Oh damn, it’s fiddly I remember using a huge or multiple extensions but I think there is no tricks really as such. What’s being the issue is it making the bolt grab back into the threads?

Spark Plug Steve no play in both sides of the rack... I probably didn’t explain it well enough. Only really mentioned it a little. The rack was f&@ked besides its highly recommended to replace for the revised/newer gen steering rack anyway as there stronger. For racing it’s the go to thing to do.

It is from an FN/FD I believe, it’s been so long I forgot but I’m sure it is and it’s a direct fit. It doesn’t feel much different just a tiny bit quicker but it’s mainly for the strength I’m told as when you push these on track they can fail and with age 🙌

@@dominicsimons2290 ah nice, would love to go to SA, I hear the car prices are much higher there too. I believe it’s an FN2 rack - PART NUMBER: SMT-E9-AS07 / HSMJX-W48-0 See if you can double check with someone like Area motorsport maybe as it’s been so long since I put this on 🙌

AJW yep standard steering arms indeed fella. Very little, tbh imo very very little for a full race set up but I’ve been told by the people that set my car up that this is the perfect and best set up you can have ...... I’ve always doubted that but there the experts I guess. I always wanted to try going and being way more aggressive with my set up. This was going to be something I’d have been doing this season but I’m not sure what I’m racing this season after winning my Championship two years in a row now. @@PeakPerformanceReviews Found one of your vids through recommended and have been going through all the EP3 build/track vids so I subbed. Im from Essex. Would be worth a shot trying out shorter arms with a more aggressive setup, every little helps, if youve got the print out from your alignment then you can always go back if you dont like how the car feels/handles, wouldnt need to travel further to a specialist just to match settings. Also wanted to ask, about the RCAs, did you feel a noticeable difference to the car after they were fitted and if so what were they? And the failure you had with them popping out of place, is that a common problem with the buddyclub ones or was it just a one off with yours?

AJW yeah it’s something I want to do to look to go way quicker around a lot of tracks as other people get quicker. DME LCA, tbh it’s hard to know if they made a difference as at the time I changed so much. It felt like they coupled with other things did help. I was informed it wasn’t ... again was this a cover up?!? I’m not sure but I wasn’t best pleased. It certainly was sorted but I think it was just a worn knuckle tbh. Slippery Serpant I had the same problem bud, often a sign of it being on the way out fella. I bought a 2nd hand Steering rack from a newer facelifted CTR. They are stronger and better steering racks. Slippery Serpant you could tried that by the time you take it out it may just be worth getting a new one. What’s the mileage on the car? Has it been replaced before? What’s the year and age?

Peak Performance Reviews it’s has 100025 miles on clock it’s a 2002 30th anniversary addition and I’m not sure it looks standard to me

I think it’s just none as a facelifted ep3 civic type R rack, they came a little stronger and better built.

Yes it’s from a newer facelifted rack or a believe poss an FN is the same. I got mine from Area Motorsports and it’s worth calling them 🙌 Thanks for watching Gary.

@@PeakPerformanceReviews put a replacement facelift steering rack on my civic ep3 today as I was reversing into my garage last week I turned the steering wheel to go in backwards and heard a loud bang all of a sudden the steering wheel was just going from lock to lock but the wheels were not moving at all something must has snapped inside my rack itself and my civic is a facelift ep3 so in the process of putting in another rack for the 2nd time plus I put in the new delrin solid slider as well

No I ordered a facelift rack off someone on ebay that breaks them

R wells I’m the same, my first fast fast road car was an ep3 CTR with 336bhp, NA with NOS I love it and used to drag race with a little track, now I’m more track track track. That sounds mega fella, what kind of power is it and what management etc, I wanna hear more. Love a VTEC TURBO 👌 especially in an ep3!
