Hi bud , just looking into doing my custom. Just a bit confused about top rear side panels ones next to windows. Theres no holes for clips for plywood. Was wondering how do you fix the ply on. Buy brackets or clips?

Great vid 👍 I'm just about to do my Custom , I used kingspan with stickpins and recycled bottle insulation then put an aluminium foil vapour barrier first. Planning on using thin ply with carpet to finish. Hope it works

Ah great thanks god you like the video.. yeah I have seen a few other people do similar with insulation 👍 Sure it will be sound and good luck with the rest of the build 👍

Hiya mate just about to carpet line my ford transit. So you know where you have put the recycles insulation on the side panels and rear door. I see you didn't put ply over those, so did you just stick the carpet straight to the insulation ?? About to start tomorrow, so a response would be brilliant, thank you very much 👍👍

Hi mate.. I carpeted the ply panels separately and then refitted them after so on the back doors I cut out the sections of carpet where I put insulation into the voids I am not sure you seen it but I did a video on the rear doors too? Dont know if this might help answer the question too? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-prqifuaS15A.htmlsi=8gs9sywzgNMY1wBK

Hey 👍 thanks for the comment and checking out the video! I carpeted the sliding door with 4 way stretch carpet. If you decide to carpet just ensure that you don’t carpet beyond the rubber door seal 👍

Hello how did you finish where the head liner stops and then meets the exposed roof? Been looking can’t seem to find answer any where can you please help?
@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 9 дней назад
I actually left it in the end! I saw some people filled with foam or cut a piece of play and then carpet lined that might do the job 👍

Hi great work on the van conversion, I'm about to start mine on the same type of van, can I ask you where you got the carpet from and what size did you go for. Kind Regards
@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 3 года назад
Hi Michael - thanks for the kind comment and checking out the videos 👍 I picked up the carpet from a company called Lining Direct - I popped a link below 👇 www.liningdirect.com/product/van-carpet-lining-4-way-stretch/ I went for 2m x 10m but that wasn’t quite enough so I had to get a little bit more i would say 2m x 12m would have been OK. I guess it will depend on if you doing roof liner and also if you do planets separate like I did… Also if you order samples which are free they then give you a 10% discount on the order 👍 Good luck with your build! Let me know how you get on 😃

@@TransitCustomCamper thanks much appreciated. Will let you know.. i'm also thinking about condensation build up inside the van and the best way to get rid of it. Have you experienced any problems. :)
@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 3 года назад
@@michaelfromthedarksideofth1267 yeah that’s a great point on condensation. We have been away only once in the van a few weeks ago and there was a little condensation on the windows.. I am planning a roof fan and then keeping the window open a crack to keep air flow.. I’ll let you know how it goes! Let me know if you find any solutions too 👍

I am about to start the same thing on my transit. I was looking at it the other day and was wondering what to do about the rear pillar where the lights are, you have just covered yours in carpet, what happens if you need to get that light out? Just have cut the carpet?
@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 2 года назад
Hey Matt 👍 Thanks for the comment. I did carpet over but then after I fitted some vented covers that went over the holes..These were for access but also there is risk apparently of blocking these causing possible issue with popping out windows as there needs to be air flow and pressure release when you close the doors! I did another video on what I did here with the covers… Install Vented Transit Custom Rear Pillar Access Covers ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rCzOupGxsj4.html

Hi, how many meters did you need to complete the van?
@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 2 года назад
Hey Jim - If you doing the roof lining and also doing the panels separate like I did then I would say 2m x 12m… I originally got 10m and was a little bit short of what I needed… that might also be as a newbie I wasn’t maybe as efficient with my cuts too 😂

Hey Carpy… I used the original plastic covers that were already in pace and just refit them after I had done the carpet so looks neat enough I rekon 👍 Saved rerouting all the wires 😃

@TransitCustomCamper

Hi - thanks for the comment and checking out the video 👍 I removed the original plastic clips and when it’s came to refit I used the longer ones that you can get from Harrison Trim supplies to refit the panels after that had carpeted them - I did a video on it here - EP5 | How to carpet line Ply Panels in Transit Custom for Camper Conversion ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4jD6kPekPYg.html 👍

How much carpet did you order in total for the whole van mate?
@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 3 года назад
Hi mate - I got 24m2 in the end 2m x 12m. It was a little too much and had some spare so might be able to get away with a bit less. I guess depended on if you doing panels separate and roof liner etc… 👍

@TransitCustomCamper
@TransitCustomCamper 3 года назад
Hey Ollie! Thanks for the comment and checking out the video… Well there is a story here and a mistake I made was I carpeted over initially and then literally next day rear brake light went 😂 What I did was then cut out the holes for access and then I made some covers out of ply wood which I carpeted and then placed over using Velcro tape 👍 there could be other solutions but this worked well and happy with it - if you want to email me at the channel transitcustomconversion@gmail.com I can send over a picture of what I mean if you like 👍

@@TransitCustomCamper ha…typical! Thanks for the quick reply, most videos are people doing up transporters so this is ideal! Looks great by the way, I’ll have a look through the rest of your videos. I’m not going full camper as I need it for work, but Iv added windows, seats and will carpet and probably leave it at that inside. Great work.

Yeah - what was worse was I thought I had done something more serious on the wiring for lights or got the adhesive on a connection or something.. so glad it was a bulb and lesson learned! Ah great mate… sounds good on the build… good luck with it 👍 cheers for the kind words too on the van.. we really happy with it 👍 let me know when you done as planning a new section in videos called “readers vans” so featuring people’s van conversions on the channel and giving shout outs - so be good to get a day van/work van on there if you like?
