Day 3, northern Wind River Range backpacking high route: Today we start hiking below Continental Glacier, just below the Continental Divide. We hike a drainage to the Divide, across the flat plateau, then down to Roaring Fork and Crescent Lake. From here we hiked to Faler Lake, and bushwhacked down to Clear Lake. The bushwhacking here was intense at times, with a very steep slope to contend with. But today's hike was incredibly beautiful!

The Wind River Range is so Beautiful. Much more scenic than the Divide desert basin l went thru between Lander and Laramie around 20 yrs ago. I❤WYO!

Great video, I've been watching to get ready for next year. How many hours did it take to climb from Mile Long Lake to to the Continental Divide?

Plus...do you have a pic of the point where the waters actually divide and flow opposite at the divide? I would love to see that!

Continental Glacier is pretty vast. I don't think there's one point where you could see water draining off both sides. It mostly straddles the east side, but it definitely seems to contribute water to the west side as well. I thought that was pretty interesting

Do you ever want to just climb up that glacier field? And curious....you may not want to answer this.... ever felt there was a Sabe(sasquatch) around? Has something you've seen, felt or heard made you a believer on all the journeys you've taken???

I've never bought into the whole sasquatch thing, personally. But the other day, I was climbing North Schell Peak in central Nevada, and I saw a lone tree on the hillside. I felt like someone was watching me. It looked like possibly a figure under the tree. I stared at it for a minute, and moved on. I climbed another 200ft up the mountain, looked back, and saw a guy in full camo walking away. I think he was a hunter, watching the herd of elk I later spotted above me. But he was definitely watching me with binoculars, even though I couldn't really see him under the tree. I just knew someone was there. Weird.

Think you were a little off on the Continental Glacier comments. Unless you were at least 8 miles as the crow flies off of the CDT when you hiked it.

@@rschreck876 yeah, we hiked a high route alternate instead of the official cdt route. Check out my cdt series for that video
