things you want to be doing. Be watching thanks for the tool tip too, 😀
@@johnwayne7210 hahaha I’d say my big adventure completely destroyed my life…in the best possible way! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😂🙏 Normal life completely does my head in now and I can’t wait to spit the dummy and take off again! 🤞😂🏍💨⛺️
AMX Superstore in South Australia. Great service & the girl on the phone knew her stuff making sure to cross reference the correct numbers for the CRF300L off zetas website.
Your good 👍 at the bike mods mate , as usual detailed in what you do , it’s a good trait that a lot of females have and not so much us males 😂😂😂 Are you doing a long range tank ?
Yep, I went for a test ride yesterday! The balls didn’t budge but it rotated up from where it’s bolted into the side mounts! So I’ll need to work out a way to secure it better with maybe a custom frame but I’ll still glue those balls in securely as I reckon they won’t last 50,000kms! 🤞😂🍀 But at $51, I’m not complaining! 🤣
Very cool! Have you, or are you going to do the ECU mod? I hear they run lean stock, and they say an aftermarket exhaust makes it worse. Curious to hear what you get.
Yes…definitely going to do the ECU mod but just waiting for Unifilter to come out, so that’ll be air in/out sorted and then ECU can be flashed to suit. Can’t wait! 🤞😁🏍
@@RozalynVeersma I hear all the cool kids are running the 550 performance ECU's. Maybe a better option on your side of the planet though. You could probably get it done locally for the price of chips.
@@moemuggy4971 I hear good things about them too and everyone seems to be going that way but I have questions…and lots of them! 😂🙏 For instance, how does the flash work with different altitudes, temperatures, loads & various octane fuels? On my adventures, I experience great variables in all of the above…so how will the flash adapt to those variations? With the EJK, I could make my own adjustments on the fly. Richer for higher altitudes, leaner for long straight flats, etc. So I’ll call Mr. 550 for a chat first and see what else is going on out there in the wonderful world of ECU’s before making a decision. 🤞😂🍀
@@RozalynVeersma Can't wait to hear your results. Apparently, everybody swears there's not much hidden horsepower and performance in these bikes that can't be brought out with a good ECU tune. So keep us posted.
None of this is important. What is important is the correct pronunciation of the word leverage. If lever is pronounced as leaver then leverage should be (correctly) pronounced as leaverage. We used to deport people to Australia for crimes like that.🤔😀 Now, carry on with your fripperies.😀 Oh, and Happy Birthday 🎂🍾🍷
Baaaaahahaha I have a new ‘auto corrector’ to add to my crew of proper speaking English peeps! 😂 You know me well darlin…I make my own trails AND words! 🤣😂
Freaking awesome job! Young Hermes is turning out to be a dam nice bike.. Funny, we chose a lot of the same stuff. I've gotten plenty of use out of the eastbound tire tools, lately. 'nuff said. Ok, maybe best I don't jinx you, but the "baja no-pinch" tire bead mounting tool has come in handy. Not heavy, except in price (ughh). Anything for our hobby is so expensive, but, cheaper than going to the therapist! hehe I'm gonna have to check out the pivoting levers. Interesting.. Great to see you, pls carry on.
