It's been 365 days, we've covered more than 27,000Km across the country and our amazing lap of Australia is unfortunately coming to an end. We cross the border, back into Victoria for the first time in a year and visit beautiful Lakes Entrance for a few days.
Our last stop before home is a quiet little spot called Lake Narracan where we spend some time chilling out and getting a bit of life admin done before the arrival home to Mornington.
We are Hannah, Chris and dog Archie, setting off on a 12(ish) month trip around Australia - our BIG Staycation, with the whole of Australia as our backyard! We've quit our jobs, rented the house and gone from never towing a caravan, to touring the country full time with one! We're learning as we go! / staycationoz

I think we have settled on single axle approx 17' this will suit our weight requirements (under 3t) and we would like to have weight room and tow around 2.5t. we are not planning the lap just yet, just getting out there!! (work 🙃) I look forward to your wrap up and thought process for what comes next in your travel adventures. The Crusader full composite is in the mix for us. I know you had some issues to begin with and would be grateful to hear your thoughts after living full time for a year in one. (no pressure only share if you want) 😉 all the best guys

We only had very minor issues and nothing with the actual caravan build (had to get the washing machine fixed and the skylights replaced) - I think the Excalibur range are great vans to travel long term in!

Hi Charlotte. I’ve got to say it was lovely moving back into our house, and all that space!! We’re pretty well settled now (and even managed a couple of trips back to England since being back), but we are getting itchy feet again so we are planning on getting a new caravan/camper trailer/camper in the very near future to do some shorter trips (and explore the wonders Victoria to start)…… ☺️

Hey Lyn, great to hear from you again! So glad you’ve taken inspiration and been on your own exciting adventures! We still have the Ranger but have sold the Crusader. We’re looking for something smaller for shorter trips now and heading to the Melbourne Camping & Caravanning Show in a couple of weeks so hopefully we’ll have some more exciting news to come…..which we will of course share on RU-vid. That is a very good question and a discussion that we are just starting to have at home. I think we may share our thought process on buying something new in a video, now that we have a much better idea of how to identify our requirements and make a good decision. Watch this space!
