@ Tracy Hunts Treasure - All of Karen's fur coats are vintage, thrifted furs from garage sales and estate sales. We don't support the fur industry by buying new, but we cannot let old furs simply be tossed in a landfill either. We feel that the animal was killed for it's fur and it's even a greater shame to then throw that fur away or not use it. It makes the animal's death completely in vain, plus we live in Canada, in a place that gets as cold as -40 in the winter, and nothing keeps a person warmer than fur. Did you know faux-fur is a synthetic petroleum product that doesn't break down and is terrible for the environment? We also get a chuckle out of the fact that people seem to get upset sometimes when Karen wears a fur coat... these same people wear a leather belt and leather shoes, as if somehow removing the fur from the hide makes it all better.

I had the lion and the mouse book as a child , here in Australia. But sadly my older sister who was a teacher ( she’s 10 yrs older than me) took all my books for use in her classroom. Thank you guys for the memory of that book. 🤗

In The Old Curiosity Shop channel- Scott has a vintage glass pen holder by Frank A Weeks that he keeps among the items in his personal collection. Funny that I would watch this video and his video in which both present a Frank A Weeks item on the same day. I love watching your videos Rob & Karen- thanks a lot!

The children's book with the Lion, I knew had to be 1962. My Mom got it along with a children's bible book for my baby shower. I still have the bible book - not sure where the Lion one went, but I remember reading it all the time as a kid. It's so funny that I saw this particular episode today because it's also my birthday today! So that book is so fitting for the day :)

To protect your artwork from denting or scratching place them face-to-face or back-to-back. Saw tooth and screw eyes do lots of damage. If a canvas gets a dented must the back with water dab dry for a second with a paper towel and let dry over night. Dent or sag will be removed.

The name in the book at 3.51 is Frances Clark. Frances was my mothers name. If it is spelled Frances with an es at the end it is a female and if it "is" Francis at the end it's a male.

I had that angel pix in my frame shop one time to flatten and when I put it in the dry mount press I ruined it! Not a good thing to remember. BTW tis the season to call it a Snow Pro!

When I was a kid one of my teachers gave each of us students one of those elves. The hole was for the eraser end of our pencils. That was 45+ years ago.

The little elf things are mid century kitsch and yes you under sold them. You guys pass up a lot of kisch stuff and you really should pick up for reselling it's been very popular for a few years now. Should of passed on the picture it's very common.

Hi Cathy!!! :D So far, we are just collectors, and that's primarily what the channel documents, our collecting. With that being said, you DO see Karen grab the odd item to flip from time to time, to help pay for thew weekend's haul... up until now she has just used a local buy/sell app like LetGo or OfferUp and people come by the house to pick up whatever they purchased, but because of so much interest lately, we are going to open an Etsy shop in the new year. It will take a bit to get some inventory for it, but keep an eye and an ear open as we'll announce details in the new year. =)

Years ago went to auction of a “kept” woman. The guy was rich. She had been in nursing home for years and dead for years. Stuff went high but there were tons of garbage sacks by garage. I had to go to work but a friend got tons of the sacks for free. Hand signed land grants by president Grant. Went for $500 each online. Kicked myself for not calling in sick. Just babbling. You guys would haves LOVED her stuff. Mostly 1800’s and earlier.
